This is a hidden gem

What a great apartment!!. Terrace overlooking the small square. Roomy 1 bedroom. Very clean and well appointed. Close to grocery store and laundry service. Buses run every half hour into Taormina or Mazzaro'. Letojanni is a hidden gem because it is a 5 min bus ride to one of the biggest tourist cities in Sicily and it is about 1/3 the cost. We had dinner in a beachfront restaurant with wine for about the same price as we paid for lunch in Taormina. The biggest bonus is Carmen. She picked us up at the train, gave us a quick tour through town, and drove us to the train when we left. This was my first time using homeaway in Europe...I would definitely stay again, I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. If you are considering this apartment JUMP ON IT. Before someone else does.

Schöne kleine Wohnung in Strandnähe

Wir haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie ist sehr sauber, gepflegt und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die Fotos geben einen exakten Eindruck davon. Die Lage ist perfekt für Strandbesuche. Man sieht das Meer vom Balkon aus. Es gibt einige gute Restaurants in Fussnähe, genauso wie kleine "Alimentari", Bäckereien, Obst- und Gemüseläden. Die Vermieterin, Carmen, ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Letojanni hat uns gut gefallen. Da wir am Ende der Saison da waren, war alles noch offen, aber nicht überlaufen. Die Preise haben allerdings auch hier zugelegt. Aber es ist lange nicht so teuer wie im nahe gelegenen Taormina. Ausflüge in die Umgebung (u.a. Valle d'Agro, Valle d'Alcantara, Nordhang des Ätna) sind gut mit dem Auto zu machen. Wir können den Ort und das Apartment nur empfehlen.

Bel appartement et excellent service

J'ai passé six semaines dans cet appartement Zagara du 15 février au 28 mars 2016. L'appartement est propre avec un excellent service de nettoyage une fois par semaine. Il y a tout l'équipement qu'il faut : cuisinière, micro-four, tous les accessoires de cuisine, literie complète, lave-linge, télé et radio par satellite, accès internet. La localisation est excellente avec tous les petits commerces et restaurants et bars à proximité. Bon service de transport par autobus et par train sont facilement accessibles pour visiter la région. Vous êtes à 15 minutes de Taormina sans en payer le prix du logement. Enfin Carmen est une excellente propriétaire qui répond rapidement à vos besoins. J'ai grandement apprécié mon long séjour à Letojanni. Jean-Louis Québec, Canada

A Perfect Stay, A Perfect Hostess

Allow my to start off by saying that Carmen was the perfect hostess!!! So kind, very helpful and available if required. She picked me up from the train station, escorted me to the apartment and showed me around. Explained wi-fi (password) the garbage schedule, and how to use the washing machine (settings etc). Suggested restaurants and bars near by, places to visit, helped me book tours, with directions...I can't say enough about her. I was truly treated like royalty. The apartment itself was perfect. Upon arrival, it was spotless! It had all of the amenities that one would require including towels, linens, beach umbrellas and laundry facilities. Very nicely decorated and spacious. There were toiletries in the bathroom which was a nice touch. Balcony was gorgeous!! Overlooks a small square, street and mountains. Bedroom was large with plenty of storage (for clothing etc). Bathroom was perfect -- the shower/toilet is separated by a door from the sink and mirror (which is great). Kitchen is equipped with everything (espresso maker, stove, microwave, dishes, pots and pans etc.). Wi-fi was perfect (fast and strong connection). The location was marvelous. Within a 5 minute walk, you will find restaurants, bars, banks, hair salon, nail salon, grocery store, bakery, souvenir shops, butcher shop, fruit/vegetable shops, bus stop, beach, post office, church and a pharmacy. There is also a hotel across the street which is a good reference point for taxis etc. The employees there are fantastic! I had booked tours thru them and they were more than helpful! I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Grazie Carmen!!! A la prossima!!

Lovely Holiday Apartment

We stayed in the apartment for 6 nights at the beginning of June and had a wonderful holiday.The apartment was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and fitted with everything we needed: towels, sun shade, coffee maker etc. We especially loved the balcony, which was perfect for breakfast and taking an aperitivo in the evening. The location of the apartment is great, just a short stroll to the beach and the center of Letojanni with its many restaurants and bars. Carmen, the owner, was extremely helpful: she picked us up from the bus stop in Taormina on our arrival and gave us tips on which local foods to try and which sites were worth visiting. Letojanni is a great base to visit Sicilian's Ionian Coast - it is not quite as busy and crowded as Taormina (at least when we were there at the beginning of June!), but there is a bus connection to all the major sites like Isolabella, Mount Etna, Gole Alcantara. All in all, we had such a lovely time in Carmen's apartment in Letojanni and would definitely recommend staying there!

Lovely apartment, great location

The apartment is very beautiful, tastefully furnished and well equipped (air conditioning, kitchen equipment etc.). The size is perfect for 2-3 people. From the balcony you get a glimpse of the sea and a wonderful view on the mountains on the other side. The location is great, just a few steps away from the beach (coarse sand but crystal clear, blue water; sometimes jelly fish are a problem), many sea side restaurants, supermarket, bakery etc. are close by. We traveled without car and there was no need for it, as there is a train station and buses running tolerably frequently. Carmen the owner is extremely friendly and very helpful. Thanks, we had a great time!

Letojanni im Herzen

saubere FeWo, hübsch eingerichtet, gut ausgestattet, im Herzen von Letojanni. 50 m bis zum Strand, viele Läden, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants drum herum. Insgesamt sehr positiv. Parken manchmal schwierig. Freundliche und kompetente Vermieterin.

Wonderful holidays

We stayed 1 week in the apartment Zagara. It was very clean, perfectly equipped & exactly like on photos. No surprises at all except.... The fresh fruits from Carmen's garden, waiting for us on the table! Carmen welcomed us and spent some time with us recommending the places to visit and the restaurants to go. Needless to say that with such a start the week was perfect. Each single breakfast on the balcony with Italian coffee maker was a pure moment of happiness. Thank you Carmen for your great accommodation!

Sicilian charm.

My husband and I stayed in Zagara apartment at the end of July for a week. Zagara was exactly as the description. The apartment was well furnished with individual pieces that had been chosen to complement it's individual style. My favourite piece was the chandelier in the kitchen. Some of the furniture was quite old but for me that added to the character. The balcony was very pretty and great for 'people watching'. Each morning the main street was a busy hive of activity with fruit, veg and fish sellers. The supermarkets were all well stocked as was Carmen's kitchen that had everything needed to make some lovely meals. The shopkeepers that I spoke to were helpful and helped me to understand how to cook and eat some of the vegetables that I hadn't seen before. Letojanni is a good base for the area. A short stroll to the beach and a good selection of bars and restaurants, each one having a perfect setting for your evening meal overlooking the sea and moonlight. It is very easy to visit Taormina, just a short cheap bus ride. The buses are good and run until one o'clock in the morning in high season so you can have evenings there too.Taormina is beautiful but expensive. We were a bit disappointed when one of the waiters tried to con us with the price of the beer. But this can happen anywhere and certainly didn't put us off visiting again. Carmen was a lovely lady. She had said she would pick us up at the bus station in Giardini but we got off at the wrong one (there are 2). But using my broken Italian and her broken English she managed to find us and take us to Zagara. She had given us a lovely bowl of 8 big juicy peaches that she had picked from her fruit garden. We could contact her at any time. She picked us up at the end of the week and took us to the (correct) bus stop for the bus back to the airport. Many travel guides don't tell you that there is a train station at Letojanni where you can get regular trains to some good places. We didn't discover it till the end of the week so didn't use it. Most guides only indicate that there is a station at Giardini Naxos. I have visited a few Italian places but Sicily has definatly been my favourite. I hope to back in the future and would readily go back to Letojanni and to Carmen's lovely apartments.

A lovely apartment

We really enjoyed our five nights in this apartment. Everything was exactly as described and clean and well maintained. Letojanni is lively but not overwhelming and the town centre location made us feel very much part of the 'buzz' of the place. Access to the beach as very easy and it's a really lovely beach with good facilities and and nice atmosphere. Its a good base for Taormina, Etna and we also managed a day trip to Syracuse Carmen, the owner, was charming and helpful and I would no hesistation in recommending the place for small families like ourselves (2 adults and a 15 year old)

We are rested the whole family at the beginning of June. Carmen wonderful woman, sent us a taxi to the airport (80evro). We lived in an apartment "Zagara", perfect weather, the sea was cool.Niar supermarkets and bakery. Every day you can buy fresh fish, shrimp (very tasty). On the waterfront of restaurants, ice cream makers. Taormina is a beautiful city, many shops.

Lovely Appartment Zagara

We, husband and wife with two children (7 and 2 years old), had a wonderful week in the Zagara Appartment in the beginning of March 2011. Carmen, the owner, was very friendly and easily available. Everything was clean, in good shape, and very charming (just like on the pictures). The description was absolutely accurate. We would definitely recommend this appartment happily to our friends and family. We loved the grocery store (alimentari) just around the corner where the neighbours chatted the whole day away, the beautiful sea view from the kitchen and the balcony. We also enjoyed the street life right under our balcony. Italian street life that is so much more interesting than TV. The beach is only about 40 meters from the house. I could sit there the whole day and watch the lovely scenery. Our kids enjoyed the beach, as well. But the water is definitely too cold for swimming in March. Keep on reading the other good reviews, book this appartment, and enjoy life. Sicily is wonderful. Try the oranges!!!

Appartamento accogliente e grande ospitalità.

E' stata un'esperienza molto piacevole. Siamo stati accolti con grande gentilezza e disponibilità dalla signora Carmen che ci ha fatto sentire subito a casa nostra. La casa è carina, molto luminosa, pulita, ben arredada e dotata di tutti confort, Inoltre, si trova a due passi da una bella spiaggia, e da diversi locali.

Traumhaft schönes Appartement

Zagara ist ein Traum. Die bunten Wände in Kombination mit den schönen Holzmöbeln und den vielen kleinen Acccesoires.... Hat uns super gefallen. Die Wohnung liegt zentral und man bekommt das ganze italienische Bilderbuch geboten. Die Vermieterin Carmen hat uns in Taormina abgeholt, und auch wieder für unsere Rücklreise hingebracht - Toller Service danke noch mal an dieser Stelle. Wir können das Appartment wärmstens empfehlen !

Nice price, lovely people

Thank you Carmen for a lovely stay in Letojanni. The apartement was perfect for three women living an active life. Letojanni hospitality was extrodinary.Close to the beach, shopping, good cocking opportunities. It was easy to travel with the buses to Isola Bella and Taormina. We had a great time snorkling, scuba diving, night clubing, paragliding and met a lot of new Sicilian friends. This was the best summer holiday for me and my two girls. I love Sicily.

Gemütliche Ferienwohnung

Sehr schöne Unterkunft, in der man sich schnell im Urlaubsort zuhause fühlen kann. Liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Wir waren als Pärchen unterwegs und haben das Frühstück auf dem Balkon mit Blick auf die Piazza genossen. Ideale Busverbindung nach Taormina vor der Haustür.
