The Pilot House "Crow's Nest". Excellent lake views! Downtown Bayfield location at the corner of 1st Street and Washington Avenue. Just 1 block from the Madeline Island Ferry. 1-3 blocks from beaches, and kayak rentals, with coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, museums, marinas, and the library all within a short walk. The Iron Bridge Trail is just up the hill—no car needed. The best location for Lake & Down Town Views and for the Point to La Point Swim in August.

2nd dlevel with 17 steps! The "Crows Nest" Sleeps 2 and has breath taking views of Madeline Island off in the distance and looks over the top of the downtown Bayfield area. Walk to everything. Breakfast Blue Berry Muffins, yogurts, orange & grape juice. Coffee maker with coffee and condiments in room along with a Mini Refrigerator. Guests may use our Ice Machine in refrigerator and microwave. Paper plates, plastic forks, knives, spoons next to refrigerator in dining room.

After making a reservation, we will email you and you must immediately reply to our email (not VRBO messaging) with your full address, names of guests, there addresses and which are adults and children and their addresses, for Wisconsin Guest Registry Statute. Please reply to our email we will send you within 1 hour with this information. After we receive, we will email you a door code, arrival & departure instructions.

Jack was a great host and went out of his way to make our stay an enjoyable one. The Crow's Nest has a great view, but there are a few stairs to negotiate in and out so be aware.I highly recommend this venue for anyone visiting Bayfield!

We had a great stay. We loved the comfortable bed and views from communal balconies were fantastic! Host was friendly and easy to communicate with. Very clean accommodations. We would have enjoyed better coffee in a ceramic mug instead of hotel room coffee maker with paper cups.

Jack is a fantastic host. The place was in a perfect location with everything just a few minutes' walk away. Also, Jack made us feel at home, and we would highly recommend staying there.

Jack met us at arrival, walked us through the property, explained the history and significance of the property. We had the privacy we wanted, but enjoyed meeting other guests on the two shared patios and dining area. The properties very centrally located, we walked to most of our activities and meals, only driving if we left town. There is a great hiking trail only one block from the house.

Overall our stay was positive. Room and large bathroom with very nice decor/interior. Great views from bedroom but had to be standing or sitting on the two hightop chairs provided in order to enjoy the water views as the surrounding window placement was high in the room. That being said, you really can enjoy being king of the hill as long as you're ok with climbing the very steep driveway and steep set of stairs that get you to the Crow's Nest! Brilliant views from the main level of the house and the two mid-size decks. Jack was welcoming and hospitable in giving us a nice intro to the house and a brief lay of the land in the very pleasant town of Bayfield. Nice light breakfast including delicious blueberry muffins! Thanks much Jack!

Its a great view of Bayfield and a nice spot to stay at with great accommodations (breakfast, 2 decks, glassware). The Crows Nest is very cozy and a great spot to spend the night and go explore the surrounding area during the day.The host is very personable.Only thing of note is to be careful on the driveway. When you do it once, you can do it everytime!

The Pilot House is a great place to stay!

We spent four nights here and found it very comfortable and enjoyable. Close to everything in downtown Bayfield - we could easily walk to all of the restaurants and shops, as well as the Apostle Islands Cruises and the ferry to Madeline Island. The hosts were very friendly and readily available if anything was needed. We would definitely stay here again!
