About Amy Ng

I am a business real property owner and I also work for federal government as an accountant (CGA). I have been enjoying this condo and will retire here. Currently, I would like to share this space with others to appreciate the proximity of all attractions in downtown Ottawa/Gatineau. Recently, I have been focusing more on vacation rental due to its dynamic feature. Vacation rental is one of my many passions, dealing with customers and learning from each other. I have developed excellent relationships with my clients via Ottawa/Hull vacation rental as well as Victoria BC rental (Property Number 515604). Every guest has his/her unique requirements and I have been trying to fulfill most of them. As this is my first year to welcome short vacation rental guests in Ottawa, please refer to a number of decent reviews for my Victoria vacation rental since I started my vacation rental in 2013 (VRBO property No. 515604).

Amy Ng purchased this condo in 2001

Why Amy Ng chose District de Hull

I am a city person but I enjoy the tranquility of waterfront condo, there is magnificent view of Museum of History, Ottawa River and Parliament Hill.

What makes this condo unique

Again, I have to emphasize the importance of city living. We do provide an indoor parking with a $10 per day, but you will enjoy walking around the city without worrying about having a car.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Peter and we had a few email exchanges and a phone conversation. They intended to rewrite the review as following:

Hi Amy,

Jan and I have decided to write a different review, but I don’t know how to take it off.

Please let me know.

We are waiting for that. We hired a cleaning lady to wash beddings and to clean the whole unit after two guests prior to their arrival left this suite on the same day. When Peter and Jan arrived at 9 p.m. on May 27, the lock was broken accidentally and we spent 1.5 hours to get the lock replaced. When they entered the unit, they told us the suite was lovely. We assumed that everything was okay and they had never mentioned anything about cleaning standard. We maintained the same condition as previous guest, who had gave us an excellent review. I did spot-checks after cleaning lady cleaned the suite. Otherwise we would have had addressed the issues sooner. Moreover, the suite is situated in front of two major bridges linking Ottawa River and Gatineau. It is a busy region with a lot of traffic. Even we cleaned the patio window frequently we still experience some dusk on the window. They mentioned about floors and washroom, which were newly renovated. With glass washroom sink, it is different from other type of sink material, it is more obvious to see some marks on the sink. Since my help who changed the lock used the washroom and washed his hand on the sink.. In Normal condition, it will be spotless. Anyway, we will ensure this will not happen again. Also, we want to have clear communication between guests and us to avoid the similar situation from happening. For other windows, we all know that the condo windows are cleaned only twice a year since this suite is on the 17th floor. Jan and Peter left hand-written suggestions on the kitchen counter. I responded by email to discuss about the dinning table, in which we intend to add another dinning table even the wide quartz counter was designed as a dinning table with bar stools as advertised. Furthermore, they did like the new renovations and they had a great intention to help us to improve the rental business practice. They suggested we should have had some maps and brochures about restaurants and attractions in town. I responded that most baby boomers and younger generations are very technology savvy and in fact today's travellers are very well informed by the internet, in which we provided them with internet access. It is absolutely unfortunately they felt that they were

Amazing view and great location

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for our group of 3 - comfortable and perfectly situated for what we wanted to do in downtown Ottawa/Parliament Hill. Also did not realize when I booked it that we were right across the street from Jacques Cartier Park. The view was everything we hoped it would be - a great experience!

Amazing views and great location

  • 4 of 5

The value for the price of this condo rental is fantastic. The views and location are wonderful. The condo is modest with a tiny balcony and modest renovations/furnishings/decor/kitchen equipment but the views are priceless. Be aware there is no central air conditioning so the two bedrooms are quite warm despite individual fans for each room (we visited in the summer heat). Parking is an additional $16 per day but well worth it for secure, underground, reserved parking. There is access to a building laundromat for a small fee. I would stay here again and was very pleased!

Nice apartment in a great location!

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed at Amy’s 17th floor waterfront condo, and as others have said the views are truly amazing! The location of the apartment is great too, as it is close to everything. Amy was very accommodating, and gave us a good orientation to the apartment and the building.

The apartment has basic furnishings, was comfortable and clean. There is only a single air conditioner in the living room/kitchen area, and we were there during an unusually hot period (33C+/100F+ days). Amy was kind enough to put the air conditioner on early on the day we arrived, so it was comfortable in the living room. The two bedrooms and bathroom are down the hall, and therefore were warmer than the living room was.

We were glad to have the underground parking, as it made bringing stuff in very easy. The one thing to note is, for a stay of over 3 days there was an additional daily charge for the parking.

We were very pleased with our stay overall, and Amy was a gracious host. On our next trip to the Ottawa/Gatineau area we would definitely stay here again.

as we expect, clean and good location

  • 5 of 5

We meet Amy at our arrival. She explained everything

Easy to communicate with Amy.

Our stay was as we expect, great location. Closed to everything

Great view.

Our only recommandation: A real dinning table could be great. The small pub table was acceptable for 2 for quick diner. As the condo have 2 bedroom, dinner table will be not enough large for 4 people

I recommand this condo. we will return for a futur vacation

Thanks Amy !!

Clean, Near to everything, Well-Equipped, Drop-dead Views

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I spent a week in Amy's beautiful condo while visiting Mosaiculture which was in the park two blocks away. We found everything that we needed in this well-equipped condo, and we were able to prepare several dinners hosting our Ottawa friends. The views of the river cannot be beaten. We watched the scullers every morning as they left from their boathouse across the river and headed out for practice. Eights, fours, doubles and singles - they were all out every day. Amy was most helpful, always available when we had questions.

The Ottawa/Gatineau region looks like an elaborate painting blended with a modern metropolitan city. Nestled at the meeting of three major rivers – the Ottawa River, the Gatineau River, and the Rideau River – Canada’s capital city has 19th century architecture and outdoor landscapes made to charm any visitor.

The most popular site in Ottawa is the Rideau Canal, which cuts through the heart of the region. Many residents and tourists can be seen having picnics or relaxing on an afternoon break near the canal. In the winter, when this massive body of streaming water is completely frozen over, the canal transforms into the world’s largest ice skating rink. This alone is a sight enough to make the trip.

Also Gatineau Park is another park reflecting nature beauty which will takes one’s breath away. The Park is huge. The Pink Lake hike is a must see. This park is wonderful with unique plants and wildlife,, one can do some cycling, camping hiking giving peaceful and tranquility to one’s life one can also walk around Pink Lake, taking about 20 minutes to go around the lake. It is called Pink Lake but in fact it is green reflecting different kinds of minerals. This is the reason probably it is named Pink Lake after the Pink family.

Also, a bit more aggressive, the Skyline trail has excellent views especially spectacular in the fall. The Mackenzie estate (Past Prime Minister's cottage) is worth the trip. Take your canoe to Meech Lake. (Start at trail 40 and paddle North - there's a cool stream to paddle away. The terrain is very varied, views are great, the trails are well marked, getting there by car is a breeze, and parking is easy. Some of the trails are challenging, and involve a lot of climbing, fording streams, and so on. But some of the trails are easy to do in walking shoes, so there really is something for everyone. The most beautiful time of the year is in the fall. Leaves turn color and it is the most beautiful scene. You can walk for hours and children can enjoy playing in the leaves. Beautiful in the winter and summer for people who like to bike in the summer and snow shoe in the winter. Absolutely beautiful!
