I spent many family holidays, as a child, camping in the Yorkshire Dales, in the Wensleydale and Swaledale areas (parents inspired by watching All Creatures Great and Small!), I loved the outdoors and grew very fond of the Dales, they had an almost 'magical' quality. I have many fond memories of times spent in the Dales.
20 years later and wanting to introduce my children to the Dales and trying desperately to create some sort of pension, we looked for a property in the Wensleydale area. Yarn House had just come on the market and it was perfect, overlooking waterfalls, spacious, an existing holiday cottage since the 1970's, well located in the center of the Dales and a few minutes walk from lots of good pubs, shops and restaurants in Hawes. Gayle is perfect, situated just off the Pennine way, a picturesque village, and a mile or so from Hawes.
