About Peter Alvey
I live in Bristol with my wife and two children. We love Trevone for its great beaches, surfing and selection of good places to eat out. We don't think you can beat the North Cornish coast for a really relaxing time, something about the salty air, beautiful sunsets and great vistas.
Peter Alvey purchased this Cottage in 2000

Fantastic Holiday Home
Hill Rise is a perfect place to stay. Lots of room, very light and has a lovely relaxed feel to it, to help make your holiday an enjoyable one.
Wouldn't hesitate to go back and Pete (owner) couldn't have been more helpful through the booking process etc
Very comfortable, well equipped property.
The owner is friendly and very helpful.
We had a very enjoyable week helped by sunshine!
Sun, sand and sea with the rocky beach and sandy beach, wonderful.
Lovely house with everything you need
Just enjoyed a week at Hillrise to attend a family wedding. The house is in a good location within easy reach of beach and local farm shop. Nice quiet road with on-drive parking which is a bonus for us. Everything you could possibly need is supplied at Hillrise from knife sharpener in the kitchen to jigsaws and books for the rainy days! Pete was a great owner to deal with and kept in touch by phone and email. We hope to return.
Lovely house in a lovely location
We stayed at the house in September 2017 and really enjoyed it. It's like home from home and has everything you need there. It's about a 10 min walk to the beach, which is lovely and has a nice cafe there with lovely food! It's very hilly in the town so make sure you have sensible footwear! The location is great too for getting around cornwall to go exploring. The owner peter is a star, such a lovely man. Would like to stay at the house again :) thank you
Thanks Q I'm glad you had a lovely holiday come back again soon
I can see the sea!
This was our first stay at Hill Rise, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Our experience with Hill Rise has been fantastic from start to finish. The booking process was extremely easy with great communication from the owner, who is very helpful, and friendly. The house itself was very well equipped, well-kept and spacious for our party of 6 including two young children (who didn’t want to leave), and the grandparents. There are sea views from the master bedroom, and the garden wraps right round the property. The location is peaceful, a short walk from Trevone beach, and with on the doorstep access to footpaths/coastal paths to neighbouring arears. High recommended and I’m sure we will return. Thank you!
Hill Rise is gorgeous
Hill Rise is gorgeous! So much space inside, gardens all the way around, super clean whilst also being homely, well equipped. Peter's a gent. I grew up in Padstow and recommend Trevone, Harlyn and Constantine beaches, which you can get to from Hill Rise either by thet road and coast walk or by walking straight across the field footpaths.
10 minute walk to Trevone's lovely sandy beach with lifeguard (Easter to end September) and the separate rocky beach with great rock pools and a natural tidal swimming pool. 30 minute walk along the coastal path to Harlyn.
The village lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by Open cliffs and farmland. It has a sheltered Sandy cove with the famous Round Hole on the cliff top. The beach has a surf shop, a café, a lifeguard in season and is popular with swimmers and surfers. There are lovely walks along the coastal footpath and golf, cycling and water sports are nearby. The picturesque fishing port of Padstow home of Rick Stein's seafood restaurant is about 1½ miles away.
