Casa de campo muy bien situada entre Stratford upon Avon y Warwick y con fácil acceso a los Cotswolds.

Esta residencia muy privada se encuentra en dos acres de terrenos bien cuidados en la cima de Black Hill, lo que le da una magnífica vista dominante sobre la ciudad de Stratford upon Avon y hacia Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Campden, Cheltenham Spa y el Cotswolds En las inmediaciones se encuentran los pueblos muy bonitos de Snitterfield, que está a poco más de 1,6 km de la casa y Hampton Lucy, que está aproximadamente a la misma distancia en la dirección opuesta. La casa en sí es un edificio de 1930 decorado con buen gusto y bien proporcionado, con tres habitaciones dobles con baño, dos habitaciones dobles con baño compartido y también una casa de campo independiente de un dormitorio con baño privado. En la planta baja, las puertas delanteras de doble apertura conducen a un hall de recepción con lámparas de araña de cristal. A la izquierda, una gran sala de estar con estufa de leña y chimenea integrada puede alojar cómodamente a 10 personas, al igual que la gran cocina comedor con gas Aga. Aunque esta casa tiene un ambiente bastante sofisticado, la estufa de leña y Aga hacen algunas noches muy acogedoras durante el invierno. También en la planta baja hay un retrete, un cuarto de servicio y una sala de televisión para el beneficio de aquellos que quieran un poco más de paz o para darles a los del resto de la casa el beneficio de esa paz.

Aunque se anuncia que la casa tiene cinco habitaciones dobles, hay una cama plegable disponible, al igual que otra habitación en la planta baja. Cualquiera de los dos puede estar disponible a pedido. Si tiene algún otro requisito, solo pregunte y me esforzaré por complacerlo.

Excellent property for large family group

We stayed with our 3 adult children and their families. The size and layout of the property was ideally suited to our group. The additional self contained lodge next to the house was charming.

Lovely size house, well equipped and comfortable. Decorated really nicely for Christmas. Communication with owner was good, and we found them to be helpful. House could do with some TLC, but was perfect for what we wanted.

Long weekend in Stratford

Perfect location for visiting local areas. Stratford-upon-Avon is lovely and can recommend a boat trip. Snitterfield village isnt walkable but pretty and offers lovely walks.House is ideal for groups with nice big garden for sunny weather. If you're planning on cooking meals be aware that there's only an Aga and no oven. Some of the furniture was a little tired but didn't take away from the overall comfort of the house.

Beautiful house in a lovely location

Stayed with my family for new year. We loved it, rooms were lovely and comfortable. Plenty room everywhere. Extra special having Christmas tree’s in 2 rooms. Took us a while to sort the Aga out but got there in the end. Gated long drive making it very private. Would definitely stay here again. Easy to contact James the owner if we needed to

Beautiful house and garden

Experience of booking through Vbro was dreadful. Once we were able to speak to the owner, James, communication was fine and James was very helpful and responded to queries quickly. House is located 4 miles from Stratford upon Avon.

Family get together

Our stay was perfect. The property itself was as described and very comfortable, the garden was an added bonus. We had also booked the annex which again was perfect.The property is well equipped with everything required, with enough items for a big group. James was contactable throughout our stay and he gave clear instructions for entering the property etc. There is enough space for people to get peace and quiet if needed.There is a lovely garden centre across the road and Stratford & Warwick are nearby. We had extended family staying at a local hotel and they made use of the local bus to get to us. some did walk but there aren’t any pavements as such, so some care would be needed.We wouldn’t hesitate to book the accommodation again. Thank you James for allowing us the use of your house, we had a great time.

I never like to leave poor reviews because this is someone’s business.It you look back to previous years reviews concerning old, damaged and stained furniture, this has not changed.This property only has four double rooms in the house and not five as stated.The owner was rude, condescending and threatening. Definitely would not book again.

Fabulous family home for family reunion ages 4 months to 90

Arrangements beforehand went very smoothly. James spent time preparing the house including downstairs bedroom for elderly member of family. Super sized clean bedrooms with en-suites and a bath available for toddlers. Two lovely sitting rooms with plenty of chairs for different activities. Kitchen with arga and large dining table with loads of crockery and cutlery. Garden totally safe for toddlers including an electric gate. Long drive so no worries about parking. And an additional self contained granny annex a few yards from the house. All in all a perfect family home suitable for all ages whatever the weather. Thank you James we will visit again.

Lovely Rural Retreat

I stayed here with my family (3 generations) for a long weekend. The property was great, a nice long gated drive way which had plenty of parking spaces. Beautiful views from the back garden which was very well presented. Enough space inside for all of us and 2 dogs. The downstairs room was a highly important feature for my Nan who cannot walk upstairs. It was very convenient having three bedrooms that were en-suite. The house had everything that was needed and was clean (a few stains on carpets but this could be overlooked). The location was ideal and so quiet. Great to have Dobbies across the road for any essentials. Communication with the host was excellent and really easy to contact if needed. We would definitely recommend to larger parties especially families and when the weather is warm so that the garden can be fully enjoyed.

Perfect home for a family/friends gathering

We had a great time at this lovely house, which was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family gathering. The house felt welcoming with a great kitchen which was incredibly well-equipped, plenty of utensils, cups, and everything we needed, making cooking and dining together very easy. The AGA added a warm, homely touch, and we thoroughly enjoyed using it. Also great to have so many bathrooms and comfortable beds. The garden provided the perfect space for outdoor games, and the views and sunsets were beautiful. The location was ideal for our gathering and very conveniently situated for a small Waitrose and butchers (in Dobbies Garden Centre) across the road. All perfect for a group of family and/or friends to relax and enjoy each other’s company. A big thank you to James, our wonderful host, who was always available if needed and made sure our stay was comfortable from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this house for any family gathering.

Lovely Christmas Stay

We booked James's' house last minute as our Christmas plans had to change. He was very helpful before and during the stay and always responded quickly to any questions we had. The house was in a great location for a family group who were travelling from different directions. The house was large and there was lots of space for people to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped and we had fun getting used to the aga, which was a bit of a challenge on Christmas day, but we managed it and it added to the charm of the house. We did have a couple of power failures during the stay but we were able to fix it and it didn't detract from our enjoyment. Thanks for everything.

Disappointed

Extremely disappointed as the website states there are 5 king sized beds & 1 double when it is the exact opposite 5 double & 1 king !!! also 1 cane dining chair had a hole in the middle, & 1 faux leather dining chair was shredding bits of black plastic all over the kitchen floor. Some of the chairs in the lounge had tears in the fabric, & the carpet on one of the stairs was badly fitting which is a trip hazard. Some of the decor is also looking pretty tired & could do with a lick of paint.Also the lodge was very poor & looks like a garden shed!

Lovely relaxing weekend away with friends

Beautiful house, with amazing gardens, great for 8 people sharing. Great kitchen to socialise in, comfy lounge with open fire, for cold evenings. Great local pub. Ten minute drive to Stratford upon Avon, would love to visit in the summer and take advantage of the beautiful gardens.

Beautiful country house

We Have just stayed in this property and well I would like to start by thanking the host for letting me and my party stay in their wonderful house, pictures really don’t do it justice, from the moment we arrived everyone just fell in love with this house, very spacious, very comfortable, and all round stunning from the grounds to the decor, to the wonderful self contained lodge on the grounds the house is remote and private yet also close to other amenities, we went bowling only a short drive away also supermarkets etc.. we all had an absolute amazing time away and would love to be back in the near future.
