Cottage in St. Teath, Nr. Port Isaac, Cornwall, England - Central Village Location, 10 Minutes Drive To The Coast
About Dianne Cox
Di and Trish (we are sisters) have owned Church View for 6 years. Having holidayed in the local area, since childhood, with our parents, the North Cornwall area has always been very dear to our hearts. We have just returned from the Middle East, and are, at long last, enjoying a lifelong dream in this lovely village, where the warmth and welcome from the local residents has been unbelievable. Church View is a wonderful old cottage which was in desperate need of a total overhaul when we purchased it. In the last two years, it has been completely renovated and is now a much-loved, comfortable, cosy home. We have left it well equipped, and sincerely hope you will enjoy your stay in it. Please look after it for us, and leave it in the same condition in which you find it upon arrival.

Why Dianne Cox chose Saint Teath
Having holidayed in the area for 50 years, it has been a lifelong dream to live in this beautiful, rugged part of North Cornwall. St Teath is in a perfect position to enjoy the many, varied delights of the area. Close to the coast and the popular village of Port Isaac (Doc Martin's home), it is still very much a living, country village, within easy reach of, yet away from, the crowds and bustle of the popular tourist destinations.

A little gem of a cottage
Just got back after spending a week at the lovely Church View cottage. The owners only live less than 100 yds down the road, so getting the keys etc was straightforward. And what a little gem this cottage is - we all fell in love with it at first sight. It was really spacious and really was a home from home for the week. Everything we needed was there, and then some - such a well stocked kitchen with most gadgets needed for a self catering stay. I particularly loved the quirky curved rooms leading to the dining room and the one upstairs which I used as a dressing area. The garden is so pretty too, although we didn’t get to use it much because of the overcast weather on most days, but the dogs loved venturing around in it. We also made use of the quiz and board games which are located in the office area. The village the house is located in is great and central to most of the places we wanted to visit. The local pub, the White Hart, has very friendly staff and we ate there on two occasions. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Dianne and Trish on our first night at the pub, and had a lovely chat with them - both are such delightful ladies. If we are ever to come back to Cornwall then I will have no hesitation whatsoever in booking Church View for our stay again.
A wonderful time.
The perfect Cornish cottage.
Beautifully presented character property. Much larger inside than expected, with ample room to relax
The property is set centrally in a small hamlet, with a well stocked shop, cafe, butchers and public house all within a stones throw.
The property is immaculate in every way with quality fittings throughout. The kitchen is much larger than expected, well equipped and a fabulous mix of new and period styling.
The kitchen leads to a partly covered patio area via two steps and is totally private with a table and chairs. This in turn leads to the garden, accessed by about five steps, is large well maintained and dog friendly with two small ponds and another table with chairs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful cosy cottage
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage during the Summer holidays. It was much bigger than we expected and the children were very excited as they had not stayed in a property like this before. It has a beautiful garden to the rear and we really enjoyed using the log burner at night. It was lovely and clean and the host provided some great advice for dog walks and pubs to try etc. It is in a great spot to explore the North of Cornwall. Recommended
A fabulous location, stunning cottage and wonderful owners.
Thanks so very much for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage. It could not have been better equipped nor more cosy and welcoming and the garden was wonderful. We have already recommended the cottage to some of our friends and hope to be able to stay in it again soon. Thanks also to the both of you for being so thoughtful and helpful. We were also struck with how friendly the village was and really loved the little village cafe and pub. A truly lovely place to stay.
The rugged North Cornish coast is a within 10 minutes drive of St Teath. There are pretty, fishing villages to explore (Port Isaac and Boscastle to name but two), surfing at Polzeath or Trebarwith, windsurfing or kite-surfing at Daymer Bay on the Camel Estuary. If you're feeling energetic, a walk along the spectacular coast path is a must, or maybe a leisurely wander with your dog along Daymer Bay to Rock and then catch the ferry across to Padstow. All within 20 minutes of the cottage.
Owing to lack of public transport, a car is a necessity to access facilities and amenities outside the village.
