Terrific house for family.
Five minute was all to the water. Twenty minutes to swimming beach (Tunnels).
Well equipped spacious kitchen. Great baths. And you are on the North
Shore of Kauai.
We had our adult children plus spouses. The house was perfect easy walk to beach and loved being able to hear the ocean.
If I was going to return would definitely rent it again.
Nice property - good for couples traveling together
Nice location with great layout for couples traveling together. Loved the two identical master suites (nobody had to argue who got the better room). Good supply of kitchen supplies. We cooked almost all out meals at the house - saving a ton of money. Also, plenty of beach chairs and towels were provided for our group. If you're a TV watcher (we weren't except for game 4 of the World Series), be advised that you can't fit more than a few people comfortably in the seating area. Take your own aux connector or bluetooth speaker to listen to music. Finally, the property management company was very responsive to responding to our issue with propane for the bbq.
We would definitely rent this property again.
Great location on the North shore
The house was in a great location, had a well equipped kitchen, very clean and enough coffee and toiletries for our stay. The fresh flowers were a nice touch, too. We spent the majority of our time on the lanai, as the living area did not accommodate the six of us (three couples) and there was no air conditioning in the common areas. The fan on the deck was helpful when there was no breeze. Tunnels Beach was our favorite beach and was a 15 minute walk or just a few minutes drive away. We enjoyed the beach just behind the house to relax and read books, watch the sunrises or have a nice evening stroll. There is new house being built directly behind Hale Ala Moana which impedes the ocean view and there is no direct access to the beach from the property. A three minute walk using the beach access down the street is not the end of the world, but just be aware that even though you are only about 50 feet from the beach, you do have to go down the street to the beach access to get there. The house is well suited for two couples traveling together, as it has two equally beautiful and large master suites with air-conditioning and patio doors to the lanai. We were a party of three couples, so here lies our problem. The third bedroom is very small, as is the third unattached bathroom. We realized before booking that one bedroom wouldn't be as nice as the other two, but we didn't think it would be that big of a problem. But not only was it small, it did not have air conditioning making it very uncomfortable to sleep at night even with the ceiling fan and available portable fans going. The window opens up to the front of the house so if anyone is coming up the stairs they can see in the bedroom. We all decided to just use the back stairs so the couple in the small bedroom didn't have to keep their curtain drawn---as that window is your only chance of a slight breeze. Our group has traveled quite often together and we understand that things are not always equal but a person really felt shortchanged when in that room. We made it work by switching bedrooms during our stay so one couple did not have to have the "bad" room the entire time. Part of renting a house for 10 days is the joy of being able to unpack and feel at home there, moving rooms kind of interrupted that flow. That being said, the rest of the place and the location was nice enough that I would stay there again--but only if we were traveling as two couples.
Beautiful home in Haena.
We booked this home at the very last minute because of Hurricane Irma. The home is located in a residential neighborhood north of Hanalei. Stunning and well appointed with large bedrooms and bathrooms. Tile floors throughout. Everything you could possibly need is here for you. The home is not on the beach but access is just steps away. The home is very secluded. My one and only complaint is the lack of air conditioning in the living areas. We knew about it but experiencing it is another. If there is no breeze blowing and you're not in the bedrooms it is stifling. Thank goodness most days we were out exploring. Kee Beach, Tunnels Beach, and Haena Beach Park are a short drive away. If you love the quiet north shore then this beautiful home is for you!
Mahalo Elaine. On the North Shore, typically it is cooler and there are trades that keep things cool. At least the AC in the bedrooms keeps the bedrooms cool so one can sleep well on those nights with no trades. That said, we will pass on the message to the owner. Glad we got the chance to host you and look forward to a return visit at some point in the future. A hui hou.
Amazing. Large and luxurious home. Fantastic location. A short walk from a local quiet beach.
Incredibly well furnished .Close to several stunning beaches and start of Na Pali trail. Lovely town, Hanalei, a few miles away. Peaceful and relaxing. A gem.
