This home was so centrally located for day trips all over southwest Ireland - out of the hustle and bustle of a city but very nearby to go into Adare or Limerick for dinner. For a family with small kids, it was great - they slept in the bedroom right next to us upstairs and had a wonderful fenced backyard to run around in while we got ready in the mornings. It’s a simple home but had everything we needed to be comfortable. Thank you!
An absolute pleasure to have you stay. Thank you for your kind words. You are most welcome anytime.
Great home, warm hospitality
We had a wonderful stay at this home in Limerick. The directions to the house were very detailed and Mike was ready to greet us and give us a tour as soon as we arrived. We loved staying on your quiet country road and the plum tree was a hit with our family. Thank you for hosting us, we would recommend this house to others, especially families.
Our pleasure to have you stay. The perfect guests and most welcome again any time.
The kitchen smelled musty-the sink and basin were very dirty and I bought cleanser to clean it, but it still smelled. Although advertised to sleep 5 people-there were not enough dishes, bowls or even silverware! (I dug up 2 extra spoons from a container under the stairs.) There was a very small fridge/freezer. A kitchen chair is broken, the toaster is broken, the burners were rusted and one burner hardly worked. The Wifi worked, but barely as we had to take turns checking email. The house needs a good cleaning, some new updated furniture and appliances with more dishes and silverware if you are listing this for 5 people staying here.
Amazingly when we checked and checked again, the toaster worked and the cooker is working perfectly. When the dishwasher was emptied, there was enough cutlery and bowls for the next guests (who gave us a five star review). And the guests after them again said they were sorry to have booked elsewhere on their travelling vacation and wished they'd stayed in our home throughout! There was indeed a chair broken, but the remaining five plus another three for guests hopefully would have been enough for five? The Wi-Fi is perfectly adequate for texts and emails, there is no fibre-optic broadband around, being in such a rural area, which by the way, may have been something to do with the 'musty smell' you encountered in the middle of a record heatwave. The house is immaculate and the sink is always cleaned with Milton Sterilizing Fluid, a famous trusted brand in Ireland. And as for updated furniture and a small fridge freezer, that's completely subjective and frankly scratching around for cheap shots. Potential guests please don't assume this is a large corporation with endless cash-flow and Wi-Fi for downloading movies. This is an Edwardian-era crofter's house in the Irish countryside designed for relaxing. My late father's childhood home. My Uncle and Auntie, who were most offended by this poisonous dross, are the finest hosts you or I could ever hope for and live next door for any concerns you may encounter. 15 years of good reviews are no fluke. Stay lucky, don't let the trolls win.
A very comfortable and convenient stay outside of Adare
While not luxurious, this house was very comfortable and met our needs during a three day stay for a family wedding in Adare. Uncle Mike lives right next door. He was flexible in working out a time to meet and show us around the house. Having him next door was very convenient later in the stay when I asked about how something in the house worked. We feel the price we payed was a very good value for our needs. Thank you again Uncle Mike!
The perfect guests. Hoping to see you again. Thank you for your kind words.
Great Spot for traveling the south west side of Ireland.
This was a great spot for our family of 5 to be able to stay while we traveled throughout Ireland. The boys loved the big yard to be able to play ball and get out any unspent energy. Mike was such a pleasant host and great in bringing us fans for the unprecedented heat. Thanks again for a lovely stay!
Truly wonderful guests. Most welcome to stay anytime. It was a pleasure to have you stay.
Comfortable, well fitted out and good location for touring.
Comfortable character cottage in quiet location near main roads for touring the area and the west coast. The owner Ray, and his uncle Mike from the house next door were quick to respond to queries and always cheerful and helpful. Some furnishings were a bit dated but the cottage was well fitted out to meet guests needs for a week or more stay. Having a good size fully-equipped country kitchen with table and chairs was a key feature. Location is near beautiful Adare village with quaint cottages, good food and music.
Wonderful guests. Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope to see you again.
