Oz is 1 of 5 resorts in the Grandes Rousses region offering 123 pistes, 84 lifts and 245km of ski slopes up to a height if 3330m. Almost guaranteed snow! This region is a good all round resort for skier and snowboarder alike. 770 snow canons ensure an easy ski back to the village throughout the season.

- Notes on accommodation: The apartment has private WiFi, underfloor heating, a ski locker, free parking for 1 car (additional places available). Ideal for children - good tobogganing around the chalet within view of the apartment. The resort has a day nursery from 6 months and a "ski garden" from 2 years. The ski school, 50m from the apartment, has excellent English speaking instructors. Children can play in total safety in this car free village. Restaurants cater for children and several offer takeaway pizzas and other options. Outside: Direct access to the ski slopes/lifts. Private indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and gym for use of guests. Good family restaurant opposite. Other restaurants, shops and bars are an easy walk. Lifts run in the summer offering good walking and mountain biking opportunities. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen, towels and cleaning are included. Cleaning and fresh linen is offered weekly. A manned reception area will be able to help with any problems and offer advice in English. Other: The apartment enjoys views from balconies at the front and rear of the apartment. There is also a private ski locker next to the door leading to the piste.

I work part time for a national charity in Buckinghamshire where I live with my husband and 2 children. We bought this apartment from new so that we could enjoy active holidays winter and summer as the children grew up. Now "young adults" they have had many excellent holidays in the mountains with us and with their friends - they never fail to delight in demonstrating their skills and speed on the slopes! They have both learnt to ski and snowboard in Oz to a high standard. We have particularly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the village and the local people are extremely helpful. We always receive glowing reviews about this "best kept secret" in the alps! Perhaps the biggest surprise is the range of activities available in the summer for all age groups and in particular for teenagers. We have "endured" canyoning, via ferrata, white water rafting and mountain biking in the pursuit of family activities and have had great fun. Tennis, walking, canoeing and cycling are easily accessible and also great fun for all the family. As we like to avoid busy locations in school holidays, Oz has been a fantastic find for us and I would recommend it to anyone!

Why Liz Wright chose Oz-en-Oisans
Our apartment has a unique position at the edge of the village overlooking the pistes. We have an uninterrupted view over the mountains and can watch skiers return after their day out as they ski back into the chalet. Having spent many years carrying skis and poles to the lifts in other resorts, having bought this apartment where it is possible to ski directly to the lift in the morning and straight back in the afternoon to the ski locker; carrying skies whilst on holiday is now a thing of the past! Comfort is also important to us and the apartment is always warm with plenty of hot water. This is a holiday home from home for us so we have ensured that there is plenty of storage in the apartment, there is a full complement of kitchen utensils and comfortable chairs both in the apartment and on the balcony. We have installed a free WiFi service in the apartment. No need to take your devices to the open WiFi services in the village. The apartment is managed locally by an excellent team of people who are able to help and advise clients allowing you to fully enjoy your time in Oz.
What makes this apartment unique
Location, location, location and the views from the apartment are spectacular! Private free WiFi in the apartment. There is also free access to the swimming pool, sauna and small gym located in the adjacent chalet. It is also possible to book a table in the excellent restaurant, la Ferme d'Oz next door for the entire evening if you do not want to cook and would like the service offered by hotels. The food is first class, they cater for children and the set menus are reasonably priced. Without having set sittings it is possible to amble down at your own convenience. The owner is Belgian and speaks perfect English! We also have an arrangement with the local private ski hire shop who offers a discount to our clients, speaks perfect English and offers an excellent friendly service. Ski school (ESF) is also next door so for young families, parents can maximise their time on the slopes whilst the children are in lessons. In fact, Oz actively encourages families by offering low priced family ski passes. With no cars allowed in the village, Oz is an excellent location to bring a family!
