At 'A Bay' you can snorkel, swim, or just play in warm tropical waters along coral reefs, or stroll along its mile long white sand beach, lined with coconut palms, next to ancient royal Hawaiian fish ponds with the 13,000 foot Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa Mountains as a backdrop. At 'A-Bay' you can take a daytime or sunset sail, see tropical fish from a glass bottom boat or spend time on a whale watching cruise. 'A-Bay' is just a seven minute walk or just a one minute drive away.

'A 7 day Hawaiian vacation with my two daughters proved to be utterly spectacular while staying at 321 Shores. In the early mornings, we enjoyed Kona coffee (or hot chocolate) while relaxing on the tiled lanai in comfortable, padded lounge chairs. 321 is very spacious with windows galore! Uniquely enough, you get a lot of privacy because 321 is an end unit located on the 3rd floor. I enjoyed visiting the pool area at the Shores and taking advantage of the concierge services.
Not only did they book dinner reservations for my family, but they helped us locate the best snorkeling beaches. Another advantage to staying at 321 is being located within walking distance to the Kings Shops shopping and 'A Bay' beach (where we swam with sea turtles). 321 was perfect for my family and me. This condo features all the comforts of home (and more) and it's priced at a value below other units. I will pine until my next visit to Hawaii and my stay at 321 Shores.' About A. J.
I moved to the Big Island from California twenty years ago and I've enjoyed every day here. The many large or small private beaches, the mountains, the great weather, the ocean, racing in large or small Hawaiian canoes, snorkeling along the reefs, horseback riding, fishing along the coast or hiking in the mountains, performances at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea, all the fine restaurants, the farmers' markets, there is always something new and different to do.

Why A. J. chose Puako
I chose the Waikoloa/Kohala area for my home and the condos because of the great weather and the Waikoloa/Kohala beaches which are unsurpassed on the Big Island and certainly some of the best anywhere. I bought condos close to my home so that I can ensure that the condos and everything in them are in top condition at all times. Plus, I'm close by if needed for any reason, even if just to answer questions about the area or give directions, etc.
What makes this Condo unique
I occasionally spend an evening or two at the condos because they're close to my home and to make sure that everything is as I would want it to be if I were a guest there.

A piece of Big Island paradise
We stayed at 321Shores from 3/25 through 4/7.....my husband and I could not have been happier. The unit was lovely, wonderful island inspired decor, comfortable king size bed.....huge shower and really cool double sinks. We had breakfast every day on the lanai. We ate out a few times and made use of the grill( very close to the unit)....the kitchen is well stocked with everything a person would need. The owner was very nice and checked in with us to make sure had no questions. I hope to return one day and would love to come back to this unit. I encourage all considering this unit to book it....great location and great unit
Great place to stay and within walking distance to the beach.
A.J.’s place was clean and had everything that we needed at the place to make ourselves feel like we were at home away from home. Being a first time visitor to the Big Island, A.J. supplied directions and tips prior to our trip, so we felt like we were right at home as we stepped off the plane. He will help out, if you have any questions and wants to make sure your experience is what you expect it to be. It was a pleasure, to stay at A.J.’s and would highly recommend it.
It was a short walk to the public beach, and the pool at the place was great also. We can’t wait to go back and stay again.
I am very pleased that this young family fully enjoyed my condo at the Shores, the pool and the nearby beach. They were also very responsible guests, which is always appreciated. I look forwdr to their next visit.
Nice place to stay
We enjoyed spending some time at this one bedroom condo. Bed was comfortable and bathroom had 2 sinks. The condo is one minute to the pool, but we couldn't figure out how to get to the beach in less than 10 minutes (including drive time and/or walk time)
Good location, clean, quiet and a nice decor.
My wife and I spent 10 wonderful days on the Big Island. The location of the condo is in a beautiful setting, within walking distance of the beach, shopping and restaurants. Being on the third floor the condo was quiet. The accommodations were clean and nicely decorated with everything that was needed. If you are an early riser, you can enjoy the beautiful sunrises over Mauna Kea on the condo's spacious lanai. A.J. the owner, was very attentive in providing suggestions and answering questions. I would stay there again and also recommend the condo to others.
These guests were very responsible, clean, neat and easy and fun to talk with. They took full advantage of my suggestions and the tour books in the condo and did lots of exploring around the Island. I would recommend them to any condo/vacation rental owner. Of course, they are welcome back at any time.
The location was perfect and the complex was very nice. Beautiful pool area. AJ was always available.
The unit itself is very dated.
In 2016 the bathroom in this condo was totally remodeled with travertine marble shower, counter and flooring and with double vessel sinks with waterfall spouts and with both a wall mounted adjustable shower head and a ceiling flood type shower head. (Please see the photos.) At the same time the kitchen counters were redone in a modern epoxy abstract design. In spring of 2017 the floors were changed to tropical bamboo flooring and the entire unit was repainted in vibrant tropical colors chosen by a local interior designer. The two flat screen TVs in the living area and bedroom are just two years old. The new sofa bed in the living area was purchased in the summer of 2017. The condo has Hawaiian traditional wicker and rattan furniture and the walls have Hawaiian motif paintings by local Hawaiian artists. I am puzzled by this guests "dated" comment. Perhaps she just does not appreciate or understand Hawaiian design and decor. On the other hand this guest was one of the most difficult ever. She lowered the refrigerator temperature to the lowest possible which caused the condensation tubing to freeze with resulting water to pool under the vege crispers. She turned the hot water temp to the highest which had to be reduced so as not to scald the next guests. She wanted the A/C to run for 24 hours a day even when she was gone during the day and night. She complained that the communal barbecues were not hot enough. In 20 years I've never had those complaints from any other guests. They left the place in mess. A very nice bathroom rug with imprinted palm trees had to be thrown away. There was food left around the sofa and the bed. The microwave and convection oven both had burnt, sticky spills. Wet towels were left on the floor in different rooms. The wash cloths were used to remove make up and so were thrown away. The collection of garbage included take out cartons, liquor and wine bottles and just days of refuse. Somehow they could not figure out how to open the folding beach chairs. Three of the four snorkels for guests had been broken and had to be replaced. A small bath room fish ornament is gone. It took over four hours to clean and restore a one bedroom condo back to my standards. And so on. Just the luck of the draw I guess. The next guests after this reviewer love the condo and have had a great time.
Very comfortable and relaxing stay
My wife and I stayed at 321 at The Shores and had a wonderful time. AJ has clearly put a lot of thought into making his unit comfortable for guests, and he also took the time to call and make sure that we weren't lacking anything. The unit is quiet, spacious, clean and updated, with a large lanai that looks out over the Kohala, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa volcanoes. There are lots of windows and a nice breeze allowed us to sleep comfortably without AC (although the unit does have AC). We cooked about half the time we were there and the kitchen had everything that we needed. Many of the nicest beaches on the island (Hapuna, Mauna Kea, Waialea, A-Bay) are close by, and the Waikoloa Beach market has restaurants and groceries on offer. There is a reasonably cheap grocery store not far away in Waikoloa Village and many more restaurants in Waimea, a 30 minute drive away. We would not hesitate to stay here again!
I am very pleased that these guests fully enjoyed what I offer as well as the Kohala area in general. I provide incoming guests with information about local shopping, horse back riding and other suggested things to see and do. They were perfect and very responsible guests.
