Getting costly & lacking basic provisions
No logs or kindling for burner provided & fire had not been cleaned out by previous user. Given the cost of renting this property a basic grocery welcome pack would not go amiss as is provided at other holiday lets we have stayed in

Dear Peter,
Thank you for your feedback following your stay at Yew Tree Cottage.
Sorry to hear of the few issues you've mentioned, I can see by your booking nothing was brought to our attention during your stay which is a shame as we do like to be given the opportunity to rectify any issues for you, however we thank you for bringing this to our attention - all of our properties are individually managed by the owner so your feedback will be passed back to them to action anything as necessary.
In regards to welcome packs this is entirely up to the owner whether they leave one or not and it is their decision as to what they would like to leave also but again I will pass this information back to them.
We do look forward to welcoming you back to Norfolk again very soon Peter.
Best Wishes

Beautiful cottage and surroundings in which to spend 34th wedding anniversary.
We absolutely loved everything about this cottage; the decor, furnishings, kitchen equipment. We just want to inform (not complain) that the double mattress of the bed feels as if it needs replacing. Not a big deal and we will happily book again. Thank you so much.

Wonderful bolthole
We had a fantastic few days at yew tree cottage walking the coastal path and watching the amazing array of birdlife along the coast.
The cottage is in an ideal location with lots of lovely walks from the door and we’d love to return in the summer to enjoy the pretty secluded patio. The cottage decor was beautiful and evenings in front of the log burner with a glass of wine and a good book were a perfect way to end our day.
My only suggestion, would be to make the arrival instructions clearer with the exact location of the loake and position of the cottage - after a long drive and battling with North Sea winds it is not ideal wandering up and down trying to find where you are staying !

Yew tree cottage
The cottage is attractive and we found it quite comfortable. However the kitchen is very small indeed and not ideal. Arriving and leaving is difficult because there is no parking. The cottage does not have internet so should not be advertised as such. There is no router - this caused us a massive problem because my son had intended to be able to work on his laptop whilst on holiday and he had to go home early because he could not do that.

A week of good weather in a charming cottage at Blakeney
Blakeney is a great place at which to stay. The cottage, with its quirky stairs but well manageable by three 80 year olds, provides a great contrast with home. It is also well equipped and comfortable, quiet and well positioned in the village. You might come home with a sore head because of misjudging the height of the small back door.
The only negatives were the relative uselessness of the wifi. Unavailable most of the time and incorrectly listed in the cottage details the website rarely appeared as an option. Fortunately, it is good to get away from the internet once you get used to it. Secondly, the black bin had missed an emptying before we arrived and was 3q full. There was no emptying day whilst we were there. It is now full.
All told, a great holiday cottage and place

Thank you for your review on Yew Tree Cottage in Blakeney. Reviews like this one, allow us to improve our services for our customers.
We can only apologise for the lack of wifi at Yew Tree Cottage however, it seems like it worked in your favour. We have spoken to the owners and they have assured us that they are going to be addressing this as a matter of urgency to ensure that future guests can enjoy it. We have also ensured that a bin calendar is placed at the property in a prominent place to make sure bins are collected and placed at the roadside when necessary. Thank you again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Norfolk in the near future.

Convenient, comfortable and private
We stayed here for a week after dropping off our daughter at Uni in Norwich, and had a thoroughly relaxing time.It really couldn't be more convenient for all the amenities that Blakeney can offer, and yet was very private, being tucked away with its own gated courtyard. However, you may need a torch to initially locate it if you arrive after dark as we did!
The only drawback for us was the narrow twisting staircase, although this is of course is a feature of these cottages. But it certainly wouldn't put us off staying here again.

Great family holiday
We had a great time at yew tree cottage. We were a bit worried about the steep stairs as we have very young children but they were fine and asked if they could have stairs like that in their house . The cottage was beautiful and it was spotlessly clean. The coffee machine, dvds and board games were a great hit for the whole family. The location was amazing. Parking was a a bit of a pain with two young children. We arehoping to book for next year as we all loved it. Thank you

We had a lovely week in Yew Tree Cottage. Bit awkward to get car near to unload and pack up but really worth it. Cottage is beautiful and very handy for lovely walks, shop and pub. Blakeney is a lovely place.

Outside
The cottage is situated in a quiet loke with no passing traffic, with the great advantage of a fully enclosed courtyard garden. Outdoor furniture and barbecue. Parking The closest parking is about 120 yards up the High Street from the cottage - this is a pay and display car park. A few free spaces are sometimes available on the quay, and there is ample parking in the National Trust controlled Carsner car park by the channel, but beware during very high tides sections of this car park will flood. Alternatively the Village Hall car park is free, safe and reliable. Yew Tree Cottage is set back from the High Street, on a small loke. We recommend that you don't try to reverse into the loke to unload as it is very tight.
