Set in the heart of Fort Augustus and looking out over the locks of the Caledonian Canal, these beautifully presented holiday apartments make the perfect base for enjoying the village amenities and also for exploring this lovely part of the Highlands. You can sit in the comfort of your living room and watch boats travel through the canal. This pretty village is situated at the southern end of Loch Ness and is close to the Great Glen Way. Lots to see and do for all ages – monster spotting on Loch Ness, boat trips, mountain biking, canoeing, hill walking to name but a few. Take a trip to Fort William, the ’Outdoor Capital of the UK’, or Inverness, the vibrant Highland Capital. A trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye with the dramatic scenery of the west coast should not be missed. Or just relax and watch the ever changing views over the village. Restaurant 40 yards, shop and pub 20 yards.

Nice location in a lovely village where restaurants, shops and pubs close by. We all really enjoyed the week there.

We would stay here again - amazing location looking over the lock. We did have major central heating issues - Mandy was great and gave us heaters and more firewood but we still had no hot water for a couple of days. It was clear they were trying to fix the problem but I guess a new boiler is needed. Didn’t put us off though - we would still go back. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A great place to stay!! We loved being right alongside the locks on the Caledonian Canal. Fort Augustus is a great location as a base for exploring the Loch Ness area. The cottage was comfy and warm. We travelled as a couple and the cottage sleeps 5. I think the kitchen facilities would be challenging for a family of 5. While adequate for 2 people the fridge, cooker and dishwasher are very small. Also the kitchen wasn’t as well equipped as others we have stayed in. The WiFi worked well. The heating did not work on 2 mornings. We notified the caretaker and this was sorted by the afternoon. I have notified the property owners (European Waterways) who have assured me this problem has now been resolved. We saw some amazing scenery and would definitely recommend this property. A very pleasant Cottage with off road parking which was really helpful.

A very pleasant Cottage with off road parking which was really helpful. The Cottage is well managed by Mandy who is friendly and efficient. As with any holiday lets, maintenance is ongoing and some minor plumbing issues were being rectified. My daughter and I enjoyed it very much as its very peaceful with no passing traffic and access to the Canal towpath is outside the door. Fort Augustus is a very nice location and we were pleased to be set back from the main hustle and bustle during the day.

everything was good about the accommodation; prime location and really felt at home.

everything was good about the accommodation; prime location and really felt at home. It is great to have a welcome supply of firewood but a local hardware store was great for us to stock up at a cheap price. the only trouble we found with the accommodation was the boiler. we were prewarned about the boiler which caused most of the showers and baths to have freezing cold water spoiling the experience slightly. Overall we had all enjoyed our stay.
