'A 7 day Hawaiian vacation with my two daughters proved to be utterly spectacular while staying at 321 Shores. In the early mornings, we enjoyed Kona coffee (or hot chocolate) while relaxing on the tiled lanai in comfortable, padded lounge chairs. 321 is very spacious with windows galore! Uniquely enough, you get a lot of privacy because 321 is an end unit located on the 3rd floor. I enjoyed visiting the pool area at the Shores and taking advantage of the concierge services.

Not only did they book dinner reservations for my family, but they helped us locate the best snorkeling beaches. Another advantage to staying at 321 is being located within walking distance to the Kings Shops shopping and 'A Bay' beach (where we swam with sea turtles). 321 was perfect for my family and me. About A. J.

I moved to the Big Island from California twenty years ago and I've enjoyed every day here. The many large or small private beaches, the mountains, the great weather, the ocean, racing in large or small Hawaiian canoes, snorkeling along the reefs, horseback riding, fishing along the coast or hiking in the mountains, performances at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea, all the fine restaurants, the farmers' markets, there is always something new and different to do.

Why A. J. chose Waikoloa

I chose the Waikoloa/Kohala area for my home and the condos because of the great weather and the Waikoloa/Kohala beaches which are unsurpassed on the Big Island and certainly some of the best anywhere. I bought condos close to my home so that I can ensure that the condos and everything in them are in top condition at all times. Plus, I'm close by if needed for any reason, even if just to answer questions about the area or give directions, etc.

What makes this condo unique

I occasionally spend an evening or two at the condos because they're close to my home and to make sure that everything is as I would want it to be if I were a guest there.

Loved this place. Felt more and more comfortable the longer e stayed. (8 nights) Loved the comfy bed, tons of fluffy towels and everything else. So great to have everything provided and we used most of it.

A piece of Big Island paradise

We stayed at 321Shores from 3/25 through 4/7.....my husband and I could not have been happier. The unit was lovely, wonderful island inspired decor, comfortable king size bed.....huge shower and really cool double sinks. We had breakfast every day on the lanai. We ate out a few times and made use of the grill( very close to the unit)....the kitchen is well stocked with everything a person would need. The owner was very nice and checked in with us to make sure had no questions. I hope to return one day and would love to come back to this unit. I encourage all considering this unit to book it....great location and great unit

Great Location

Very pretty area. Feels safe and secure. The place was in an awesome location. We were close to the beach, the resorts, and the town. I would recommend a rental car. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. A.J. was helpful and always available. The only complaint I can think of is the bedroom's blinds do not block out the sunlight. However, if you are coming from the mainland you'll probably be up with the sun anyway. I would recommend staying here!

Owner's Response: I'm glad this young couple enjoyed their stay and the central location of my condo. They were also very responsible guests which is always appreciated by my cleaning crew. The minimal light through the metal blinds as an issue is a first for me. The condo does not have black out drapes to make the rooms totally, pitch black during the day. That's not been a problem for guests in the past. With the blinds up guests look out at lush landscaping and Mauna Kea, Hualalai, etc. in the distance.

Lovely stay in Waikoloa

Overall we had a lovely stay at 321 in the shores. The unit had all the accommodation details we were looking for. We really appreciated your prompt communication and thoughtful check in with us to make sure we had what we needed once we were here. Location was perfect for us! We also really loved all the detailed info provided about the property and surrounding area. The late check out was also very nice especially being pregnant and not having to sit at the airport all night. We did have an issue with the washing machine. Definitely felt the machine may need an upgrade which we’ve been notified is happening for future guests. Our concern was addressed promptly. The construction was a bit noisy but we appreciated the notice ahead of time regarding it happening and realize that is unavoidable and not much the host can do. It wasn’t too much of a nuisance since we were out and about for most of the day and updates to the property are always a good sign that it is being maintained. Overall a lovely stay with an even better host! Thank you!!

Owner's Response: It's unfortunate that the washer/dryer stopped working two days before this guest's departure. There is now a brand new GE washer/dryer installed in the condo. The new Association Board has decided to replace the third floor walkway trellis with a new overhead cover. I wrote to this guest about a month before her arrival that the Association had just notified me that the contract had been signed and that the work might be going on in the outside area during her stay. I'm glad it was not a great disturbance for her. These guests were very responsible in every way and their comments are appreciated.

Great location and host

I participated at the conference in Hilton, only 10 min walk. This condo has everything a traveler needs and more. A.J. is a great host, always ready to help. Will stay again if on the Big Island.

airy and light-filled; the opposite of beige

We really enjoyed our stay at AJ's Shores condo. The place is very comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. We only turned on the air-conditioning once - fans and cross-ventilation and/or time spent on the shady lanai gave us all the cool fresh air we needed. Loved the supply closet stocked with items we could use at the beach - the cooler and the chairs especially. The condo is full of color and art; not at all the typical beige-y rental condo.
