We had a wonderful week and loved the quiet, the comfort, the little garden to sit in when we were not walking, and of course the area which is so beautiful - with Bewdley and the Severn Path, Malvern and Ludlow all near, as well as the Wyre forest itself. Kitchen is very well equipped. Ample parking. Only slight issue was that there was not really hot water from the immersion heater, which might be a problem in colder months. Wi-fi seemed very reliable (contrary to the description on the website), but no mobile phone reception.

Pear Tree Cottage is situated on a narrow country road.
Pear Tree Cottage is situated on a narrow country road. At the back of the house there is a small enclosed field (no livestock when we were there), which is surrounded by woodland. It is a very quiet location, which we loved. We heard a tawny owl calling every night! The cottage itself is much larger than it seemed on the website photos. The bedrooms are spacious, the bathroom is also a good size. The shower room with toilet is small but was perfectly adequate for us. The lounge area is also a good size. Everything we needed was supplied, even towels. Although we did take our own washing up liquid and cloths. There is an adjoining cottage but when we were there the occupants only stayed for the weekend, and we didn't hear any noise from that dwelling. The cottage looks out on to the field and trees, so it has a real feeling of being secluded. The only downside to us was the spiders in the downstairs bedroom. My daughter is afraid of them and we found several during the course of a week. I think this could easily be dealt with by spider killer spray. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

A beautifully presented and well-equipped dog-friendly holiday cottage in a quiet rural location, with great access to lovely countryside and close to the River Severn and the historic towns of Bewdley and Ludlow. The cottage was clean and the Wi-fi worked fine for us (not the fastest but met all our needs). We loved the layout (over 4 levels) and had a lovely, relaxing week.

Having read the most recent review, we were a bit apprehensive about booking Pear Tree Cottage; however, we are so glad we did and were definitely not disappointed. It is in a wonderfully peaceful location with views over the garden, field and then the forest. We picked it purposefully for its location and we were surrounded by birds and wildlife. The road to the cottage is very quiet (most days, we only heard a handful of vehicles). The cottage is homely and comfortable over 4 floors, although with only 5 or 6 steps in between levels (my Dad is not the most mobile but he loved it and wasn't phased by the steps). We were very lucky with the weather and when back at the cottage, we ate, sat and chilled outside in the garden most of the week (which you access round the side of the cottage). We played garden games, read and relaxed on the relatively small lawn. With 2 shower / bathrooms, it was perfect for 2 couples. There are lovely walks from the door and many others within a few minutes drive, along with a convenience shop and pubs. I would not hesitate to recommend Pear Tree Cottage and will definitely stay again when in the area.
