Quotes from our great renter's: 'Thank you for providing us with this beautiful sanctuary in the woods. This was the best vacation rental we've stayed in and we hope to be back soon.'

'We owe you, thanks for 'tuning us in' to such an amazing part of the Bay Area!'

'Your house is truly a sanctuary, we fell in love with it as soon as we walked in the door.'

''We found the house amazing, each window in the house gives you a different view and perspective of the surrounding nature.'

'Thank you for letting us into your slice of paradise. Everything was wonderful from the decor and location to the smallest of details. Did I mention my wife wanted to move in?'

'You really have a gift for making people feel at home. We are already talking of coming here again.'

Our 1500 sq ft. house is loft-style, built on a large rock with views of the Marin Mountains. Take pleasure in relaxing nights as you hear the crickets chirp and the rushing of the creek during the rainy months. Our house is a beautiful, tranquil place to unwind and enjoy everything that nature has to offer. On any given day, deer can be seen as close as 10 ft. from the outside deck.

Our house is nestled in the quaint town of Fairfax, CA which was just voted in 2011 as the ' Best Town in Marin' by the Pacific Sun.It is a quiet haven untouched by strip malls and corporate chains, yet it is close enough to the hustle and bustle of cities like San Francisco and Berkeley. A short distance a way are Mill Valley, Sausalito, Mt. Tamalpais, Point Reyes, Stinson Beach & Napa.

We provide bathrobes, blow dryers, 5 different types of pillows ranging from soft to extra firm, board games, as well as an entertainment deck with umbrella covered dining table and love seat patio set. We also have a small library area where you can curl up and read a good book.

Take advantage of picnicking in Deer Park, hiking/driving to the many lakes located near the house, strolling through the town of Fairfax, antique shopping in San Anselmo and exploring the other great cities, beaches & activities nearby. A few nights in Fairfax and you just may decide to stay!

Minimum one week stay over Christmas holiday.

A nice surprise in Fairfax

  • 5 of 5

We rented Misty and Brandy’s lovely, very well kept vacation home in Fairfax because our house in Santa Rosa suffered smoke damage from the horrific Tubbs wildfire and we had to vacate while the damage was being remediated.

The quiet, woodsy rural neighborhood above a town with which we’re familiar provided exactly what we required: solitude when we needed it and easy access to the friendly small town when we wanted to visit friends, shop, attend a movie, dine out or listen to live music. The population of Fairfax is only 7600 but it has a 6-plex movie theater showing first run movies, a dozen or more excellent restaurants, live music almost every night, unique shops, a public hot tub facility, a large, excellent natural foods store and yet still manages to maintain a small town atmosphere.

The two-story house is spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully appointed- including a well stocked kitchen that made meal preparation easy. Extra touches not usually found in most vacation rentals- Post it notes at each phone with free long distance, flashlights in the bedside tables, throws in the living room and loft, a huge selection of bed pillows, plush spa robes and plenty of towels. For at-home entertainment in addition to the internet, there’s a big-screen cable TV in the loft along with a DVD player (with lots of DVDs), a smaller TV in the downstairs bedroom, a CD player (with CDs) and, on the second floor, a book shelf stocked with interesting titles rather than the well-worn paperback novels one often finds in vacation rentals.

Misty is a wonderful owner and that’s what made the place extra special for us. She’s welcoming, friendly, responsive, and accommodating and was available from the minute we inquired about their rental. When remediation of our home took longer than estimated – first one day then two – she was able to extend our stay accordingly. Misty graciously permitted us to checkout a little later than 10 a.m. so that we elderly folk had more time to pack.

We give Misty, Brandy and their wonderful Fairfax home our unqualified recommendation; it’s the best vacation rental we’ve experienced so far.

Beautiful spot tucked in the trees--walking distance from town center.

  • 5 of 5

This is a special spot in the heart of Fairfax. We happened to luck out with a weekend full of sunny days and foliage, and were able to walk to town, take in a movie, and sample some of the food options. The house is immediately welcoming and homey, with plenty of space for kids to play while adults lounged by the fire. And the beds were so comfortable that our 8yr old claimed his "glued" him in. Highly recommend this space.

Comfortable and well-equipped home in quiet area near great restaurants, coast, hikes

  • 4 of 5

Our hosts thoughtfully prepared the house for us, left clear guidance/instructions, and were always very prompt at responding when we made our reservation. The house is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed the hummingbirds at the feeder and views. We went kayaking on Tomales Bay, roughly a half hour drive northwest, and trip to Tiburon and Angel Island, again about a half hour away to the southeast. Thank you, Misty!

Great Memories Made and Past Memories Shared

  • 4 of 5

My two girlfriends and I have been vacationing up and down the West Coast for the past 12 years. I chose this area for the hiking, the beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge and all that comes with Marin County. We loved this house and the surrounding area. Mt. TamaIpais had spectacular views from the fire watch tower. The home was clean, updated, comfortable (well except for the pull out couch in the loft) and enjoyed the comforts of home. We felt like we were in the mountains with the convenience of a big city, San Francisco, close by. We were able to sleep in, walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, have lunch in Saulsalito and be home to enjoy the serenity of your deck and view of your side yard where we had morning and afternoon visits from 3 - 7 deer, while enjoying breakfast or cocktails on the deck and watch the sunset behind the ridge in the back. A couple of days were unusually warm, so we put all the fans to use and with the cooler evenings, sleeping with the windows open was wonderful. We enjoyed meeting people at the farmers market, picked up dinner and took it back to the house and it was still warm. There was a street fair on Sunday and we were able to meet many of the shop owners and you can tell they love their community. We met a couple of hikers that gave us some great information on other hiking trails. We sought out an outdoor concert in a nearby park and had a great time. Great memories were made and we had lots of laughs. Thank You
