A charming air-conditioned gîte sleeping up to 5 guests, set among olive groves at Domaine de la Bade near Carcassonne.

This self catering vacation rental (gîte) is located on a small scale domaine with 5 other holiday houses (gîtes), set on 14 hectares (30 acres) of private land with fields, woods, an olive grove and gardens with shared swimming pool.

The stunning Domaine de la Bade is located in Raissac-sur-Lampy in the sunny South of France. Near the world famous Unesco World Heritage site of Carcassonne, we completely redesigned a traditional farm­house with old barns into six contemporary holiday houses (gȋtes).

With spectacular views of the Carcassonne valley and the Pyrenees, Domaine de la Bade is the ideal location to enjoy a sophisticated yet relaxed holiday in this charming region of the South of France.

Come and enjoy the sunny terraces, shady corners, nice hammocks, great swimming pool, delicious food, fine wines and above all the relaxed and informal atmosphere where you can truly feel at home.

The holiday house:
Gîte Malepère "Bas" is located mainly on the ground floor of Maison Malepère, which houses two of the six gîtes. Beautifully situated on a hilltop with spectacular views over the Malepère wine region and the Carcassonne valley.

Featuring 2 spacious bedrooms, 1 bathroom and plenty of living space to comfortably accommodate 5 persons.

Large panoramic terrace doors provide access to your private terrace with BBQ and breathtaking views of the countryside.

The house features a spacious living room with a cosy seating area. There is free Wi-Fi access and free private parking is available at the property.

A wonderful house, spacious comfortable and beautiful. Lovely ground and views with a pool overlooking the glorious countryside.Hosts Joep and Miranda were wonderful and if they offer to cook dinner say "Yes!"Pity this haven is on the other side of the world for us.

OUR STORY

When we were packing up our house in Belgium to prepare for our move to France, we came across one of my old diaries which I always kept up to date with our vacation adventures.

There is where we found what must have been the real turning point in the decision making that one day we would move to France. It was the year 2000 and Joep and myself had just visited the magnificent Chateau de Chambord in the Loire region and were digesting the magnificense of the place on a little bench in the park of the Chateau.

The nearby market with local products was full of life and in combination with the magnificence of the castle it created an idillic atmosphere. It was at that exact moment that a vision started to form about how life could be for the two of us in France; working together, welcoming guests to our place in the sun and enjoying life!

It took us another 10 years to actually take the big decision to put our house on the market and start the search for the perfect place in France. But on that bench with a view of the Chateau de Chambord is where it all began…
