We are snowbirds and love Vero Beach. We live in Vero Beach 6 months of the year and enjoy the glorious sunshine and beaches that our beautiful area offers. When not in Vero Beach, we live in our beloved coastal Maine. We have rental cottages there (also on VRBO), in the lovely Pemaquid Point Peninsula on coastal Maine. If you have never been to Maine or would love to vacation in another special location, look no further, please contact us for more information. 518*573*7838
Why Laura/Joe chose Rock Ridge
Vero Beach, aka: 'Hibiscus City', is a town of 15,000. Its motto is: "Where the Tropics Begin". Our town centers around tourism (And we offer terrific amenities) the citrus industry (get the freshest citrus in the world right here) and service industries (which cater to you, our guests!) Come visit, explore, and enjoy the gorgeous white sandy beaches, upscale 'and' the casual beach life we offer. Vero Beach consists of many lovely neighborhoods both on the barrier island (accessible by bridge) or the mainland. You are never more than 2 miles from the prettiest beaches the Treasure Coast has to offer. Vero Beach has a mild climate with an average temperature of 73 and an annual high of 81 and and an annual low of 65. Vero's 3 main public beaches are South Beach, Humiston Park, and Jaycee Park which is adjacent to Conn Beach. These beaches are lifeguard protected from 9am - 5pm daily. There are 26 miles of oceanfront shore in Indian River County. Vero Beach also has other free, public access trails and walkways with beach access such as Riomar Beach, Sea Cove, Sea Grape Trail, Sexton Plaza and Turtle Trail. We have top rated restaurants, shops and activities just waiting to be enjoyed! We stayed at this awesome property for the 2nd time, the entire month of March. The property is as described and pictured, although some of the furniture has been updated. It has all the basic kitchen supplies, a dishwasher so it’s really vacation, lotsa plush towels and comfy beds & bedding. The cottage was clean & neat upon arrival; no odd smells or bugs!!
The front lanai is perfect for morning coffee or reading. The back patio & grill great for dinner, lounging & cocktails . The location is the best of both worlds: Mainland & Barrier Island. The cottage is on the mainland but under 1 1/2 miles to beautiful sand ocean beach! I rode my bike to the beaches. The house is also close to grocery stores, restaurants ( regular, chain, & high end) convenience stores, etc.
We enjoyed kayaking from Round Island, Riverside Park and from the Jungle trail. We biked the Jungle Trail and the Lagoon Greenway. We went to the Riverside Theater, an independant thester & saw a great production of “Gypsy”. Also attended “Under the Oaks” juried art show and “Ribfest”at Riverside Park. Went to the McGee Gardens, under 1 mile away- beautiful! Laura, the property manager is responsive, easy to get hold of and professional.
We love the location, casual atmosphere and privacy of the house. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly- we had fun dinner with neighbors. As this was our 2nd year here we did come back and loved every minute of it! Both the heat and ac work great, but mostly we used the ceiling fans for temperature control. The driveway had plenty of space to store our kayaks & bikes. I highly recommend this property!
Had a wonderful time at Cottage. A delightful place and the location perfect. Will would definitely go back.
Awesome Location! Casual but perfect!
My husband & I recently stayed at the Rose Mallow Cottage for a month. It is as advertised and was clean and neat upon arrival. The owners are easy to work with & very responsive. While there we hosted my 90 year old dad and another week 3 college kids. Worked well although tight with 5! The location has EXCELLENT access to the bridge to go to the barrier island and ocean beaches. Swimming, kayaking, tennis, MacGee Gardens are handy. The cottage is close to 2 Pulbix and other stores and resturants. The cottage is casual & informal but has everything ya need: comfy beds, lotsa towels, functional but sparse kitchen, laundry, and TV room- even a couple beach chairs. The front Lanai and the back patio are GREAT! Small palm trees around parts of property provide some privacy. Very Quiet Neighborhood! We'll be back!
Month with Mom
Spent month at Rose Mallow, cute cottage in Vero with my 80+ year old mother. The cottage was perfect for the two of us. The location was great because we had easy access to shopping, beaches and parks, great restaurants and hang-outs like Waldo's on the beach or the Kilted Mermaid downtown. Also there were excellent medical establishments available for my mother's on going out patient care which was important to us. Additionally, we found Vero to be an excellent destination in Florida because it still has a bit of laid back charm without being too busy.
