There is a main line train station near Cortona, particularly useful for Florence, Arrezzo and Rome. A local single track railway connects with San Sepolcro and Perugia.

Local towns offer weekly markets, supermarkets, banks, post offices, doctors' surgeries, pharmacies, garages. Within half an hour's drive there are innumerable restaurants and pizzerias.
