Beautiful view, easy beach access but needs some upgrades

  • 4 of 5

Pros: The most impressive thing about this condo was the view and the short distance/easy access to the beautiful beach. It’s on the 2nd floor with stairs or elevator just a few short feet from the door. (On a separate note, the location of 209 was a little confusing. We thought, based on the signs, that it was to the left of the main area, but it was actually up the staircase to the RIGHT of the main lobby)

The indoor lanai had everything you could really need for the beach (except an umbrella) and the pool. There were also beach towels in the linen closets.

We were in walking distance to some restaurants, lots of shops.

The pools (one on either side) were a little small, but very well maintained. There were bathrooms near the pools, also convenient.

The outdoor balcony had a nice table and chairs. We ate all meals outside so we could have the view and ocean breeze.

Cons: The condo needs some updates. The kitchen is probably the MOST updated (although there is no pantry, which is a little strange/inconvenient). All the rooms have vertical blinds, which every time we tried to pull them back completely (not just open the slats), one or more slats would fall off! Obviously, this wasn’t the first time this happened. In the kids room there were 3 slats up against the wall when we arrived, as well as some in the closet in our bedroom from OUR blinds. I quit trying to pull them back because EVERY time one or 2 would fall off. They looked awful.

There was only one nightstand in our room! My husband was able to put water, phone, etc next to him easily. Instead, I had to lean over to the ground to put my things on the floor, and pray to God I didn’t step on something in the middle of the night or knock over a glass. Really NOT acceptable.

The shower in our room was completely useless. The water pressure for warm/hot water was pretty much nonexistent. We ended up using the kids BR to shower the entire trip (again not acceptable).

Upon arriving at night on check in, we realized the AC was not working. We couldn’t turn ceiling fan on high in kids room BC it wasn’t balanced and we thought it would fly off! We called in AM. Pedestal fans were brought over for each BR that day BC the AC people didn’t work Sun. Management was quick to respond. It ended up being the compressor; however, we did notice the sticker on the AC unit said it had last been checked Jan. 2017 (so not UTD). Also found garbage in closet... had recleaned.

Paradise !!!

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed our last couple of weeks of our summer vacation. We have been coming to Marco for 10 years. We have stayed in this condo the last 2 years because it feels like home. Condo is always clean and has everything we need. We love the Somerset for the 2 pools and the grilling area for cooking. Most condos we found do not have grills and they have 4 available it's such a plus. There are also many restaurants/ movie theater and miniature golf in walking distance so we barely use the car when we are here. Looking for shells on the beach and sitting on the balcony we watch the dolphins play and the pelicans fly by. Also watching the sunset is Beautiful. We can't wait to come back!
