This unit is located in the rear of the beautiful Kiahuna Plantation Resort - unit 407, Building 40. The resort is a 35 acre property featuring one of the finest beaches on the islands, wide open lawn areas and beautiful native flowers with old Hawaiian Style low rise buildings. Restaurants on site, athletic club, pool, tennis courts and training facilities. The unit has a garden view, is an end unit with two extra louvered windows for added light and ventilation, the second floor provides added security and privacy verses first floor units, and our has an inviting wood trimmed interior. Perfect!

About Bob schrader
We are from Seattle, WA and were married here 15 years ago, barefoot on the beach. We have been coming to Poipu for 15 years, sometimes twice a year and have always loved Kiahuna, it's beach, the grounds, staff and Hawaiian feel. The Aloha Spirit is very much a part of everything this resort does, but it doesn't feel like a resort in the sense that it is a large property with beautiful open lawns, native flowers and ponds. You can use all the amenities, or as few as you like, while cherishing the quiet and peace of our unit. We believe there is an art to doing nothing and doing it well - this is one of the most beautiful places in the world to practice that are and perfect it.

Why Bob schrader chose Poipu
Sometimes you find a place that just feels like it was designed for you - that is Kiahuna for us. People ask why we don't go to Mexico, The Caribian, etc. we feel when you find a place you love, why waste precious time looking for an alternative and risk disappointment when it's compared to what you have.
What makes this Condo unique
Kauai is unlike the other islands - its incredibly green, has atleast two weather zones, the pace is slow and the people amazing. We fell in love with this unit because it is light, bright, has a huge deck with garden view that is very peaceful and quiet.Having had another condo on island, this deck is shaded from the morning sun, so you can have breakfast and read the morning paper on it without being driven inside by the direct sun. Being second floor and an end unit means you don't have people walking by your front door all the time and the extra jealousied window provide added light and great flow- thru trade winds. We have added a number of personal decorating touches and items that just seemed to speak to us as perfect for the unit. Also, having an entrance to the bathroom opposite the master bedroom makes it ideal if you have four in the unit. The shower and toilet area also has a locking door, allowing someone to use the sink and vanity area at the same time. We have lots of wood in our lives with boats and a houseboat we reside in and this unit has beautiful, original teak like cabinets and finishing trim throughout.

A piece of paradise!
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved every minute of it! Loved the king size bed and the updates to the kitchen. The resort itself was very well maintained and the short walk to the beach was awesome! The only thing we didn't like was the "Alarm Cock" that woke us up every morning at 4:30 AM! Haha! The roosters seemed to be right outside our window every morning. But I wouldn't let that stop you from renting this awesome condo. Bob was awesome! He gave us so many wonderful tips and ideas for things to do and he responded quickly to any questions we had. Thank you Bob for sharing your wonderful place with us! Hope to be back some day!! It was truly a dream come true for us!

Tranquility in the middle of the action!
We stay at this condo each year and are so grateful for the opportunity. Kiahuna Plantation has a warm, friendly, helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The only complaint is how fast our time goes by.
Poipu is located perfectly for us. We enjoy the sunset every day and there are plenty of viewpoints. The drive to the end of the road in either direction is easy and oh so beautiful.

First impression was beautiful property and grounds.
Such a beautiful property in a really great area. Loved the grounds and the condo was excellent with everything we needed. Would definitely stay on this part of the Island again. Able to walk to the beautiful beach and chill out for the day. It is a perfect beach to enjoy.
A relaxing retreat.
We loved staying here. Bill and Linda were great hosts from the day I booked. The place is roomie and has a garden view. Nature comes to your backdoor. Very quiet and easy access to many things. The morning walk to Poipu beach to see sea turtles and Monk seals was the highlight of each day.
Lovely place to stay near Po'ipu
We enjoyed our week staying in this condo. The unit is in a private garden-like setting behind the Marriott. It's approximately a 10-minute walk to Kiahuna Beach, Po'ipu Beach Park, and Po'ipu Athletic Club pool. It was an easy place to stay with elementary aged kids to access swimming.
We loved the location: conveniently located to explore the Limahuli National Botanical Garden & Preserve and Kileau Lighthouse & National Wildlife Refuge on the North Shore, Waimea Canyon on the West Shore, island farmers markets, small towns, and beaches around the island.
The louvered windows and fans helped keep a pleasant breeze flowing. The unit is well-maintained and has everything you need to be comfortable on vacation. The king bed is comfortable. The hideabed worked well for two elementary aged-kids, but might not have been as comfortable for adults for a full week.
We did find the roosters (everywhere on the island) and road noise from Po'ipu Road both started early around 4:30am.
If you are interested in cooking your own food, you will need to remember to buy all cooking staples at the grocery store (Big Save in Koloa is well-stocked). There is a communal outdoor grill for everyone in the complex just outside the condo.
The guest self-service laundry at the Planation was easy to use. We were glad to pick up beach towels from the concierge right on Kiahuna beach.

Thank you - we sincerely want everyone's experience to be all they expect and part of that is us trying to provide everything from advance information to having we can imagine guests might want in the unit when they arrive.
We stayed 4 nights and found this location ideal to visit both the north shore as well as the canyon. Across the road is a shopping plaza with a couple of nice restaurants and unique shops.
There was always a nice breeze blowing through the condo so heat was not an issue. Very comfortable.

The property is located on the Southshore, the dry area of Kauai - along a spectacular beach. Full resort amenities with restaurants, shops, shopping center, golf and restaurants onsite or within easy walking distances. Kiahuna is set between The Marriott Waiohai/Koa Kea and Sheraton hotels. Activities, restaurants and shopping are all within easy walking distance. We have a list of favorite places, tours, restaurants, even car rentals we would be glad to email you anytime. There is a new exercise building as a part of trevoool complex area which has open air autobiography machines, / yoga room and a weight machine room, new basketball courts, etc
