It is just steps to Maui's Keawakapu Beach (literally 1-minute walk on paved sidewalk, no car needed) and is now available as permitted vacation rental. Steps from the best sandy swim beach, Maui Mango Cottages offer a local experience for visitors who want privacy and space adjacent to Wailea Resort amenities including restaurants, golf, spas, shopping and a 3-mile-loop beach walking path. The island-style beach cottages sit on the border of Wailea and Kihei offering the best of both experiences. Mature mango trees have provided shade and fruit to the landscaped acre of land for more than half a century as the cottages were some of the first dwellings in south Maui. Enjoy space for your entire family or up to 10 when you rent both cottages.

Window A/C units throughout, all the amenities of home with island inspiration -relaxing lanai, kitchen stocked with all the utensils and dishes, and mango trees providing shade and mangos for breakfast in season. The cottage is one of two houses on the 1-acre property with a large landscaped yard and parking. Beach chairs and boogie boards are provided and carried easily down the sidewalk the short 1-minute walk to the beach.

Very clean house with HUGE yard and super close walk to a very nice beach. Quiet and private. Our kids loved picking mangos every day and walking to the nearby beach. Lots of room for our family (one shower for all of us was only minus, but we knew that when booking). Overall great stay and location!

This was our second time staying here. We came back for the easy beach access to an amazing beach! The house is on a large lot that feels very private. We love the outside patio and ample parking. The check in and out was easy and we plan on returning again.

The Cottage was great. Just what I was looking for. A cozy home feel with large rooms and privacy. It was close to the beach a block away and within walking distance. The cottage was centrally located on the island which made getting around easy.

Had everything you could need. Right across the street from the beach. Provided beach chairs and towels. Nice to have a washer and dryer. Bedrooms were large with full closets and dressers to unpack into. Provided laundry baskets as well. Had a full bathroom plus a half bath out back. The fresh mangos were a treat. Really enjoyed our stay.

A great place for a family vacation in paradise.

Stayed in the cottage comfortable with my wife, mother and theee kids. The Beach next to cottage is short walk, beautiful, and kid friendly. Great sunsets from that beach. Beds are cozyand kitchen works for cooking. Great grill as well although honestly we ate out a lot with all the high quality restaurant options. Cottage has a huge backyard with fruit trees. Neighborhood is really nice and laid back.

Tons of space with everything we needed. The location was peaceful and quiet. The cottage was very clean and hassle free with incredibly comfortable beds! The short 1 min walk to the beach allowed a carefree minimal driving vacation. Keawapaku Beach is beautiful, clean and family friendly. We loved seeing the same locals every day on their regular dog walks. Coffee on the beach in the mornings and wine at Sunset!

We have been blessed to stay at the Mango Cottage for the past 3 years and look forward to every future visit. We just love the location and amenities as we take our kids across the street to Keawakapu beach. South Kihei road is a few steps away and full of restaurants, grocery stores, and local shops. We **LOVED** the mango cottages. It seems absolutely no expense was spared in making this place very, very accommodating and special. This place is just a quick walk to the beach. A great beach to spend the day and watch the sunset. Also, a short drive to the grocery store and restaurants. It's a simple cottage with all the basics provided. It was clean and a great place for my family to spend some time together. Loved the neighborhood, we went for a run every morning. It was a pleaure dealing with the hosts. They are very responsive and answered any questions I had. If ever return to this area, I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay

Accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable. Feels like more than 1000 sq ft and has fabulous outdoor dining lanai option. Location is AMAZING. Big snaffoo getting in. Check your junk email people, look for message from random previously unmentioned management company that doesn't mention VRBO, Kihei or other key words, so doesn't show up when you search and didn't know to look :(( Thankfully someone was quick to respond when we found a management phone number on the permit sign at the property entrance. Other than the first 2 hours we had a great time. Would go back.

Beach At It's Best

There are actually two cottages at this location and I've had the absolute pleasure of staying at both! There is a one bedroom that served me well when I was with one other and a three bedroom when I traveled with friends. Walking distance to one of Maui's most beautiful beaches for swimming, sunset, running or oceanfront dining. A huge yard with incredible privacy. A super quiet setting with beautiful foliage and mature fruit trees. This kind of beach cottage in the islands is the perfect combination of old meets new. Appointed with all of the conveniences of home and a touch of that beach cottage sheik that is tasteful and cozy. I felt like I was staying at a best friend's home who looked after my every need. If you're looking for a place that makes you feel like you actually live on Maui, this is the place. The upscale resort destination of Wailea with it's shopping and dining options is a stones throw from this special location and it's 30 minutes to the main airport. Easy day trips to Haleakala or Maui's upcountry small towns. One hour to Ka'anapali and the historic town of Lahaina for a change of scene. I would recommend to anyone and would definitely return, given the opportunity. A rare find on Maui!

Mango cottage 2

The good: Incredible location with awesome beach access and great parking! Place is huge with lots of room! The bad: Very difficult to communicate with the management. We came from another condo mid trip and had a long "bridge" day with a car full of bags and kids. Asked for early check-in which was refused. Asked if we could leave our bags so we could get around with our rental car for the day and they refused that also. We purchased an expensive BBQ dinner (meat, etc) but when we went to prepare it, the grill had two empty propane bottles so we had to make other plans for our meals. When we notified the managers, we never heard back from them. No garbage can all week (was left full on the road) so we had to walk our garbage over to the other place each day. 10 AM check-out is too early at this price. This was a very expensive place to stay for us and I'd hoped for a little more communication and hospitality from the managers along a better prepared place. Food is so expensive on Maui so the BBQ might seem minor but it was disappointing as was the lack of response when told them and the stern, unyielding nature of their check in/check out process. From the reviews this is a very popular property so I guess we had a little bad luck. We still made the best of it and had a wonderful vacation. I hate leaving anything negative on reviews so we hope this can be taken constructively. We are so easy going and rarely have any issues with our stays.

This place is perfect if you're looking for proximity to a wonderful Maui beach. About a 2-minute walk from a spectacular beach, and another couple of minutes up the beach to an amazing snorkeling reef. We saw turtles every day. Also very close to all the Wailea resorts for fancy dinners.

Private, Spacious, Close to Beach

We loved staying at the cottage. Mornings with coffee on the lanai were the perfect way to start the day. The yard is huge and private, set back far from the road. The walk to the beach is really easy and there were good snorkel spots within walking distance. The cottage was stocked with snorkel gear as well as the boogie boards, which we used a lot. The kitchen was really well stocked and we ate most of our dinners at the cottage. The a/c units are loud but we got used to them. The extra half bath and the laundry were definite pluses, as were the two king sized beds. Overall, a really great vacation destination.

The cottage is in a great location and just a two minute walk to the nicest beach in Kihei! Very convenient to all shops and restaurants. The covered lanai was great and the yard is large and tropical. Overall the cottage needs a deep clean, carpet and upholstery cleaning, fresh paint and could use renovations in the kitchen and bath which are very outdated. The four window AC units (3 are brand new) are very very loud. Windows cannot be opened in many rooms because of the AC units. The cottage would benefit from spilt/wall units instead which would be quiet and more efficient.

Great location, very loud air conditioning

We had mixed feelings about this place. As others have said, there is a great beach a few minutes walk away, and the backyard is huge and lovely. The house itself is dated but comfortable. The thing we disliked - and the reason we wouldn't stay again - was the air conditioning. We specifically booked a place with AC in each bedroom so that we would sleep comfortably at night regardless of weather, but the window units in this house are so loud that there's no way we would have slept with them on. We mostly left the windows open at night, which was ok but not ideal in November, and would have been rough on a hotter week. Also, the twin bedroom doesn't have a window that opens since the only window has the AC unit in it, so in that one you pretty much have to do AC. So yeah, if you're looking for cool + quiet at night, I wouldn't pick this place, but if you're ok with either loud AC or no AC, it could be a good choice.

Our time at the Mango Cottage

Renting the property was easy. The only problem was when I started getting emails from Coldwell Banker asking for arrival info there was no indication of a connection to the VERBO property., so until I called and found out it was the management company for the Mango Cottage I was loathe to give them any info.
