I grew up in Bayfield, CO and learned the trade of operating heavy equipment. It paid me well and I purchased this condo. The condo is in the perfect location; park your car in the space #202 within the parking garage, and walk or take the Red Trolly to where you want to go. Spend your gas savings on dinner out or ski for the weekend!

What makes this condo unique

The condo is perfect for a parent visiting their child in college at Fort Lewis College to stay without intruding on their space. It is ideal for a skiing couple(s) and hunters wanting to sleep in a comfortable king size bed, and be able to cook their meal inside the condo. It is ideal to park your car and be able to walk downtown. I am two blocks to Cuckoos Chicken House and two blocks from the Ore House Steak House! The movie theater is four blocks, all within walking distance, and the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Train Station about a three block walk.

Perfect location!

We loved staying in Durango at this great condo. It was the perfect location to walk everywhere. The washer and dryer were wonderful to have as we had been on the road over a week by the time we arrived. The bathroom was amazing and the kitchen well stocked. Very clean and comfortable!

Great place to stay in Durango!

Our family of 3 had a wonderful stay here! It was spacious and comfortable and the owners seemed to think of everything we might want or need. Well-stocked kitchen. Detailed directions. The proximity to downtown was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a VRBO in Durango.

Great Locatio

We really loved the location. Fabulous. Two blocks away from the Main Street. Parking space provided in enclosed car port. Recommended that a decal with a lanyard be used for parking identification. Was impressed that some of my minor suggestions were acted on immediately including purchasing a new squeegee for cleaning shower upstairs. Written helpful instructions everywhere to guide the guest with Wifi codes/ passwords as well as operating the hot tub in master bathroom.

A guest book written with previous guests is on living room table. Many helpful hints such as the following great restaurants: Ken and Sues, Carvers Bar Grill, The Bookcase ( hidden in barber shop corner College & Main Ave), The Strater Hotel, and Steaming Bean coffee shop.

The accommodations were comfy and spacious. The downstairs was spacious wide open with kitchen nearby. The upstairs had a nice guest room, but master bedroom with a king bed was huge. The master bathroom was large adequate with each person having a sink. Nice sized jetted jacuzzi tub.

The Kitchen had all the necessary accessories pots, pans, dishes silverware, glasses, coffee cups, coffee maker to feel at home away from home.

Recommend that guests book the Durango- Silverton train before arriving in Durango. Well worth the 3 1/2 hour trip to by train and 1 1/2 hour return ride by bus also you need reservations. Recommend The Golden Block brewery in Silverto located on Greene street for a bite to eat.

Finally was very impressed with the communication before, during, and afterwards with VRBO representative Cherith was professional, expediate, and impressively quick. Highly recommend this location for future renters.

Good condo, tough communication

The condo is great - great location to downtown and walkable to everything there. Amenities are nice. When we arrived, there were a number of sundries missing (toilet paper, dish soap, etc) and the owner had her relative come and drop them by later that day. Generally, it's a beautiful place and the pictures don't do it justice.

If you are needing a quiet place, this was located on College Avenue which is a main thoroughfare and there was quite a bit of traffic noise. You can also hear the next door neighbors a bit at night- their bedroom must back to the master bedroom as we heard snoring each night and a baby crying on the last night. If you don't mind a bit of noise - the location makes up for it.

Our biggest frustration was communication with Cherith leading up to our vacation. The listing states that a deposit is charged upon reservation, with the remainder of lodging fees charged 30 days prior to the commencement of the stay. Instead, we were charged the full amount upon reserving (which was nearly 3 months out from our stay) and after repeated messages through VRBO, received no response from the owner to clarify why we had been charged.

There was also some confusion about our submission of a signed rental agreement, which is what the owners require before contacting you with directions for entry into the condo. A day before we were scheduled to arrive, we'd not received this information, nor had we been contacted with a reminder to submit it. After reaching out several times and in several different ways, we finally were able to connect and get a copy of the agreement to submit and then we received our entry info. It all worked out in the end, but after having paid in full months early, which we weren't supposed to have to do, it would've been nice to be proactively contacted by the owners if they didn't have what they needed from us to complete the transaction. It left us with the feeling that they would've gone ahead and kept the rental fees and not reached out in advance to make sure we were ready for our stay - that may not be true, but that's how it felt. Communication wasn't easy, and it should've been.

Owner's Response: It's amazing how life throws punches at you when you least expect it. Yes the communication wasn't the best due to our computer not functioning for nearly two months. The rental agreement is needed and it does say that a "personal check is preferred". However if you go through vrbo and want to make sure you get the vacation date you are requesting, you are charged through vrbo the full amount at time of booking. When you go through us, we require a signed rental agreement, a check for $300.00 and 30 days prior to arrival the balance of the rental lodging, tax and cleaning. The condo is perfect! Beautiful furnishings, a king size bed with a comfortable mattress, in the upstairs bedroom, and in the perfect location. Drive to the condo and you are able to walk wherever you need to go. The condo is surrounded by fabulous restaurants! We even gave a $25 gift certificate to a couple on their one year anniversary to enjoy a meal at our favorite restaurant. We are kind, caring folks who want your vacation to be the best it can be.

Now this is relaxing and a great home feeling

Perfect place to stay not in the middle of all the noise but just a few blocks away in a really beautiful neighborhood only four blocks from the train station. The unit was very well maintained and has everything you need except your clothes and toothbrush and a couple of food items but lots of restaurants within walking distance. You really don't even need a car once you're there unless you want to go up to the mountains because you can go biking or canoeing or just shopping and enjoying downtown Durango and walk to the train. The only problem might be for elderly couples or people with a lot of baby stuff and suitcases because to get to the bedroom it is three flights up. Lots of space too!

The perfect spot!

Great condo, great location, reasonable rates! One block from town and within walking distance to most everything. Our first time to Durango and we had a wonderful vacation. Excellent communication with the owner and she ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We'll be back for sure!

Durango is located near Telluride Ski Resort which is only a short trip to get there. Mesa Verde is right up the road from Durango near Cortez, Colorado. Drive down to Ignacio and gamble, or Farmington just 45 minutes away. Up North is Silverton Colorado and its beautiful scenery. Further North is Ouray Colorado enjoy the natural warm waters there and soak all day. Pagosa Springs, Colorado to the East, just 50 minute drive to the hot springs there.

This condo and condo complex is non-smoking. The condo has two security systems; a code to get into the front door of the three plex, then a breeze way entering #202 with a locked door between the unit and the front door of #202. This breeze way adds extra security! The $300.00 refundable damage deposit is due at the time of booking, the remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival. If reservation is less than 30 days of arrival, full payment: security deposit, lodging, cleaning and taxes are due upon reservation. If paying through homeaway/vrbo a 2.9% is charged for direct deposit into our account. This amount will be deducted from your deposit and any other charges incurred while staying at the condo.
