This gorgeous three story Blue Ridge TREEHOUSE we call CANOPY BLUE is located in the ASKA ADVENTURE AREA and is unlike any property you’ve ever seen. Meticulous architectural and designer details abound in this 750 sf property with 1200 sf decks. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION….ThisTreehouse is perfectly perched on 4 private acres overlooking National Forest with direct hiking access to the Benton MacKaye Trail right outside your door. Canopy Blue Treehouse is secluded and private with an easy 10 minute drive to Historic Downtown Blue Ridge. Please note that the last 1/4 mile of the dirt/gravel road, can get very bumpy and rutty at times. Low profile vehicles not recommended; however, four wheel drive not necessary either.
To enter the Canopy Blue Treehouse, you will use the long ramp access from parking area (no steps here). Be sure to take notice of the trees used as support for the structure and those allowed growth through the decks and the rooftop porch. Once you enter the treehouse, you will find a cozy, upscale, living space with high ceilings and creative elements enhancing your Treehouse experience. The interior details create an outdoor feel, but the furnishings and bedding remind you this treehouse truly is VACATION LIVING TAKEN TO A NEW LEVEL. At first you may be excited to enjoy the beautiful views from large plate glass windows, or want to lie down on the one of a kind hanging bed/sofa in the loft. But then you'll notice the sliding barn bedroom doors, and the hollowed tree trunk table with bird feeder viewing through top of table, and decide to unpack later and keep exploring.
On the main entry floor of our Treehouse is a private queen bedroom with door to outside patio, closet, a large viewing window with bench seat, and barn doors for privacy; a bath with stand up glass enclosed and tiled shower, a living area with small sofa, bunk beds, and built in table, all facing flat screen TV (Streaming only, no cable) and DVD. Also on main floor is a coffee bar, kitchen area, and french doors to outside porch overlooking fire pit below. The living room sofa, built in table, rustic bunks, and outdoor patio allow for a unique and cozy space to be shared by loved ones, allowing ease of conversing. Open the french doors and widen your space, bringing the outside feel right in with rockers and double porch swing. Sit in any of these areas and enjoy your time together.
Want a little separation? Head up to the loft area and take in the views from our hanging bed/sofa. The second level is a carpeted loft with 2 rockers, ottoman, large windows, and additional flat screen TV (Roku for streaming only) and DVD. Be sure to bring your favorite games and videos.
As for Treehouse cooking, this treehouse kitchen includes a medium size stainless refrigerator/freezer, stainless convection microwave, and 2 electric glass top burners. (There is no dishwasher or traditional oven) Also provided is a crock pot, coffee pot, blender, waffle maker, toaster, and essential pots and pans. To enhance your treehouse experience, your cooking can be on the new gas grill located just outside the front door on the 1000 square foot deck wrapping the treehouse or even at the fire pit located just off of the hot tub deck located under the treehouse. Guests can also enjoy the undercover outside bar seating area while grilling so all can be together.
The Canopy Blue Treehouse is an ideal getaway for couples and families looking to unplug from the city and spend quality time together. The only downside to this place is that you won't want to leave.
Please note that this treehouse is facing National Forest and the last 1/4 of a mile is up a dirt road that can get quite bumpy. Low profile vehicles not recommended.

Amazing views! This place was perfect for our family of 4 - great outdoor space for watching movies at night and a great indoor table for playing cards at. Loved our time here.
The grill propane bottle was almost empty and spare bottle was empty. Bed downstairs was very hard mattress. Not as secluded as posted online. ( Road and Road Intersection very close with little privacy). All else was very enjoyable for overall experience. We will be staying again but will be trying the other property.
This was a surprise 70 th birthday trip for my boyfriend who had mentioned long ago he’d love to stay in a “ treehouse” some day! The view from the back porch was stunning with layered mountains framed by trees who gave us a morning chorusThe decor was well thought out and rustic but modern in all amenities. Darling copper w leaf imprint bathroom sink and great shower. Tree views perfectly planned from every window. Space was so efficiently planned with fully stocked kitchen, cool silverware, great live edge table with banquette seating, darling bunk beds in addition to 2 adult bedrooms and comfy sofa. The outdoor space with electric fire place, huge seating area, picnic table, excellent hot tub and firepit with custom “Blue Canopy” engraved metal fire ring was amazing! Set-up staff was able to have a birthday balloon and cookies there when we walked in, too. Blue Ridge was uncrowded at this time of year and so pleasant and great restaurants It was a wonderful experience and hosts were super responsive to my questions . Highly recommend!
The tree house was perfect! Enjoyed getting outdoors in the cool crisp weather to enjoy the hot tub, fireplace and fire pit. A perfect getaway from work!
This was an anniversary stay surprise from my husband. We stayed the weekend and absolutely enjoyed our stay. When they say bring bug spray, they are serious, there are chiggers all over. The place is super clean and wood was provided for the fire pit. The decor is beautiful and the architecture of the place is my style of what I absolutely love. The view was really nice. The drive might not workout to well for someone in a sports car. We saw one Camaro parked before the ride up to their cabin. We drove our F250 extended cab which fit fine in the parking space. It is a one car road so there are lots of turn offs to let a car go by but the trees are overgrown in the way and could scratch your car, our truck would not have fit in the pull-offs. We were blessed to not have had a car come or go while we were leaving and coming. One thing that kinda stressed me out was having to do so many dishes because there is no dishwasher. So our last day there I was rushing to do the dishes and I like to make sure they are super clean so I was trying to balance doing that and guiding my husband on packing up our stuff before we had to leave. All in all, this is an experience I will forever remember and enjoy.
Phenomenal stay! The hosts were very welcoming and had everything set up as said in our welcome email. The place has instructions for everything and was extrememly user-friendly. Actually very eaay to get to the cabin. We drove a minivan up to it and had no issues on road. The windows in thia place are set up awesome and the sunset was crazy! Would definitely stay here again if we decide to visit Blue Ridge. It was also very close to Helen and a lot of cool hidden stops along the way.
While the dirt road getting there is fun, the treehouse is a very comfortable place to spend time at with amazing views. This place places a thick layer of serenity onto whatever you have going on.
This was an amazing experience! The area is great for any occasion. The property was excellent and the hosts were amazing. Highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Blue Ridge.
We have stayed at Canopy Blue several times and are never disappointed! The view is amazing, the hot tub and outdoor seating area is perfect after a long day of hiking. A true get away and yet only a few miles from all the outdoor activities and the quaint downtown. The owners are easy to reach - access is simple and convenient.
The house was so cute, clean and ready for guests. Having the little extras like shampoo, conditioner and kitchen supplies is a great touch and makes travel so much easier. Everything was very clean and cozy. It was a great retreat for a couple- but we know the kids would love to come up for a visit too. The road going to the property is well described- narrow, gravel and steep. Able to navigate, but a little harrowing in the dark (and rain) if you do it like we did. Close to town, shopping, restaurants and hiking paths. Great location. Remote from neighbors so you can get away and enjoy some peace and quiet.
Location is out of the way and peaceful. Only minor complaint is the mattresses are not very comfortable. Other than that, the setup is excellent and has a really nice sunset view.
Will definitely come back. I wish I'd booked a longer stay.

About the host
Hosted by Ken and Linda Roth
Ken and Linda are high school sweethearts who grew up in Indiana, attended Purdue University, moved to Tampa after graduation, and raised their two girls, all while running a commercial landscape company. They were blessed to find Blue Ridge and purchase their first cabin in 2011. While constructing an addition onto their cabin, they developed a wonderful relationship with a creative and quality builder, Junior Deal. After Ken and Linda learned of Junior’s dream of building a treehouse, they decided to make Junior's dream come true and built their first treehouse, Canopy Blue, which was completed in 2016. Their experience was so fantastic with Junior and his partner, Matthew "Moose”, they built another treehouse, Inn The Ravine, which was completed in 2018. Junior and Moose, now owners of Blue Ridge Treehouse Builders, only build quality and creative spaces. Ken and Linda’s goal is to provide amazing getaways with lasting memories.
