Cottage idyllique à côté de la rivière, Betws Y Coed avec vue pittoresque

Le chalet Glanrhyd a été restauré avec sympathie par des artisans locaux utilisant des méthodes traditionnelles et des matériaux respectueux de l'environnement. Bien qu'authentique et traditionnel, le chalet bénéficie de tout le confort moderne. Le chalet est conçu avec goût et idéal pour les couples exigeants qui recherchent une pause romantique et la solitude. Cependant, il peut accueillir confortablement jusqu'à quatre personnes dans deux chambres doubles aux extrémités opposées de la propriété, ce qui permet de l'espace et de l'intimité. Nous proposons un tarif réduit pour un couple célibataire partageant selon la saison.

Le jardin du chalet borde la rivière Conwy, tandis que le jardin est clos, nous recommandons vivement aux familles avec enfants ou à un chien.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the garden more. Comfortable and clean and very quiet.

Excellent countryside location ideal for relaxing holiday

Beautiful cottage with countryside and river views. Large open garden ideal for relaxing in the evening after exploring snowdonia. Short 20 minute walk to pubs and restaurants which was perfect. The cottage had everything that we needed for a comfortable relaxing stay. Would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful cottage, excellent hosts

The setting could not be more perfect for this beautiful holiday retreat. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom is particularly lovely with a double ended bath and ample hot water - a must after walking many miles in the stunning local area. The hosts are responsive and very helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Wonderful cottage in a beautiful setting.

We have had a wonderful stay. The cottage is well equipped and spacious. We were out climbing each day, so were happy to stay in at night to cook and relax in front of the log burner. The kitchen had everything we needed. It really has been like home from home. The surroundings were beautiful and the location central for exploring Snowdonia. We will be back. Thank you.

Excellent in every way

Everything about this property was perfect for us. Beautiful setting, so peaceful with only the birds and river for company. Easy walking distance to the village. Loved everything about the cottage too, really tastefully renovated with a photo album to show how it used to look! Lots of extras from dishwasher tablets to a huge basket of logs made this place feel very welcoming. As you can tell we loved it and got excited about our return there each day 😃

A great property, just a few wrinkles

Overall we really liked the property, it’s in a great setting near the river and close to the town, a lovely walk over the suspension bridge. It was a little tough to find from the road initially but no great drama. The house is very pleasant, high ceilings and exposed beams in the main rooms make it feel larger than it is. In terms of things that could be improved, the kitchen has high quality pans and utensils which is great but there’s so many that it’s actually hard to use them, thinning that out would be good. The lack of a stand-up shower is a bit baffling to be honest as the water pressure is great. The dining and sitting room furniture is starting to show its age and wasn’t super comfy but fine for a week. There aren’t any drawers in the bedrooms which was a bit of an inconvenience. These are all relatively minor, the main issue we had was the fusty smell, particularly in the bedroom nearest the drive. Not sure of the cause but we had to have windows open quite a bit to keep on top of it. As I say at the top, a great place, but it’d be superb if these points were addressed.

Perfect countryside stay.

A very beautiful cottage, beautiful location that’s clearly well maintained and tastefully decorated / furnished. Good facilities for our stay (2 adults and a 7yr old) comfy beds, plenty of space for football in the garden or sunbathing and good cooking facilities for eating in. Woke up one morning to a buzzard sat outside the window and another to see a heron fishing in the river! Beautiful! Nicely located away from the madness of Betws-y-coed but walkable(ish) for dinner / shopping.

A lovely spot!

What a lovely location for a holiday home! We stayed for one week in July and explored the nearby National Park. It was a fantastic base for us to reach Snowdon, Bala, Conwy and LLandudno. The house was well eqippped and generally suited our needs well. The area down by the river was nice to enjoy a drink or a BBQ. We wished we could have read a little more about the immediate area. Usually, we’d enjoy browsing brochures or personal recommendations but this was definitely a missing touch. Thankfully there was brilliant internet connection so we were able to find a way around this. Another hurdle for us was the ‘shower’ which in essence is a bath with a rinsing tap! We ended up taking a bath every morning /evening and then rinsing with the shower or having to wash hair whilst leaning over the bath. Admittedly the bathroom looked the part but the fact that we couldn’t grab a quick shower certainly irritated me, especially as the week went on. Lovely bed linen on both beds - in fact it matched our own back home! Loved the towels also. We were slightly put out by a text message from the owner on our journey home to query sheep poo on the driveway. We were happy to explain that the sheep had managed to find their way over a wall, along a bank and into the driveway (and did so frequently) but it felt somewhat intrusive to have had a text message about this. A friendly email on our return, enquiringly if we’d enjoyed our stay, thanking us for following the cleaning list diligently and ironing out any further queries would have felt more welcome. Overall, we had a lovely stay and we have raved about the location of the house to friends and family. The communicative side of things could, in my opinion, be improved upon. Wonderful Vacation Home

A beautiful home on a gorgeous site with secluded garden patio right on the river. Convenient to hiking trails restaurants and other very interesting destinations, ie castles famous rail ride to Snowdon summit. Home met all our needs; well appointed kithen and comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Place

The cottage and surroundings are stunning. Sitting listening to the river running outside and taking in the view was heaven. The location is great for visits to the mountains and waterfalls and despite the weather not being at it's best we had a fantastic break. Would definitely like to get back there to do it all again

Beautifuly situated cottage

The house has a beautiful situation overlooking a river surrounded by fields. The house is very cosy and suits two couples very well. The only negatives I have the tricky turning into the property on a busy road but clear instructions where given how to manage this. Also the walk along the busy road to get into o Betws y Coad, don’t forget your touches at night. Overall a very relaxing place to stay, we all would be happy to visit again.

Nice cottage in good location with a twenty minute walk to the town centre.

We stayed recently at the cottage and really enjoyed ourselves there. The cottage itself is well equipped with everything you need. We had a little trouble with the hob as the lighter for the gas wasn't working although we did eventually find a lighter but after several days of burnt fingers this wasn't ideal. However, I'm sure the owner will fix this for the next visitors as he was very positive about this when we reported it to him. The interior could do with a little spruce up as several walls have splashes and marks on the walls and it could do with a fresh coat of paint. Despite these small points, the location is very good for the town of Betws-y-Coed and it is an easy walk to the town centre (but not for those who don't like a nice walk). We would definitely go there again and the little points I've mentioned wouldn't put us off using this cottage again.

Thank you for your review. After a long busy summer the cottage is in definite need of the TLC we have embarked on this week. Fortunately the gas hob wasn’t broken, the electric fuse to the side of it must have been inadvertently switched off sorry about that. We’re happy you are likely to return one day!

Fantastic winter break in Snowdonia at a perfect riverside cottage.

We were revisiting Snowdonia to enjoy it's winter delights. We had a fantastic few days staying at Glan Rhyd cottage nestling at the side of the River Conwy. the cottage was perfect in every way, and was an ideal base to explore Snowdonia and North Wales. It was peaceful and wonderfully equipped, and the views from the front garden of the ever changing river were idyllic. It's close enough to Betws y coed for all it's amenities and eating choices, yet still felt remote and unspoilt. The owners had thought of everything and were really helpful, couldn't recommend it more.

Fantastic find

We have just finished a glorious week at Glanrhyd cottage in Betws y Coed. It's location is a short walk from town but is secluded enough to make you think you are in the heart of the countryside with only the noise of the gurgling river at the end of the garden and the baa of the sheep in the field next door. The cottage itself was the perfect size for us and our 2 dogs. A place to both relax and to use as a base to explore the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. We will definitely be back 😀

Comfortable , secluded cottage, great position next to the river

Had a relaxing time, spent one whole day sitting reading by the river- perfect. Other days spent walking in the area. Only minor complaint is that the provision of towels was not very generous - 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels between two of us for a week seemed a bit mean, but maybe that's just me!

I've been fortunate enough to own Glanrhyd Cottage for approximately eight years.

I have been visiting this area for many years and instantly fell in love with the ruin and always hoped to own it, so when the owners offered it to me I jumped at the chance.

It has been a labour of love as the cottage was a complete wreck when we purchased it with a tree growing inside, we spent two years restoring it with a lovely local traditional builder.
