Large Elegant Edwardian Property in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Brookfields is an elegant Edwardian property built for the local wine merchant in 1902. It is a light and spacious house with great views of the Shropshire Hills. Having recently been extensively renovated it enjoys both the benefit of period features with all the modern amenities we have come to expect. Beautifully decorated and furnished to provide a lovely comfortable environment in which to unwind. With a large lounge, spacious dining room and a good sized, modern, very well equipped kitchen the property is ideally suited for that special gathering of family or friends. Set in large grounds with outdoor seating areas including an elevated deck the property has ample off street parking. Just on the edge of town in a quiet residential area the property offers a great location to access the local amenities, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, antique market, railway station. Great location for walking the hills or touring the many attractions of Shropshire and Mid Wales.

Great weekend in a lovely place

We started with a friendly, helpful check-in and found a lovely selection of bedrooms to chose from. The lounge was snug and comfortable and the kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed to prepare our meals. The house is set in a really nice area with plenty of good walks nearby, a lovely town and handy local shops. We had a great weekend and would definitely go back again. Thank you

Reunion weekend

Comfortable rooms and a welcome number of en suites and bathrooms! Well equipped kitchen and large dining room for groups. Good location - easy access to shops and lots of excellent walking and scenery to hand. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their stay immensely and would recommend to anyone looking for a large group stay

Stunning house in wonderful position

A superb house with excellent facilities. It contained absolutely everything you could possibly need and was extremely well positioned for all local amenities. Lots to do and see in the area and the walks were stunning.

Beautiful property in a lovely area accessible very quickly by walking or by car. House was well equipped, clean and spacious. Hosts were on hand and very helpful.

Very happy stay

11 mature friends rented this lovely house in a glorious setting and had a wonderful time it was spacious , clean, with ample dishes, pans etc for us to cook and prepare great meals. Would definitely recommend

Fantastic property

12 of us stayed for my daughters hen weekend, the property is beautiful, stunning views from huge garden, Church Stretton is lovely village with plenty to do, Shrewsbury is just 13 minutes on train, the house has everything you need and more, owners very welcoming, we will definitely be back with friends, thank you 😊

Fabulous house for large family!

We used this property due to its location and size. It could accomdate 10 adults (4 couples and 2 singles) quite comfortably. Great space for us all to relax during the evening but also lots of walking routes to get out into the countryside. The house used to be a b&b, so most rooms are en suite. Large catering kitchen with LOTS of crockery! 2 dishwashers came in very handy!!

Great property!

Superb base for our group of friends to meet up and explore the area. Hosts very communicative and helpful. Only issue we had was some rooms didn't heat up very well but we were provided supplementary heating. Perfect for a large group and very well situated for town and local hikes.

50th Birthday Celebrations

The house was perfect for celebrating a special birthday with family and friends. The kitchen was equipped with any gadget you could possibly think of, as well as plenty of crockery and cutlery for a group of 13 people. The hosts were very welcoming and informative, and there is plenty of parking available at the property. The town of Church Stretton is a short walk away with lots of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. We visited for a weekend and would not hesitate in returning for a longer visit in the future. Thank you!

Family Gathering

The property was large, well equipped and comfortable. Some furnishings were a little tired, but we knew the property was to be refurbished following our stay. As a party of older adults it was great to have en-suite bedrooms for everyone and importantly a ground floor bedroom for one of our party. The owner was very friendly and helpful and on hand should we need her.

Week away with friends

Lovely spacious property in ideal location fir shops and other amenities. Well equipped kitchen and en suite bedrooms, although one en suite shower was broken. No fault of managers as they were waiting for a plumber. James and Julue very professional and helpful.

Amazing stay , beautiful location , very spacious house

The property is large and spacious . Very clean and has all the amenities you need. Its 10 min walk to church stretton wirh lovely shops and pubs. The bedrooms are all spacious and clean and was perfect group of 12 of us. The lounge and dining area is more than adequate for 12 people. 2 dishwashers was definatley a great idea. The hosur was a warm and cosy and we were lucky to wake upto snow on the saturday. The hosts were amazing and friendly and hleped us out with a few key issues were caused ourseleves. They live adjoined to the property which helps. Loved our weekend break and will look to stay again in the future if i had another group booking .

Birthday weekend for 12

Brookfields was the perfect property for a getaway for a group of 9 adults and 3 children. We had everything we needed in a warm, comfortable and nicely decorated large Edwardian house - with wonderful views everywhere. Everyone had a comfortable room, beds we're just right and bathrooms modern. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals for a large group. I wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend. Julie is a great host and was on hand before the trip with answers to my questions. A fantastic weekend away in a wonderful part of the country which was made even more special by staying in a lovely property.

Lovely big house for a family party

We rented the house to celebrate a family birthday and we all (8 adults, a teenager and 2 children) had a lovely time. The house was clean and very comfortable, the garden was big enough for the children to explore and play while the grownups enjoyed the view from the sun loungers, and Church Stretton is lovely for a stroll and very close by. There’s also a nice play park just across the main road. The layout was great, with each bedroom well-sized and either en suite or with its own bathroom. The way the bedrooms were set out also let us group each family group together. Most of the bathrooms looked to have been recently refurbished and had lovely big showers. Only thing that would have been useful was a few more hand holds in the showers - there were some in the downstairs ‘accessible’ room but none in any of the others, and that meant one older member of our group was unable to use their shower. The downstairs rooms looked recently decorated and carpeted: great kitchen, comfy sitting room with enough sofas for all and a dining table big enough for everyone. Some of the furniture is older and well-used but to be honest, with a 2 year old and a 6 year old that was quite a relief! Kitchen is very well equipped and the two dishwashers were much appreciated. Plenty of crockery etc. Great stay and we’d definitely book again if we needed a large property for a get-together.
