Book Friday and Saturday night and get Thursday or Sunday night free with some peak season and holiday exceptions....but you must ask for the free night when you submit your request for a quote or a reservation request! Weeknight rates are usually discounted $100 per night as compared to weekends and if you book four or five weeknights one will be free if you ask for the free night. We consider one night bookings in our slower months of January and February, if there is one night sandwiched between two bookings or if it is within a week or two of the date requested, but a $100 premium may be added (we will likely reduce the cleaning fee to $100 if you have a small group less than 4 or possibly if you only stay one night and have less than 8 so please ask). Bookings less than a week will not exceed our weekly rate rent of $1,200 plus tax (in most cases except for some holidays), the cleaning fee and the VRBO service fee. The $59 non-refundable insurance premium is required for groups over four, but we may require the $99 insurance premium for large groups and also for families with children and pets. We recently added a fenced in yard for those of you with furry children. It allows your dogs to roam freely in back when you are out on the patio or on the deck. We do charge a $50 pet fee per weekend or $100 pet fee per week which helps pay for the fence. If you are bringing pets that must be disclosed before your arrival.
This luxury home on magical Mount Yonah offers a very special experience! Our new home is located in a gated community and has been available for guests as of May 2016. It has a white-washed cottage style table for 10 guests, a queen sofa bed, a reclining sofa and two day beds (with trundle beds below) for relaxing after dinner as well as a king size bed in each of the three bedrooms.
If you have multiple families for a wedding or a family reunion there is another house very similar to ours built by the same builder a few doors down. In addition there are two other homes with 15 bedrooms between the four homes. Contact us for details on how to book some or all the homes.
This enchanting home will capture your heart from the time you walk up the flagstone walkway to the grand entrance to the time you leave with cherished memories of your fairytale getaway. The front of the house is surrounded by mountain laurel and blooming flowers with a flagstone walkway that meanders around the house to an inviting patio where you can enjoy the view and the chirping birds along with our fire pit and our new seven person Hot Spot Rhythm hot tub.
The first thing you will notice when you walk in the door is the scent of the cedar siding and the beautiful cherry wood floors. As you walk into the house you will feel the grandeur of the soaring cathedral ceiling in the great room along with the wall of windows and warm stone fireplace. Then your eyes will be drawn to the million dollar mystical view in back which looks like a postcard. Windows and high ceilings abound in this charming home with so many extras you will never want to leave. We even have nine foot ceilings upstairs.
The clean and bright gourmet kitchen with white granite counter tops make it a pleasure to spend time in the kitchen. The white washed cottage style dinner table has room for 10 family members and friends for those of you who want to share your rare find on Mount Yonah. There is also a table with room for six on the deck with patio furniture and two rocking chairs if you prefer to dine outside. The warm fire in the stone fireplace adds just the right ambiance in the colder months and in the warmer months we have candles you can light to add to the ambiance.
Then relax on the reclining sofa or go out to one of the rocking chairs on the deck to do a little star gazing. It's a great place to enjoy the mountain air and the open sky. The deck is the place to go to enjoy the twinkling lights in the valley below as well as the moon and stars above as the clouds roll past. We also have a fire pit on the patio with six Adirondack chairs where you can go toast marshmallows or sip some wine by the fire or you can take a relaxing dip in the hot tub overlooking the valley. If you like ping pong we have a midsize ping pong table you can set up as well as cards, puzzles and other games.
When it's time to retire for the night you are in for a treat as each bedroom is impeccably furnished with a very comfortable king size bed, whimsical bear lamps and your own private bathroom. The master bedroom is on the main floor with a vaulted ceiling and sliding glass doors that share that same amazing view as the great room. It has a comfortable king size panel bed and a luxurious spa-like bathroom with a jetted tub with two large windows that looks out at the seven layer long range mountain view. You will feel you are staying at the Mount Yonah Ritz or in a castle in the Alps!
The two spacious bedrooms upstairs have a king size sleigh bed and a king size panel bed and their own luxurious bathrooms as well. There is a half bathroom in the foyer for anyone who may be sleeping in the grandeur of the great room. We have a queen size memory foam sofa bed as well as a day bed with a Sealy Posturepedic mattress and a trundle bed with two six foot tall and seven foot long room divider screens to provide some privacy. There is also a day bed with the same comfortable mattress and a trundle bed below it in the foyer. We even have three roll-away cots that can be set up in a parent's bedroom, upstairs in the hallway or out on the deck for the more adventurous members in your group who may want to try sleeping under the stars!
In the morning there is nothing like having your coffee on the deck in a rocking chair or at the patio table while watching the sunrise come over the mountains. Even storms are amazing at the top of Mount Yonah.
If you like wildlife keep an eye out for the local deer and other critters. We have an abundance of song birds and there are even bears in the area if you are lucky enough to see one.
We have WIFI in the house and Direct TV in the great room and all the bedrooms and three of the flat screen televisions are smart TV's.
If you are not familiar with Cleveland we are the home of "Babyland General" where cabbage patch dolls were created. It is about 20 miles to Dahlonega and about five miles to Helen. Both towns are known for their vineyards and weddings. We expect to get a lot of wedding guests and wine tour guests just like we get at our river house in Dahlonega under VRBO listing 76931. Dahlonega is the site of the first US Goldrush so it has an interesting history which you can learn about at the gold rush museum in the town square and it is the southern most part of the Appalachian Trail. It is also the home of "the Holly Theater" which puts on very professional live plays and musicals.
Helen is just five miles away. It is an alpine village known for Octoberfest, river tubing and it's scenic beauty. There are a lot of festivals and vineyards in the area as well as several state parks including Uniqoi in Helen, Vogel State Park near Dahlonega and Amicolola Falls in Dawsonville.
If you want to learn to kayak we have a family member who lives in Dahlonega who is an avid kayaker. She can provide you with some sit on top kayaks and give you some lessons to kayak on one of the very calm rivers in the area...even school age children can learn to use these sit on top kayaks. Please contact owner for details.
We also have several eating establishments in Cleveland and Yonah Burger is at the base of Mount Yonah just one mile away. The Nachoochee Grill is an upscale dining experience that is also just a few miles away in Helen.
If you want to take some day trips you can ride the Blue Ridge Railway in Blue Ridge or just walk around the town as there are many interesting shops. Brasstown Bald is the tallest mountain in Georgia and is about a 30 minute drive from our home on magical Mount Yonah.
This is a great place to have celebrations which are included in the weekend price for up to 15 guests. If you want to have larger parties or events there could be a $250 to $500 event fee depending on the number of guests (talk with owner for details). Parking is limited to about five or six cars so you would have to shuttle your guests up to the house (Appalachian Transportation may be an option). Guests can probably park at Ingles which is about three miles from the house or ask Yonah Mountain Campground at the base of the mountain if you can park there.
We continue to make improvements every year on this charming and magical place so come experience "The Mount Yonah Castle"!
