House, 5 Bedrooms + Den, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 12-14)
There is plenty of room to spread out in this beautifully decorated handicap accessible custom-built home that has it all - an elevator, private dock with deep water access to the Intracoastal Waterway, and sunsets made to order. It's a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the beach, ice cream parlor, arcades, mini-golf, restaurants and museum.
The two-story great room with gas fireplace, the fully equipped gourmet kitchen, separate dining room, and second-floor master bedroom all look out over the ICW and canal. Each bedroom has its own attached, private bathroom. A separate den, with queen-size pullout couch, provides an additional place to relax, or can be used as a fifth bedroom. Wireless internet access is available throughout
Our home was built with accessibility in mind. The interior elevator serves all floors. The Green bedroom is attached to bathroom w/ ADA compliant fixtures. All doorways throughout house are 36' wide. The only thresholds are exterior down to decks. (We are happy to provide ramps for those that need them.)
Fish from the private dock with fish cleaning station. Rinse the sand from your toes in the large & private outdoor shower and then sit out on one of the decks or the screened porch and take in the awe-inspiring views of the sun setting over the Waterway.
We built the house that we would want to rent - and are delighted to share it with other families.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HOUSE IS AVAILABLE AS A FAMILY RENTAL ONLY AND THE PERSON SIGNING THE CONTRACT MUST BE AT LEAST 30 YEARS YOUNG.
The use of tobacco products is prohibited in the house and screen porch.

About Bruce & Sandra Lefenfeld
We "discovered" OIB in 2004 while on vacation and were impressed by the friendly people, the low-key feel and the gorgeous, clean beach. A year later when we had the chance to build a house on the island, we decided to build one with handicap-accessible features to ensure that all of our friends and family would be able to hang out there with us. We really do love sharing the place with other families and are honored that so many return again and again to make new memories. We specifically designed the house for comfort. We live there ourselves during much of the year and place a high value on cleanliness and ensuring that things are working properly. This lets our guests focus on relaxing and enjoying their families. The property has plenty of spaces, both inside the house and outside, for people to both come together as well as to find a bit of privacy. The sunsets are often spectacular; the private dock makes it easy to get out onto the water, and it's an easy walk to the Monroe Street beach access, the fishing pier and other mid-island attractions (like ice cream!).

Perfect Place to Call Home
I can not say enough wonderful things about this home. Although my family owns a small home on the mainland I decided to rent this place to accommodate the whole family for Thanksgiving. My mother and I arrived first and were blown away by the accommodations. The pictures do not do this place justice! The sunny open concept worked well for our crew with plenty of space for 12 people and we didn't feel on top of each other. The location couldn't be better as you are a block from the beach and the center of the isle. Since we were coming for Thanksgiving we thought we would need extra cooking stuff but you can tell this place is lovingly used by the owners as everything we needed was already there for us. They truly thought of it all! The elevator was quite helpful with hauling up bags and groceries and the multiple decks and porches were my favorite part! I also have to personally thank the owners for allowing us to bring our pups. When I was originally calling the dog friendly homes asking if we could bring 5 dogs most people hung up on me immediately! Which wasn't a surprise as I am a Realtor in VA and I understand the damages even the tiniest of dogs can cause. They were reluctant but I assured them our pups had good travel manors as everyone in my family owns at least 1 dog and we all travel with them because they are like family to us. I so appreciate your trusting in us to take good care of your home. We so enjoyed our time together and if we were to build a home on the isle it would be exactly like this one!
Great "Going Away" Vacation for Son & Family
We planned this vacation as a time to spend with with our recent HS graduate, who is leaving for boot camp in just a few more weeks. We had a total of 11 and we all were comfortable in the spacious home. We specially liked having dock access for our jet skis and kayaks. My mother-in-law was even impressed! (I'm usually much more "low-brow" then her taste prefers.) Our dogs were even thankful for being allowed to stay when our dog-sitters became unavailable last minute. We will be back again whenever we can get our whole family together again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.
Immaculate and lovely!
Our family had a wonderful stay at this property. It is clear that the owners take great time and care into preparing their home. The house was not only *immaculate* (including cabinets, cookware, blankets, floors, etc.) but also spacious and bright. The views of the canal and Intracoastal Waterway were beautiful and we could see the ocean from the upper deck. Prior to our arrival, the owners answered all of our questions promptly and professionally. We had no issues with the house during our stay and everything was exactly as described and pictured. We could really tell that the owners wanted to create a relaxing environment for their renters. Thank you Sandra and Bruce!!
Loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom!
Our family had a wonderful time. We loved that each room had its own bathroom! And the elevator helped out great with my parents. An the house is so close to everything. We just loved the views from the living room, dining room & the top sun deck. We look forward to coming again.......
The most amazing view from the dining room.
My family had a really relaxing and wonderful stay at this very spacious and beautiful home. The many sitting areas, both patios and the backyard led, to many very relaxing special moments for everyone, in my extended family that live far from one another. We brought our kayaks and were able to kayak through the surrounding marshes and on the Inter-Coastal waterway, which was so amazing. You can also fish right from the dock and my brother was thrilled to catch a fish almost immediately. The favorite part of my stay was waking up at sunrise and sitting at the dining room table looking out over the water with my cup of coffee and reading my local paper on my IPAD. I have stayed at many VRBO's in the past five years and this is by far the best!
Loved this house!
We have been coming to Ocean Isle Beach for many years, and this is by far our favorite house we have ever rented. The views from the house are spectacular , the house is located near the beach and shops, the elevator made it easy to bring in everything. The owners made sure the kitchen was well stocked , it was very nice! We had lots of family in, ages ranged from 1-84...and everyone enjoyed the house !!
The beach, ICE CREAM PARLOR, the Museum of Coastal Carolina (which is also the site of free outdoor concerts in the summer) and the OIB Community Center which runs activities for the kids on the beach, the pier, restaurants, a children's playground, and bike and kayak rentals are all less than five minutes away (by foot). Myrtle Beach is only 30 miles to the south, and historic Wilmington is 40 miles to the north.
