Wonderful getaway to Portuguese village

The house is amazing, and the owner, very helpful and accommodating. This is a glimpse of paradise, lively private patio, yard and plants with quiet private authentic decor! A short drive to any restaurant or miles of lively beaches! Obrigata Cristina for a wonderful visit and glimpse of Portugal!

little bit of peace and magic away from the hub of tourists

wonderful fairy tale like home to stay in. really felt like home away from home. private. loved hearing the roosters,dogs and cats every day. neighbours wsre friendly. gardens were beautiful. everything we needed was there for us and christine was easily accessible. 5 to 10 minutes you could get groceries. 15 to 20 minutes lots of beaches nearby. christine left us with beautiful fruits etc as a welcome! just lovely.

June in the Algarve

This property was a dream. Cristina's thoughtful touches make an already charming home feel like you're staying in a boutique hotel. Getting to meet Cristina and enjoy the wonderful welcome spread of snacks and wine that she left for us was just icing on the cake! We stayed for a week, but could have easily stayed longer. The charcoal grill is wonderful and allowed us to enjoy the beautiful courtyard even more (such beautiful landscaping!), and the village is so quiet and relaxing. We went to the beach every day, exploring different ones in the area, and this home was a perfect base. It's only 20 minutes away from some of the prettiest beaches of the Algarve. The town of Algoz is charming and has a small Spar and some nice bakeries if you don't feel like trekking to a larger store (though Lidl and Aldi are only 15ish minutes away). One slight negative is that the wifi basically becomes unusable at night (maybe due to higher traffic/remoteness of the village?) so don't expect to stream movies before bed. But we honestly didn't care as it meant more time playing games in the courtyard. I would also recommend a small car as the village roads are excitingly tiny, but we loved buzzing around in our little Corsa. Anyway, don't hesitate to book this home, it was such a pleasure!

Traumhaftes kleines Häuschen mit schnuckeligem Garten

Wir waren eine Woche in der Algarve und haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Cristina sehr genossen. Das Haus hat wirklich alles was man braucht, sogar einen super Grill. Cristina hat bei der Einrichtung einfach an alles gedacht. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und der Garten traumhaft. Die Lage ist gut, ohne Auto ist man aber aufgeschmissen. Kleiner Wermutstropfen: das WiFi ist ziemlich langsam.

Another stay in paradise

Just returned from our holiday at the house for the fourth time and hopefully we'll be back again soon. The lovely house has always been perfect in every way but this time we got the icing on the cake, a brand new Kamadojoe BBQ - absolutely amazing (for those unfamiliar with the make it's the Rolls Royce in charcoal BBQs) Thanks Cristina for another wonderful stay.

Uma casinha encantadora, muito confortável limpa e bem cuidada!

A casa da Vó Eliza é e espetacular, tem tudo o que você precisa e mais um pouco , não nos faltou nada! O jardim é tão bonito, que da vontade de dormir fora de casa! Apesar de ter uma excelente cama de casal muito confortável. Cristina e Max nos receberam muito bem , nos ofertando com um adoravel lanche na chegada ..... E sempre que precisamos estavam prontos pra nós ajudar com informações etc. Sem dúvida é a melhor opção da região! Obrigado Cristina e Max!

Sehr süßes, kleines Haus mit Terrasse und allem was man braucht!

Kleines, süßes Haus in einem kleinen Dorf. 15-30 Minuten zu verschiedenen Stränden und Städtchen. Supernette Gastgeberin. Alles, was man braucht, vorhanden! Jederzeit wieder :)

What a beautiful house!

We stayed in Cristina's house for three nights and it was a delightful time. The house is beautifully furnished and superbly equipped all in the highest quality. The outside space is lovely too with plenty of seating and flowering plants. A real little gem!

Absolutely lovely country house

We definitely had one of our best stays ever in Cristina's house. The interior was lovely, very well equipped, even the kitchen with everything you're dreaming of. Also it was absolutely clean and the air con was also a plus. The garden is an extra room where one could stay the whole day, relaxing and barbecuing while being surrounded by beautiful flowers. We will definitely come back!!!

a quiet beauty

algoz is a quiet little town in the hinterland of the south-western algarve and makes for a very good starting point for discovering the southernmost part of portugal in every direction. both the house and the garden behind it are designed and taken care of with an incredible eye for details—from the extremely well equipped kitchen to the cosy living room, the comfortable bed, a car port / yard and a garden in full bloom in the second half of july. cristina and her husband massimiliano couldn't have been more friendly and generous hosts. we enjoyed the taste and style of the house as well as their uncomplicated way of communicating with us. if you are looking for a place to stay in the algarve and want to avoid the heavy tourism areas close to the coast, consider this a real gem.

A tranquil delight

We have just returned after spending a wonderful fortnight at the house.This was our third visit and we hope to return again. As before, it was perfect and there is nothing Cristina could do to improve anything. It's the ideal bolthole, with it's lovely garden, in which to relax and recharge the batteries. Algoz is quite close with a few bars, shops and restaurants but a car is essential for getting out and about as the nearest beach is about 15 minutes drive away.

A house full of comfort, character and charm

The house turned out to be even more charming than portrayed by the photographs. The owner had gone to a lot of trouble to make visitors feel very much at home and the house was clean, well maintained and exceptionally well kitted out and welcoming; there were so many nice little touches - impossible to list them all. A choice of restaurants was just a short drive away as were other facilities such as shops and banks.

This beautifully restored and deceptively spacious little house is extremely well equipped & furnished to a very high standard. As a previous reviewer mentioned 'the pictures really don't do it justice!'. Lovely walks around & about. The nesting swallows on the covered terrace were an absolute treat too! Also can heartily recommend Restaurant Leonel's in Algoz, 3 min drive or 20 min walk.

Mehr als perfekt

Wir waren über Sylvester in dem Haus. Die Ausstattung ist wirklich perfekt, alles was man brauchen könnte ist vorhanden (und sogar noch mehr). Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich. Unsere Woche war sehr schön, das Wetter war hervorragend. Am Abend braucht man aber auch an der Algarve eine Heizmöglichkeit. Mit den Klimaanlagen hat das funktioniert. Das Haus ist in Wirklichkeit noch schöner als auf den Fotos.

Just Perfect

For two oldies, 67 & 65 this was perfect place to stay. Well equipped, delightful and very helpful owner, quiet and secluded. As dedicated self caterers this had every piece of kit we needed. All this plus glorious weather made for an excellent holiday.

A hidden gem

Casa Avo Elisa is a hidden gem set in a tiny traditional village on the outskirts of Algoz amidst beautiful orange and lemon groves and vineyards. It is stunning. The photos do not really do it justice. It has been renovated, decorated and furnished to the highest possible standard and with great flair. Cristina has thought of everything. It was perfect in every respect. We spent many enjoyable hours relaxing on the sun loungers or in the comfiest of outdoor chairs and had many a bbq and had it been warmer in the evenings would have relished sitting round the table under the shelter. Cristina was very welcoming and we knew that she would have been there for us if we had experienced any problems. This is the perfect retreat. A car is essential if planning on getting out and about.

Lovely place to stay

This was the first time I had booked through this site and the owner was very kind and helpful. The house was just as described and is decorated to a very high standard and kept very clean. The house is a short drive from the big shopping centre at Guia and is close to Albufeira and Armacao de Pera. The Satellite TV works well as does the WIFI and the house is in a quiet village so traffic noise is a minimum. I would happily stay there again and would recommend the property to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful house to stay in while exploring the delights of the Algarve.

very comfortable restored cottage

I chose this house for my in-laws that wanted a nice place for their holiday in the Algarve. The house is perfect for a couple that likes walks in the countryside, while experiencing the traditions of living in a small traditional Portuguese rural village. The house itself is beautifully restored to a very comfortable high standard of finish. The quality of the mattress, bedding and towels are of a 5 star hotel, with also a robe and slippers. The kitchen is open plan into the living room and is fitted with quality appliances and has plenty kitchen utensils. The outdoor space is big enough to park your car and stretching on the sun beds. There also is a nice outdoor space for dining or have breakfast by the garden. The owners are very accommodating and even ask you what days and time you would like the cleaning lady to come. Highly recommended!

Wonderful holiday residence

Wonderful holiday home!

10 out of 10 for this beautiful, peaceful, country cottage. Casa Avo Elise is an oasis of calm close enough the the beaches of the Algarve yet distant enough to be in the heart of the countryside. The house is perfect for a couple looking for a real Portugese holiday. It's a 20 minute walk to the nearest town which takes only a few minutes to drive. The garden is totally private and not overlooked - perfect for lazing and sunbathing. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and provided everything you could possibly need to rustle up some home cooking in the superbly clean and well equipped kitchen. The bakery van pays a visit to the hamlet and the bread is not to be missed. The bedroom is beautiful with lots of wardrobe space and the shower room is lovely too. The photos don't do the house justice. You can drive your car (car fairly essential) into the driveway and close the large gate to secure it within the garden ground. We would highly recommend this perfectly equipped property and look forward to a return visit.

Really nice place to stay

We booked this villa as a last minute, so glad we did, the facilities are to a high standard, the villa was spotless, everything you needed when taking a break. Cristina the owner is very friendly nothing was to much trouble for her. As the description says, you are only a short drive to shops restaurants. This villa is in a small hamlet, typical portugese village 10/10
