Sweet little cottage with everything you need with a t
Private weeny yard behind a big wall that blocks the view of the sea but iz a suntrap at mid day. Great base to travel the county and has the wonderful heritage of the two tin mines close by. Loved the wildness of this part of the coast with amazing views and gorgeous coastal paths and coves. Will be back later this year 😀 thank you to the cottage owners, Ann and Pete for the friendship and bike hire plus the holiday company for facilitating the stay - we love Kernow! A beautiful cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We had a lovely week in Trewellard and the weather was magnificent! The cottage was comfortable and welcoming with plenty of room for two of us and our dog. The storage heaters make it very cosy and there is an electric log burner for the colder evenings. it was great to have a washer/dryer too.
I highly recommend going on one of the Marine Discovery tours run from Penzance by Marine Biologists who are amazingly knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. The dolphins were hiding the day I went out but the blue fin tuna made up for it. I also visited Geevor mine which was fascinating. the walks nearby are beautiful and I know we have not even scratched the surface of where to go. When you are there, try the coffee van in Penzance. He is eco-friendly and all cups and lids are fully recyclable. His coffee is delicious too!
If you are into car boot sales and the weather is good, we recommend going to Rosudgeon on a Wednesday morning. It is a great car boot and our coffee man goes there too!
We ate at the Meadery over the road and I can't say I was particularly impressed at what seemed to be a fake mediaeval diner but the food was fine. My dinner of choice is over at the Logan Inn but we did not make it this time. The beach at Long Rock is dog friendly on one side all year round and is a lovely stretch of sand that Poppy really enjoyed. Fistral beach is also dog friendly all year, much to our surprise. We went to Sennen Cove to watch the sun set and as usual, were not disappointed! It was stunning!
Ann and Peter look after the cottage and were very lovely and helpful, especially when I couldn't work the tin opener! All in all, we had a lovely week and will be back!
