About the property

2 bedroom apartment on the lower level of our family home in garden setting

602 Archibald avenue apartment is located on the lower level of our home and set in a small tropical garden in a residential neighbourhood in St. George's. Relax on the patio and enjoy our garden. Try our seasonal fruits (mangoes in May & June). Ask our gardener for a tour of the garden. We grow and sell vegetables.

Our Kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, dishes, cutlery, utensils, coffeemaker, kettle, toaster.

Our Dining area has a table, 4 chairs and 2 stools and there is a small sitting area with TV.

Each of our bedrooms has a Queen size bed (sheet sets are provided), dresser and closet;

Our bathroom is equipped with shower, sink and toilet. Towels and wash cloths are provided.

One Island tour is being offered at an extra charge. You may select and add it to your rental fee at the time of your reservation to stay with us or decide during your stay and pay for it at that time. Additional tours can be arranged through our tour guide. Our weekly rate includes Pick-up and Drop-off at the airport. Taxi and and car rental services can be arranged for you. They are not included in our apartment rate at this time; however, we can facilitate arranging for these services upon request and the rates can be obtained from the service provider before or at the time of your visit.

One (1) Housekeeping service per week is included in your weekly rate. You may select and pay for additional Housekeeping services at an extra charge when you make your reservation or decide during your stay and pay for the services at that time. You may hand wash clothes in our small laundry room near the apartment and hang to dry. Outside laundry service is available. If you need someone to wash and fold during your stay, please let me know. There will be an extra charge for this service.

Please take advantage of your location. Our apartment is at a great location to start your walking tour to the heart of the town of St. George's (capital of Grenada) and surrounding areas such as the carenage. You will experience the picturesque setting of the town and see historic buildings and structures. Although it will take about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the heart of St. Georges, allow enough time for a casual stroll via the scenic route and time to browse around. We suggest 2 to 3 hours in order to take in several sites.

A walk to our famous Grand Anse beach from Archibald avenue is much longer than the walk to the heart of St. George's. We suggest that you drive yourself or take a taxi or experience the bus ride. Transportation will take about 12 minutes to the Grand Anse area. If however, you are up to the challenge of walking, allow about an hour and a half to 2 hours for your walk. The walk to Grand Anse is easy to navigate along the main road. Just watch out for the busy traffic. Be safe!

From Archibald Avenue:

The Maurice Bishop International Airport is about 20 to 25 minutes drive

Grand Anse Beach is about a 12 to 15 minutes drive

Nearest Golf Course is about 15 minutes drive

Nearest Police and Fire station is on the Carenage; about 15 minutes walk.

Nearest restaurant (Tropicana) is about 8 to 10 minutes walk.

Nearest bar (Yacht club) is about 10 minutes walk.

Nearest Supermarket (Foodland) along Kirani James Boulevard is about 15 to 20 minutes walk.

Shop and Bakery (The Blue Danube), Lowthers lane - 6 minutes walk taking the shortcut up the hill. You can see Blue Danube from the house.

Grenada General Hospital is near Fort George about 7 minutes drive; about 20 minutes walk.

Churches: Roman Catholic Cathedral, Anglican church, Presbyterian church are all located in the town of St. George's. They are easy to find.

About Terry

My name is Terry. I was born in Grenada in the parish of St. John. I migrated to Canada in 1970 and pursued a career in Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto. Before I came to Canada, I lived at 602 Archibald Avenue with my parents and siblings. Whenever I go to Grenada on vacation, I would stay at our family home. I really love and enjoy my vacations in Grenada.

It is a home where one can relax and enjoy our garden and experience that country feeling. We have some seasonal fruits and vegetables in the garden. Be sure to try our mango, sugar apple, star apple or wax apple if they are in season when you are staying with us on your vacation.

The apartment suited our needs very well. We enjoyed being in a residential neighbourhood. The kitchen functioned well with basic equipment and the people associated with the rental were warm and kind.

Loved our week at Terry's apartment!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The apartment is perfect for self-catering and close to all activities.

A lovely start to our adventure was Terry’s prearranged pick-up by Reuben at the airport, and finding fresh flowers and water in the apartment. Whenever we needed a ride, Reuben was always there for us and very knowledgeable about the island.

Lisa was delightful and so helpful with the apartment. She even went out of her way to guide me to a pharmacy in town when I needed some medicine. Terry’s Aunt Rita is charming and fun to talk with.

The location is lovely and peaceful, with Raphael’s beautifully kept gardens right outside the door. He was so sweet to share some of his goodies with us.

The bed was comfy, the shower soothing - all in all, a nice home away from home.

Terry is very prompt with communications, answering questions and sharing advice for the area.

We highly recommend a stay here! Many thanks to everyone for the wonderful hospitality and we look forward to returning soon.

A GRENADIAN GEM - 4.5 stars

This newly renovated apartment has a well equipped kitchen and the added benefit of outside space to relax in. WIFI access is available. Special thanks to Terry who was a great friend and resource to us. An abundant garden beside the house is seriously maintained by Raphael, a gem of a gardener, who often leaves fruit surprises in the morning. Without a car, St George’s and the supermarket are a 20 min walk downhill. Taxis are available to take you home but you need to arrange a pick you up at the house in the evening or the heat of the day. The only downside of this location is the distance from the beach and the occasional night noises of dogs, drummers and roosters!

What an adventure we two CDN ladies in our 60’s had touring the Spice Island of Grenada. And we did it without a car for the most part. Use the buses, wherever possible. They are fun, good value and a great way to meet the locals. (But don’t take one from the main terminal, unless you are prepared to pay for all of the seats...or you will wait until they are full!)

There is a lot to do on Grenada. (See Goats on the Road, Grenada website) Visit the island beaches of Grand Anse and beautiful La Sagesse- swim, beach walk, sunbathe and visit with locals. Day trip to Dougaldston Spice Estate to see nutmeg processing and Belmont Estate, a 17th century plantation. Tour St Georges shops, local market and Steel Pan school. And dance to great live music at Prickly Bay, Dodgy Docks at True Blue Bay and Umbrellas Beach Bar at Grand Anse. Eat seafood at The Edge or BB’s Crabback and local food at Patricks.

But the best thing about Grenada is getting to know the people. They are kind, respectful, fun, helpful and proud to be from Grenada! Everyone says Good Morning or Good Afternoon!! Our first visit to Grenada, but hopefully not our last.

We enjoyed hearing the stories of their adventures and experiences as they toured different areas of our beautiful island by bus. IT'S A QUIET AREA NEAR THE CENTER. THE APARTMENT IS VERY SPACIOUS AND CLEAN WITH A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN.

IT'S PERFECT TO DISCOVER ST. GEORGE, GRENADA AND GRAND ANSE BEACH.

It is a great location to start your walking tour to the centre of the town of St. George’s and to see Grenada’s capital (St. George’s) and surrounding areas on foot. Use the scenic route. A casual walk down Lowthers lane will take you pass the the Tropicana restaurant at the right just after the second roundabout. The Yacht club is a little further along to your left. Continue along the main road to the Carenage (the Warf) where you can see the boats.. Take in the scenery of the sea and the surroundings. Stop in at the Nutmeg and have some food and drink as you look out at the sea and picturesque setting. Continue your walk around the Carenage and walk through the Sendall Tunnel (named after Governor Wallter J Sendall in 1889). It takes you to the heart of the city (St. George’s) and the Market Square. A very popular market located in the heart of Grenada’s commercial centre. The Market Square was a place once used for public executions, trading slaves and political speeches. Today it is used by farmers and vendors to sell their produce. Browse around for a bit before climbing Market Hill which takes you to lower Lucas street. At the top of Market Hill, to your left stands the Roman Catholic Cathedral which dates back to 1884. Opposite the Roman Catholic Cathedral stands the Parliament Building and Supreme Court which were very badly damaged by hurricane Ivan in September 2004. To your right on Church Street a few meters down you can see the Anglican Church dating back to 1825. Continue your walk straight ahead; stay to the left (top side) and up the hill of Lower Lucas Street (see several Law offices). In about 7 minutes you will come to Woolwich road on the right. Continue your walk along Woolwich road for about 5 minutes to a small round about. Stay to the left of the roundabout and then straight ahead is Archibald Avenue. You are only about 6 minutes away from 602 Archibald avenue.
