About this property

Ligurian/Provençal traditional house circa 1700 refurbished to modern standards.

This is a charming rustic house with a large Mediterranean garden, exotic planting and terraced olive groves. The property overlooks a verdant valley with the Mediterranean Sea on the left side and the foothills leading to the Maritime Alps on the right. Since restorationj the house has functioned as a private family home and has many traditional features which have been carefully preserved and maintained (see photographs). All modern conveniences have been installed and the house is well equipped. There is a substantial front driveway with car parking. Adjacent to the house is a utility room, pizza oven, barbecue and sun/dining terrace with a further (covered) dining terrace beside the kitchen. Internally, ceilings are typically wooden, externally stone walled with Provençal roof tiles.The house lies in the hills above Bordighera and Sanremo on the Italian side and is an half hour from Menton on the French Riviera. San Martino is an adjacent hamlet with Vallebona nearby. Nice airport is 40 minutes drive on the motorway. The access road however is steep in places and somewhat narrow. Bordighera and Sanremo are elegant belle epoch towns with rail stations on the France to Genoa line. All of which provides for a unique experience and an unforgettable holiday. We can only accommodate adult guests this season. We regret that winter/early Spring lettings are not available (November to March).Bookings available April-October. Thanks to all for inquiries.

Fantastic

We had a fantastic stay in a wonderful house surrounded by a gorgeous landscape. The house is furnished with attention to detail. You feel comfortable from the first moment you step in. All you are in need of is available. The sea and Bordighera can be reached in 15 minutes. Brian supplied us with all important information and answered to all our questions immediately. Maureen and Ernesto are really nice and helpful at any time. We all felt comfortable, the dogs included 😊. Thank you Brian that we are allowed to spend our holiday in your lovely house. Séjour idyllique à Bordighera

Nous avons eu quelques difficultés à l'arrivée pour entrer en contact avec la personne qui devait nous ouvrir la maison. MAIS c'était à cause de la mauvaise captation du réseau téléphonique. Nous avons été aidés efficacement par Abritel et pu joindre le propriétaire (très aimable) ainsi que la personne qu'il avait dévolue à l'accueil (très aimable et serviable aussi). La Maison était un bijou de confort et de bon goût. Le jardin magnifique et bien entretenu. Le chemin pour y parvenir un peu long et vertigineux, mais cela faisait aussi partie du charme. Nous avons pris grand plaisir à ce séjour. La météo n'était pas très favorable aux bains de mer, mais le tourisme culturel a largement compensé cet aléa. Il y a de très nombreuses et belles choses à visiter alentour: Villas d'artistes, villages typiques avec ruelles historiques, parcours concernant le peintre Claude Monet etc... À peine à 1h de Nice où nous avons pu visiter l'exposition Berthe Morisot, au Musée des Beaux-Arts. Nous étions enchantés. Après ces visites, nous étions heureux de rentrer dans cette agréable maison où l'on se sent "comme chez soi". Véritable sweet home ! Belles soirées calmes avec le chant des grenouilles... De beaux souvenirs en perspective...

Ein kleines Paradies inmitten einer grandiosen Landschaft

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt und die Ruhe in diesem wunderschönen, urigen und individuell ausgestattetem Haus sehr genossen. Es liegt abseits jeglichen Trubels und versteckt in einem wunderschönen Garten hoch oben in den Bergen. Die Aussichten, die man von dort genießen kann, sind grandios und entschädigen für die doch sehr enge und steile Anfahrt, aber an die haben wir uns recht schnell gewöhnt. Unser herzlicher Dank geht an Brian für die reibungslose Kommunikation, ebenso an Maureen und Ernesto, die stets für uns erreichbar waren. Danke!

Gemütliche, außergewöhnliche Unterkunft in schöner Lage

Wir (2 Erwachsene, 3 kleinere Kinder und ein Hund) haben unseren Sommerurlaub in diesem Ferienhaus verbracht. Das Haus und der Garten sind sehr schön. Das Haus ist sehr alt und gemütlich. Es wirkt überhaupt nicht wie ein Ferienhaus, da die Besitzer es offenbar häufig selber nutzen und so auch viele persönliche Gegenstände vorhanden sind (Bücher, CDs, DVDs etc.). Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, wer gerne kocht kommt hier auf seine Kosten. Die Außenbereiche sind ein Traum, die Kinder hatten viel Platz zum Spielen und der Hund konnte weitgehend frei laufen (teilweise eingezäuntes Gelände). Das Haus liegt auf knapp 500 Metern, daher war es immer ein bis zwei Grad kühler als im Tal. Es ist allerdings recht abgelegen. Den nächsten kleinen Ort (Vallebona, sehr hübsch) erreicht man in ca. 10 Minuten mit dem Auto. Die Anfahrt ist ziemlich abenteuerlich. Es geht auf einer schmalen Straße extrem bergauf und bergab, man sollte hiermit also keine Probleme haben. Der nächste Strand ist in Bordighera (15 Min. mit dem Auto). Diesen haben wir oft besucht, es ist ein typischer Stadtstrand mit viel Trubel, Bagni und Kiesstrand. Vor Ort gibt fungiert ein Paar als Ansprechpartner. Die beiden sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Fazit: Wer gerne ruhig und etwas abgelegener wohnt und eine familiäre, nicht sterile Wohnumgebung sucht, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Man ist allerdings immer auf das Auto angewiesen, zu Fuß ist nichts erreichbar. Es ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die fantastische Umgebung. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen! Vielen Dank an Brian, Ernesto und Maureen für den reibungslosen Ablauf und den schönen Aufenthalt!

Ruhige Lage abseits von Massen

Die Anreise ist etwas abenteuerlich. Auf keinen Fall mit dem Navi sich leiten lassen. Wer es entspannter mag, sollte über Soldano und S. Martin anreisen. Die Hausbetreuer holen einem ab und geleiten zum Haus. Das Haus liegt in den Hügeln, idylische ruhige Lage mit Glühwürmchen am Abend. Vom Haus direkt kein Blick aufs Meer. Die Entfernung zum Meer ist etwas weiter wie angegeben. Die Bergdörfer, besonders die kleineren unbekannten haben Ihren Reiz. Ebenso Flusstäler in der Umgebung. Wir haben es genossen. Das Haus bietet bis auf eine Spülmaschine und einen Schneebesen alles was man braucht. 2 Bäder und eine Gästetoilette. 2 Schlafzimmer. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die große Terasse ein Traum. Wir haben sogar Kontakt zu einheimischen gefunden. Wir sagen Danke für die Gastfreundschaft

Ein außergewöhnliches Feriendomizil!

Ein traumhaftes Berggrundstück mit liebevoll, originalgetreu und detailreich renoviertem Haus. Es gibt unendlich viel zu entdecken; geschmackvolle Kunst, regionale Antiquitäten, Literatur ohne Ende, stapelweise DVDs, Zeitschriften und zwischendrin immer wieder originelle Kleinigkeiten. Die Ausstattung im gesamten Haus ist super. Küchengeräte (teilweise liebevoll zusammengetragene Unikate), Grillzubehör, zusätzliche Bettdecken, jede Menge Tischdecken, Platzsets, Stoffservietten, Holzmöbel auf der Terrasse und und und. Normalerweise kaufen wir in jedem Urlaub irgendetwas für die Küche, weil es uns fehlt, aber diesmal war wirklich alles da. Mit dem Garten verhält es sich ähnlich: Wer sich auskennt, findet allerlei Schätze, mit denen sich Tisch und Teller bereichern lassen. Ein organisiertes Kräuterbeet sucht man vergeblich, vielmehr findet man wie zufällig Oregano, Rosmarin, Thymian, Salbei und auch Lorbeer. Es gibt neben den Oliven eine Birnenquitte, wilde Pastinaken, wunderbar süße Äpfel (zumindest im September...) und noch vieles mehr. Wer gern kocht, kommt hier nicht nur der Kräuter wegen voll auf seine Kosten: man hat die Qual der Wahl zwischen der Küche im Haus, dem gemauerten Grill und dem Außenbackofen. Die Straße zum Haus ist steil und stellenweise recht eng, aber nach wenigen Fahrten fährt man sie entspannt, zumal man kaum zehn Minuten auf ihr verbringt. Der Blick in die Täler und auf die Berge ist die Fahrt auf alle Fälle wert! Wir hatten aufgrund der individuellen Ausstattung des Hauses das Gefühl, bei Freunden zu Besuch zu sein und nicht ein kommerzielles Ferienobjekt zu mieten. Dazu trug auch die wirklich angenehme und immer sehr zeitnahe Kommunikation mit den Hausbesitzern und den Verwaltern vor Ort bei. Danke Brian, Maureen und Ernesto!

Ottima accoglienza,essenziale in quanto non cosi semplice da raggiungere, ma di una bellezza rara e unica, organizzata sia sull'interno, vi è tutto, che su l'esterno, il giardino come la casa si può definire rilassante e da scoprire ,Esempio la fioritura del cactus in giardino,inoltre situata in una posizione all'interno di una cultura agroalimentare , di cui si può godere ampiamente, e visti gli spazi adatta a qualsiasi turista educato e rispettoso della natura. Un paradiso, con il mare a 10 minuti. giorgio tolosano. ps un ringraziamento a Mauriiin la sig.ra che accoglie delicata e presente. da tornare
