Aegea - romantic, private and undisturbed

"Aegea" is set down a long private driveway with off road parking. The villa sits within its own land and looks directly over the Aegean and three of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. The sea here is clean, crystal clear and has a unique aqua colour. Warm in summer and winter, it is superb for swimming and snorkelling.

Agios Ioannis and Papa Nero beaches have numerous good tavernas, bakeries, pharmacy, small supermarkets, cafes and bars and are a three minute drive or can be reached via footpaths in about 15-20 minutes (up hill on way back).

Plaka - one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with its cool beach bar and lovely terrace restaurant is well worth the extra few minutes drive along a partly unmade road or can be reached on foot over a rocky path from Agios Ioannis harbour. Many other villages and beaches are within a 10 minute drive including the charming Damouchari where the original "Mamma Mia" was filmed.

From Aegea's terraces you can hear the sea as it laps the shore in the village of Agios Ioannis below and there are far reaching 360 degree views to the islands of Alonnisos and Skopelos, to Holy Mount Athos in the distance and to Southern Halkidiki on the horizon.

Behind the villa rises the beautiful and wild Pelion Mountain where you can follow the old cobbled and paved trails which connect the local villages and churches through forests of oak, wild chestnut, beech and maple, alongside waterfalls and crossing ancient bridges over mountain streams - the forests and streams reach right down to the sea. Walking maps and walking sticks are supplied.

The natural springs which rise from the mountain and the heavy snow fall in winter ensure that Pelion green for most of the year and there is an abundance of flowers and trees laden with fruit well into December.

At night enjoy the large hot tub on the roof terrace and watch the tiny fishing boats bobbing along the coast and the twinkling lights of the mountain villages.

The Villa

The villa is approximately 105 square meters (1,100 sq ft) and is air conditioned (heats or cools). There is a fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, microwave, Quooker boiling water tap, fridge with small freezer, a dishwasher and a bottle fridge. There is good quality cutlery, crockery, glasses and equipment for all your needs.

The winter lounge has comfortable seating and a log burner. For entertainment there is an Alexa echo dot, blue tooth speakers and a hi fi/turntable with some albums. There is also a smart TV with firestick connection to UK channels and films, good broadband speed, books, walking maps and games.

The bedroom has a sumptuous super king size bed, large armoire, star light ceiling and views from the bed over the Aegean - doors lead from the bedroom to the terraces. Adjoining the bedroom is a comfy summer lounge with bench seating, a log fire and further doors to the terraces - perfect for watching the sun rise.

The bathroom has a large bath, wc, separate shower and Hammam/steam room with aromatherapy and blue tooth speakers.

Beyond the kitchen and front hall is a furnished patio with BBQ. The patio, lower terraces and roof terrace are interconnected. The roof terrace has sun beds, parasol and other seating. The four person Dutch tub holds 650 litres and is cleaned and filled with fresh water ready for your arrival. It can be used for cooling dips or as a hot tub.

The villa is surrounded by olive trees and has an established garden with grapefruit, oranges, lemons, quince and other fruit and nut trees - please help yourself. The bucket showers are a fun way to cool down, especially after a day on the beach

Our daily maid also maintains the garden. You can choose not to have a full clean on days where you would prefer to stay in the villa and not be disturbed. Wi-fi code, instructions for appliances, local maps and information are in the rack in the kitchen

Fresh towels are supplied daily, beach towels and bed linen and changed twice each week, robes and slippers are changed weekly. Luxurious bathroom products and other supplies such as tea, coffee, bottled water, toilet rolls, kitchen towel, sugar etc., are supplied and replenished daily

We want you to have a wonderful and relaxing holiday and appreciate that whilst some guests like to be shown around the villa, others prefer to be handed the keys and left to find their own way around. Please do tell us your preferences and we will do all that we can to make your holiday as you would like it

We offer additional services and are happy to organise boat trips, fishing, canyoning, kayaking and many other activities (more details on the 'About Pelion' page of this website). We provide a laundry service and arrange taxis on request

The villa has been designed for two people and has one super king size bed - with regret we cannot accommodate larger parties. The balustrades to the terraces are not safe for children or for pets
