Katafygio Studios are two luxury studios each accommodating 2 guests and having double bedroom, kitchen, breakfast bar, private bathroom and shared access to the individual terraces with views over the mountains and the beautifully peaceful bay of Assos.

These beautiful, boutique style studios are finished to the highest standard of style and comfort with air conditioning, luxury king size double beds with high quality mattresses,sleek modern kitchenette and separate bathroom.
Katafygio Studios enjoy a private location on a quiet village lane and yet offer breathtaking views and only a 2 min walk to the village, tavernas and beach.

*NEW ADDITION* There is a new family bakery opened in the village full of all the usual delights - and this is just 60 seconds from your front door!

Assos is the perfect place to relax and unwind but we would highly recommend renting a car if you plan to do a little exploring.

"When "PERFECT" sounds too poor, to describe our stay at Katafygio
During the tourist-busy time of August, my partner and I, chose to stay at Katafygio in Assos. We booked studio 1 (the one with the bigger terrace), and we couldn't have chosen a more PERFECT location. Situated in the picturesque hills of Assos, overlooking at the Assos bay and the castle, just a 1 min. walk from the seaside , Katafygio is THE IDEAL place to stay . The majority of the other properties in Assos, are situated really close to the main square and seaside, which is filled with tavernas and a cafe, that produce a lot of noise especially during peak hours noon and night. Katafygio on the other side, is situated in the Magical distance from the sea side. Not too far, and not too close. Just one minute away!! This makes the terrace with the mountain and sea view an absolute treat to stay, light the terrace candles and enjoy a calm, starlight, summer night! Perfection indeed. The studio itself is AMAZING. Every modern amenity, wifi, aircondition, full kitchen, fridge, an amazing bathroom. Did i mention the bed? super comfy bed and mattress and pillows of the ideal thickness that your neck will thank you next morning :) Every little detail that a guest might need, is already taken care by Dot and Steve ,that includes mini led flashlight, if you like night strolling, umbrellas, even a Beach bag to carry your stuff to the seaside!!!! The studio breathes an air of "Greece". The island house vibes are everywhere and the subtle details show the love and care that Steve and Dot share in order to make the guests' stay memorable! Assos, in my opinion is the best place to stay in Kefalonia and it is so close to the more elegant villages of the north, 10' mins drive from the world famous beach of Myrtos, Also, it is an amazing destination for Easter Holidays (mid to end of April). Outstanding experience

From the moment that we checked in, we loved this place. Dot and Steve are very welcoming and gave us many suggestions of places to visit on the island. It is very helpful to have a rental car while staying in Assos. We ventured out most days to explore the beautiful beaches with warm turquoise water. The studio is absolutely lovely. The bed is very comfortable, something that we really appreciated. We stayed in studio #2 which we really enjoyed. The patio is a delightful place to oversee the town. There is a bakery just below the studio that we walked to each day and a small mini market. We loved our time there and highly recommend it.

Fabulous!

Dot and Steve were great hosts. There to meet us and on our departure and on hand whenever needed. Studio 1 is a delight. Loved the personal touches and the view of Assos bay from the balcony is wonderful. Assos itself is small but perfectly formed as they say - but if you like to get out and about car hire is essential. Great base for exploring the north of the island but we couldn’t resist a (long) trip to Mounda Beach in the south which is one of our favourites. Really can’t recommend Katafygio Studios enough - hopefully we’ll be back next year . Thanks Dot and Steve for a wonderful week

We had a perfect week in Assos. Wonderful hosts and the studio was lovely. A perfect base for exploring the Island. We intend to return!!

We fell in love with the Greek Islands many years ago whilst backpacking. A sailing holiday some years later only added to the feeling.Now that both our boys are living and working in London we returned to Greece and discovered the jewel of Kefalonia - the village of Assos!

Just 4 years later we found this amazing house for sale so we snapped it up and set our plans in motion.
We spent most of 2017 on the refurbishment project which produced two brand new luxurious studios ready for the 2018 season. We will be in Assos for the whole of the season to welcome and look after our guests and we plan to build a happy, satisfied customer base and hopefully make many new friends along the way.

Having lived and worked in the West Midlands all our lives we recently bought a cottage in Colwall village in the beautiful Malvern Hills in Herefordshire and will be spending our winters there.

Why they chose this property

We fell for the property straight away because it offers everything the discerning holidaymaker needs for a chilled, relaxing time. It is set in an elevated position on a quiet little lane with fabulous views of the bay and mountains and the Venetian fort. The beach is no more than 2 mins walk and for convenience the local mini market is only 1 min walk! It's perfect.
