## Neighborhood
Not to be confused with London as a whole, The City of London goes by many names. Also known as The City and The Square Mile, The City of London houses the London Stock Exchange and serves as the world’s economic headquarters. Often vying with New York City when it comes to financial industry dominance, The City of London’s glass towers and critically acclaimed skyscrapers (The Gherkin, anyone?) are responsible for London's iconic skyline.
With an 800-year-old history, the City of London has a wealth of museums, galleries, green spaces, bars, restaurants, churches and shops.
The City of London is home to some of London’s most popular attractions, including Tower Bridge, The Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Museum of London. Notable buildings in the area include the Gherkin, 30 St Mary Axe and The Cheesegrater at 122 Leadenhall Street. It’s a great place to dine out, as The City is crammed full of upscale eateries and celebrity chef restaurants. If you have cash to splash, go shopping at the historic Leadenhall Market or Old Spitalfields Market.
## Transit
The nearest Tube Station is Mansion House, less than 5 minutes away. From here you can take the Circle or District Line and get to anywhere in London via the extensive Tube network.
Many places are walkable however, London Bridge is just over 10 minutes walk away, the Bank of England is also 10 minutes away, and St Paul's Cathedral is around the corner!
