Cozy 1-bedroom Kemp Cottage in peaceful Islamorada, perfect for a romantic getaway.

Kemp Cottage - The Kemp Cottage is located in Turtle Cove, Islamorada's quaint enclave of five cottages all with their own personality and characteristics. All five cottages share the property's amenities: pool, boat basin, tropical sprawling grounds, ping pong table, kayaks, paddle boards and more. This romantic garden studio cottage is nestled into lush tropical landscaping. It is perfect for a couple's getaway or a writer's retreat. The Kemp Cottage can be rented separately or in combination with any of the four other homes.
If booking more than a year in advance current prices may not reflect the annual cost of living increase.
Many of our guests' re-book the same property on an annual basis. No reservation is confirmed until you speak with us.

Please note: before proceeding with your booking, kindly review the following information. This property is managed by a local Islamorada rental company, Freewheeler Vacations. Payments for your vacation rental will be made thru Freewheeler Vacations. You will also see a charge from VRBO which covers their booking service fee which is already included in the total cost. We prefer payments via personal check or eCheck. However, if you opt to pay by credit card, a 3% convenience fee will be applied to your rental. You will receive the Freewheeler Vacations Vacation Rental Agreement via email, which must be signed before your arrival. All future correspondence will be made through Freewheeler Vacations.

Sue, the host, was very attentive. Everything was wonderful. There is a great selection of water free for guest use. We used the paddle boards and got to see a manatee. Would definitely recommend.

Host Sue was wonderful. Just attentive enough. The bungalow was charming and in a private setting. Neighbors were rarely seen, even at the pool. It was a quiet and beautiful location. The pictures don't do it justice.

A cute cabin, centrally located in Islamorada, with lots of mature trees making it very private. The property has a nice pool with views of the ocean. The kitchen has everything you need, and while it’s a small space, it’s extremely functional. Will definitely stay here again.

A week in paradise

What a wonderfully peaceful retreat this cottage offered. The location was quiet, private, and beautifully landscaped with tropical trees and foliage. The kitchen was well-equipped and the cottage artfully decorated. The pool was heated and the ocean view magical. Conveniently located, we had easy access to everything we needed on the island

This place was perfect. We were lucky and had the whole property to ourselves. Everything was just right and the pool was fantastic. I would stay here again with no hesitation. Sue our host was the best. Fresh pie in the fridge upon arrival and great communication. 10/10 would recommend.

Great Getaway!

Cute little studio cottage. It was clean, and well appointed. I would say the same thing about the grounds of this property. Well landscaped, very tropical. Sue was very responsive with the couple of questions I asked. Would definitely reccomend and would stay here again!

Perfect Romantic Getaway

The cottage we stayed in was beyond beautiful, nestled in the middle of the property but still seemed very secluded. Included more amenities than listed on the site which was such a pleasant surprise- outdoor shower, grill, W/D, full (small) kitchen with all the gadgets. Perfect for our honeymoon getaway. The pool was wonderful and access to the kayaks/paddleboards a plus! Sue was so inviting, called to make sure we were OK getting down there and the check-in was effortless. She even dropped off delicious keylime tarts!!! Great proximity to so many shops, marinas, restaurants, so much to do - but still a private place to quietly go back to enjoy R&R. I highly recommend for any romantic getaway!

Paradise Found

My husband and I have been coming down to Islamorada for 20 years mostly with family. This year we decided to get our own place just for us. I stumbled upon Turtle Cove and was thrilled when I saw the Kemp Cottage was available and that we could bring our boat. What a fantastic cottage! It was actually bigger than I thought it would be. Everything was pristine! Huge walk in shower that I was not expecting. Washer and dryer in our cottage. Two small refrigerators were perfect for our needs. There was not one thing that we needed. This place has it all! Loved waking up each morning and having my breakfast on the large deck. And the outdoor shower right off our deck was awesome! The whole property is amazing from the pool to the grounds. The storage room that has all the “toys” was like a beach store! Not one thing I could think of that wasn’t there. They even had a crab bucket for us to take for fishing! And Sue was the best host. Always replied to my text right away. 5 star!
