The apartment had a musty and moldy smell that persisted despite the recommended use of an open door (did not feel safe for sleeping) and the dehumidifier. There is no window, only the front door. This is NOT an apartment suitable for someone with asthma or any breathing troubles. We left and paid for another accommodation in Lisbon.
The apartment is NOT as described. The alleyway (not a courtyard) is a dark and decaying space without sunlight. There are cars parked in it. It is the back of several restaurants. The area, Cais do Sodré, is great, with good transport and lots of restaurants. This location is challenging.
The apartment is NOT as large as listed. Although it says you get access to the « whole house» it is just a studio. To be fair it is elsewhere described as a studio. It is not « comfortable» as there are 3 plastic chairs to sit on, two small pillows. The kitchen is not functional (slow stove, wonky fridge, dirty walls, a few insects - not surprising given damp).
Christina (or whoever is managing this flat) was extremely helpful when we locked ourselves out. I have had no response however since I indicated that I was leaving because of the state of the flat. No one, including Magda and Diogo, whose pictures are shown here, has responded to several messages.
