This updated oceanfront cottage, situated on a very private 1.6 acre lot, has everything you need for a romantic getaway, relaxing family vacation, or just to get away from it all. Located on Vancouver Island's beautiful, rugged southwest coast, it is a scenic 1 hour drive from Victoria and a 25 minute drive from the town of Sooke.
This quintessential west coast cottage is minutes away from world famous hiking trails and several beaches - French, Sandcut, China, and Mystic to name a few. Point No Point Resort is a short walk away for lunches or an evening meal. Port Renfrew with Botanical Beach, Avatar Grove and the start of the West Coast Trail is an hour's drive away.
The cottage, with a large outdoor sundeck, overlooks the beach and ocean below. The well equipped kitchen includes a full size fridge, stove top, toaster oven, microwave oven and a coffee maker. On the sun deck there is a Weber BBQ along with a table and 6 chairs for dining outside. The inside dining area has a table and benches that can seat four comfortably. There is a full bathroom with bathtub and shower and two bedrooms - one with a double bed, the other with two single beds. The living room has a comfortable sofa, an easy chair, and an open wood burning fireplace. Each room has electric baseboard heaters. There is also a very small, low loft for young kids to play and hideaway in.
Below the cottage down a set of well constructed stairs you will find a private, secluded, lower deck that offers a spectacular 180 degree view of Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Peninsula. It is the perfect place for relaxing while reading a book, watching the surf, winter storm watching or taking in a stunning sunset. The beach is just a few steps below.
There is a good selection of games and puzzles and plenty of firewood is available for cozy evening fires. While there is a phone for unlimited local calls (includes Victoria) there is no cell service in the immediate area and we have purposely left the cottage without internet, WiFi, or cable so guests can hopefully connect more with nature and each other during their stay.
