Excelente ubicación, alojamiento muy espacioso dividido en dos pisos con una gran sala de estar de planta abierta en el piso superior y 4 habitaciones muy amplias en la escalera 2 de las cuales son suites. La propiedad está a las afueras de centro de la ciudad de Newquay así se beneficia de un entorno un poco más tranquilo. Varias playas están a poca distancia o unidades muy cortos gran ubicación para surf o natación playas. Excelente ubicación para explorar todo lo que Cornualles tiene que ofrecer.

Excellent property near beaches

Excellent property near beaches and within easy, flat walking distance into Newquay town centre. Listing was 100% accurate and host Ian was very responsive. Would highly recommend and we will be staying again.

Family holiday at Newquay August 23

A spacious house ideal for a family. Having 2 on suite bedrooms and a double also bedroom with 2 singles . Good location near to shops and several beaches . We enjoyed our holiday at this comfortable house .

Fantastic apartment near 2 beaches.

The apartment is within the grounds of Glendorgal hotel, on a private headland with access to Porth beach and Lusty Glaze (love that name!) beach. The bedrooms are big, with blackout blinds fitted over the windows and doors and 2 are ensuite, with a family bathroom for the other 2 bedrooms. Loads of outside space, including patio areas off some of the bedrooms. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk into Newquay town centre, but you pass plenty of shops, bars and eateries on the way.

Good base for surfers

This is a very practical base from which to explore the northern coast of Cornwall from. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area has doors to decking areas each side and having three shower rooms downstairs meant no one had to wait too long for a shower when returning from the beach. Our teenagers had excellent surfing lessons on the private beach, although this was the only time we could use it. If you walk passed the hotel (which is currently closed) there is a great spot to watch the sunset from the headland. We had a very enjoyable holiday.

Fabulous!

Highly recommend this beautiful house. Property is spotlessly clean, bright and airy and fixtures and fittings of a v high standard. Everything has been thought of to make for a comfortable stay for all the family. The owner is so helpful and responds quickly to all questions and is v accommodating to all needs. We stayed over the New Year into 2023 and had a truly wonderful time. Location is great, near the beautiful Cornish coast and a number of beautiful beaches. Walking distance to shops and restaurants too but good parking and well positioned to visit neighbouring towns. We had no problems at all and can’t wait to return. Excellent value for money. Mould

Extremely disappointed. Property had 4.6 stars and reviews were good but they clearly mean nothing. Bedrooms and bathrooms were downstairs - as soon as you opened the door to go down, the smell of damp hits you. None of the bathrooms are ventilated and so there is a lot of mould. The mould is so bad that it's also on the doors into the bathrooms. The mould has clearly been a problem for some time. The property was also dirty - not well cleaned, crumbs all over the floors, in the drawers in the kitchen and there were lots of ants. The property was also quite tired looking. Despite this reviews state that the property is "spotlessly clean, bright and airy and fixtures and fittings of a very high standard". This is not a true reflection of the property and very misleading. The owner agreed to refund but said he was unaware of the mould which is hard to believe as the property was available to rent as soon as we checked out. Mould is very toxic and we felt ill after just a couple of hours being in the property. We had to check into a Travelodge for the first night of our holiday and then seek alternative accommodation. This made our holiday very stressful and we felt like we needed a holiday when we got home. Very disappointing as the property is in a great location. This was the first time using VRBO and I have to say I'm very dubious about using them in the future as I have never had a problem like this using other holiday rental companies.

Easy & comfortable stay in Newquay

We stayed at Ian’s property for 10 days while visiting family in the area. There was a slight issue with completing the pre-rental clean, but Ian’s communication was clear and proactive and the situation was resolved promptly. Location is great - close to Porth beach and easy walking distance to the centre of Newquay. Property is well equipped & comfortable. Overall would recommend.

Lovely spacious house in a perfect location for us. Close to a couple of beautiful beaches and main town walkable too. Ian responds almost instantly to questions and queries - great communication. We will definitely be returning - we had a fab holiday in Cornwall.

Great space and location

This was a fantastic staging point for our Cornwall visit. We day tripped from here and enjoyed coming back to the beach every night with everything you need to enjoy a meal at home. Very spacious and definite plus with a washer. Would use again!

Fantastic Getaway

Our stay at House 17 was fantastic. The house was very clean and had everything that you needed. Plenty of space, indoors and out. The location was great and we loved to sit outside the hotel bar at sundown… perfect! Would highly recommend!

Really lovely house in a great location

This is an extremely comfortable house in a super location. Three excellent showers, four very nice double bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, nice outdoor area, very comfy seating, good wi-fi and TV! I cannot find fault with any of it - and we've stayed in a LOT of Cornish holiday houses! 10/10. Ian was really easy to communicate with and this is a great house.

Beautiful location

Our stay at house 17 has just come to an end. The location is perfect and lends itself well to visiting many beaches. The house is very comfortable and there was plenty of space for 6 adults to all stay comfortably without getting in each others way. Kitchen is well equipped and the terrace out the back is lovely when the weather is good. Visitors just need to be careful of the slippery decking out the front when wet. There are also some loose boards. Overall, a lovely stay.

A wonderful and much needed break

The property is warm, spacious and comfortable, with good facilities and really close to Newquay and the beaches. The nearby hotel has closed, leaving reduced parking, but we always found a space for the 2 cars in our group. Another door key would have been useful.

A comfortable, large holiday let in a 10/10 location

We just returned from a week in this holiday let. The house is very large more than enough for the 6 of us (plus dog). It has all the basics you need. The beds are very very comfortable. Loads of bathrooms. Owner was quick to respond to any issues and resolved them quickly. And a lovely very friendly/helpful cleaning lady. The location is what sells this property. I can’t stress enough how beautiful and perfectly positioned this house is. Just outside of the main town of Newquay and right in between 2 awesome (less busy) beaches. You can see why lusty glaze has won best beach, and that’s under 5 mins walk away!! The house is set on the glendorgal self catering/hotel site. Everything is within walking distance you could just fly down and stay here without a car the location has everything you need. Shops in Newquay, so many beaches in the Newquay area all within walking distance. This was our first visit to Newquay but it definitely won’t be our last.

Great stay!

Just spent a week in this property and had a thoroughly good holiday. We decided to do a re-visit having spent a week last year too.Loved the alterations the owner has made to the property. Once again lovely spacious rooms for my family to enjoy themselves and just a great location. Would recommend as a great family holiday home.

Great location

The house is great and well thought through for a stay at the beach. The location is faultless - very near wonderful Lusty Glaze beach and Porth beach too. One thing to notice is that it isn't very easy to see where the property is. The map tends to show it on Lusty Glaze Road - this is a bit misleading. You need to turn into the little turn-in signed Glendorgal Hotel and then the little holiday lettings (self-catering) are on the right before you get to the hotel itself. The rooms are great - and the bathrooms are lovely. No DVD player. I'd go back for sure.

Really enjoyed it. Weather was better than expected. We had a power problem which was fixed almost immediately. There was also plenty of space at the property for the 5 of us.

Great location. So close to 2 lovely beaches.

Starting with the negatives, comments exactly the same as the previous review. We too brought BBQ food and had to go and buy a disposable BBQ. On the positives the location was absolutely perfect and walking distance to both Porth and Lusty Glaze ( dog friendly). We (including our 3 children) also easily walked back from Newquay beaches and restaurants. House very spacious and well equipped and Ian very responsive to any query. Idyllic part of the world and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks Ian.

Perfect location and good value, but couple of niggles

We loved this property in terms of amenities, size and location. Just a couple of points let it down - signs of previous flood and strong stale water smell from the utility room that affected the third bedroom and BBQ was encrusted with rust and mould so totally unusable, which was a problem as we had brought food to BBQ. Very annoying as we could have brought our own if we had known.
