From our comfortable lanai seating you have a full 180 degree view of the islands of Molokini, Kahoolawe, Lanai, and the West Maui Mountains while enjoying your morning coffee, evening cocktail, or anytime meal. Walk along the secluded beach a mere 60 steps away and experience beautiful sunsets framed by swaying coconut palms while being serenaded by tropical birds.
When you come to Maui you want to be as close to the ocean as possible. They can't build this close to the ocean anymore which is exactly what drew us to this unique property on a quiet road in a private neighborhood one block off of busy Kihei Road. We completely remodeled this condo in 2015 in a comfortable contemporary style with classic Hawaiian art and all new appliances and furniture, with a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful new bathroom, and a comfy Cal king bed.
Our beach is very secluded and private. There are no public facilities here (bathrooms, showers, parking lots, etc.) which keeps the crowds located at other beaches. It is also considered a "baby beach" which means it has little to no waves (unless there happen to be strong wind conditions or storms) and the water is shallow for a very long time until you reach the reef. There are SO MANY different amazing Maui beaches, and we want you to see them all! Some are perfect for boogie boarding, snorkeling, surfing, kite & wind surfing you name it... our beach is better suited for escaping the crowds, children enjoying the calm shoreline, swimming, sunning, paddle boarding, relaxing, walking, and enjoying stunning sunsets!
Meanwhile, just a block or two away, are many convenient amenities including Times Grocery Store, Long's Drug, numerous restaurants, retail shopping, nightly musical entertainment, live local theater, a health club, medical clinics, “Kihei 4th Fridays” Town Parties, and much much more. It's just a 10 minute drive to Wailea and 17 minute drive to the Kahului airport (OGG).
Kihei is home to some of the most fabulous beaches on Maui! We provide everything you will need for beach comfort: Tommy Bahama Beach chairs (2), Tommy Bahama Beach Umbrella (1), LARGE beach towels (4), igloo cooler (1) so you won't have additional rental costs for that equipment to enjoy our many beautiful beaches. If you wish to rent snorkel gear, boogie boards, SUP's (Stand-Up-Paddle), surf boards or other gear there are many rental vendors located nearby.
Sleeping for 2-4: Bedroom area features a very comfortable Novaform Memory Foam Cal-King Bed. There is a Queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room with additional bedding in storage ottoman. There is no door separating the bedroom from the hallway leading to the rest of the condo, but the closet, bathroom and kitchen areas are located in-between the bedroom and the living room providing a nice buffer zone separating the 2 sleeping areas.
There is a 43” Smart Samsung HD Television (4k) in the living room, with cable service w/DVR, free Netflix, and DVD player.
There is an air conditioning unit in living room. There are ceiling fans over the sofa in living room, and also over the Cal King bed in bedroom.
The kitchen has been fully remodeled with new cabinetry, quartz counter-tops, eat in breakfast bar, stainless steel appliances, water filter in refrigerator, ice maker in freezer, microwave, dishwasher, Cuisinart coffee maker, professional cookware, toaster, plates, cups, flatware, etc.
There is a bistro table with 2 chairs outside on our lanai area. This is easily our favorite spot to hang out. We find it hard to go to restaurants anymore since acquiring this condo, because we have THE VIEW... and prefer to prepare and/or bring most of our meals here.
The bathroom has new cabinetry with granite sink vanity. There is a hair dryer in the bottom drawer. Tiled shower/tub enclosure. Shampoo/Conditioner/Shower gel dispensers in bath. There are hooks in shower to hang wet bathing suits.
Condo property has 2 BBQ areas on either side of building, a gated pool, coin operated laundry (8am-8pm), poolside lounger chairs, and some of the most amazingly beautiful ocean views available. Parking is free.
Our condo is a 2nd story unit. We unfortunately do not have elevator service at this time.

**HKOK House Rules For Guests And Owners
Aloha! Welcome to Hale Kai O'Kihei! Whether this is your first visit or you are one of our returning guests, we hope you have a lovely stay. To make your visit and that of others enjoyable and safe, we ask you to observe our house rules. The HKOK Resident Manager is available to provide clarification and assistance on the house rules, and to receive concerns. Hale Kai O'Kihei is a pet free environment.
Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am. - Remember that each room facing the parking lot is a bedroom. Limit loud talking in the parking area and frequent car-door closings. If your rental car has an Owner's Manual instructing how to shut off the horn when locking your car, or if you can use the “lock” button inside, it would be appreciated by all.
Laundry area hours are between 8am and 8pm. - There is a change machine in the laundry area, which takes $1 and $5 dollar bills. We also have a small library in this area. Feel free to choose a book to your liking, and leave one you've finished!
Gas barbecue hours are between 8am and 10pm. - Gas barbecues are located at the north and south sides of the building. Instructions for lighting and turning off are located at each location. Use the brushes provided to clean grill following use, as a courtesy to others and place trash in the receptacles provided. No portable BBQs or Hibachis are permitted.
Pool hours are between 9am and 9pm. - The swimming pool is locked at all times. Your pool key must be used to enter and exit the pool gate. This key also fits the south gate and breezeway washroom. Pool rules are posted on the fence. Children under 12 must be under the direct supervision of an adult, who is inside the fence.
Shuffleboard hours are between 9am and 5:30pm - For the enjoyment of all guests, adhere to the “good etiquette” rule when playing, by keeping noise to a minimum and not making reckless or hard shots.
Dumpsters - All trash must be wrapped or bagged.
Garbage Disposals - Garbage Disposals operate best when not over filled. Ensure that banana and pineapple skins, papaya seeds, citrus peelings and any other fibrous items are disposed of in the trash.
Lanais - Sitting on lanai railings is prohibited, as is dropping any items from lanais to the ground below. Towels, bathing suits and articles of clothing must not be hung on lanai railings. Lanai chairs may be utilized but no clothing or laundry should be hung in doorways or windows and no clothes lines suspended across lanais. Storage of items such as lockers, coolers, trunks, boxes, bicycles, surfboards and appliances is not permitted on walkways. Lanais should be kept tidy to keep the building appearance pleasant and keep in mind that strong winds can carry away loose items.
**It is a wise policy to lock your lanai door when away from the unit, or retiring at night.
Lawn Chairs - Our lawn chairs are for use on our lawn and deck only and are not to be taken to the beach or sand areas or inside the pool fence. Return them to the patio edge when not in use.
The lawn area is Hawaii State Beach Reserve and is public land. The HKOK Resident Manager cannot ask anyone who is obeying the law to leave the lawn area.
Parking Lot - If there are no open parking stalls please utilize street parking until the Resident Manager can resolve the problem. Vehicles are not permitted to back into the stalls to eliminate exhaust fumes from entering the unit windows and doors as well as support our one-way flow of traffic. Do not repair vehicles in parking lot, except for small emergencies.
Please don't feed the birds - Do not feed or encourage their visits – it will be appreciated by those units above and below yours. Local cats and dogs may also stop by, and should not be fed.
If you are in a 2nd or 3rd floor unit, and have small children in your party, please inquire with our Resident Manager at the front office to borrow a safety screen to install on your lanai railing, for additional safety.
Running is a natural activity; however please walk in and around the parking lot and building including stairwells, breezeway and pool.
Throwing of balls, Frisbees or flying kites on the lawn is discouraged, due to safety concerns of other guests. Please use the beach or the ocean side of the palm trees to enjoy these activities.
Smoking - In accordance with Hawaii state law, the common area of Hale Kai O'Kihei within 20 ft of the building is designated a smoke-free zone. Smoking is prohibited in these areas, as well as on lanais. Please use the designated smoking area on the parking lot side to ensure the satisfaction of all of our guests. Most units are designated as non-smoking.
