A private tiny home camper in the garden:
This is a cozy and sweet vintage travel trailer, lovingly named "La Piccina" (the tiny one), that has everything you need for a pleasant and comfortable stay- all in a very tiny, minimalist space!
There is a full size bed with a very comfortable 10-inch memory foam mattress for 2 guests. There are 2 bunk beds with camping pads. They are ideal for children, though adults have slept on these! Please note that the space on the bunk is very snug! If you have no need for the bunks, then they can be used for storage. The dining table converts to a bed as well and would hold a camping pad. The maximum number of guests is 4 (for example, a couple and 2 children), however, a 5th could use the dining table. This tiny home is ideal for a single guest; however, we welcome parties of more than one guest, if everyone is accustomed to tiny spaces. Please contact me to discuss if there is more than one guest in your party.
The kitchen includes: Refrigerator with freezer, gas stove with four burners, counter-top convection oven (for toasting, baking, and broiling), and coffee maker. Organic coffee and filtered water are included.
The bathroom includes a full-size shower head and has normal water pressure for an enjoyable shower. The RV half tub is reminiscent of a Japanese soaking tub! Presently, the hot water tank is 6 gallons, so we encourage our guests to limit their shower time. Also, please allow for recovery time for the water heater when taking turns. Organic soap and shampoo are included in the camper.
There is ample lighting, primarily LED, and a radio/CD player is available. There are windows throughout, including skylights. There is an air conditioner and a space heater.
Enjoy a cup of coffee on the outdoor seating on the redwood patio deck, which is an additional 100 sq. ft. of outdoor living space. Solar powered lights light up the space in the evenings. You are welcome to enjoy the view of the bay, San Mateo bridge, and Mt. Diablo in our outdoor living room, by the front of the house.
There is a trampoline in the backyard, near the camper. You are free to use it! My kids use it only during the day.
We are in an ideal location, close to hwy 101 and 280, and public transportation. We are 20 miles south of San Francisco, 30 miles north of San Jose, 36 miles west of the Tri Valley and 11 miles from half Moon Bay and beaches. We are 11 miles from SFO.
If you must use public transportation, Sam Trans #53 passes close to here. The Caltrain station is 1.5 miles away. You can park there or walk there. Keep in mind if you walk, it is a rigorous walk back up the hill. The train is a 20 minute ride to SF. I can send you a referral code for either Lyft or Uber for a free ride, if it is the first time you are using their service.
A little more about the location: You are within walking distance to the Laurelwood shopping center which includes Piazza's grocery store, and several eateries. The College of San Mateo, and Laurelwood Park, which has hiking trails, are nearby. There is also a farmers market at CSM on Saturdays featuring lots of organic produce.
Our perfect guest is someone who loves life and sharing good conversation. We enjoy learning about different backgrounds and interests! While we would love to share our space with you, and are likely to invite you to join us when we are around, we also appreciate very self sufficient guests! We are a very busy family and need our guests to make themselves at home, take care of themselves, and be respectful of our home and other guests.
We do not allow any smokers or smoking on the property, inside or outside. Also, we have no TV, so bring your laptop!
A little about us: We are an active household, homeschooling our young children. We speak English and Italian in our home and we have a passion for cooking. We love to experiment with gluten free international vegetarian cuisine. We love art, books, gardening, inventions, entrepreneurship, and creativity in general. The animals in residence are fish inside the home and four lovely chickens who are in the backyard, near the camper.
We enjoy sharing our knowledge of the Bay Area, so please feel free to ask for advice. We also love sharing our California Academy of Science membership with our guests. This allows free entry for one adult and all children.
When you make a booking request, please make sure to include:

d) confirmation that you have read through the description of the accommodation you are requesting to book.
We look forward to meeting and hosting you!
