'Katandra' es la propiedad costera histórica original de Coomba Bay. Situada en el lado sur del lago Wallis, esta propiedad única ofrece alojamiento boutique con un magnífico ambiente campestre costero.

Con 25 acres de encanto de país costero para disfrutar, desde la casa es un fácil nivel de paseo hasta el embarcadero privado. 'Katandra' le ofrece un relajante refugio rural junto al agua donde las mascotas bien educadas son bienvenidas.

Un lugar ideal para parejas que buscan una escapada romántica, ideal para amigos que buscan ponerse al día y reunirse, o un lugar perfecto para familias con niños que adorarán el juego-fuerte, columpios y espacios abiertos. Los huéspedes pueden relajarse en el sofá cama, disfrutar de la puesta de sol, jugar al croquet en el césped o disfrutar de largos almuerzos perezosos en el porche. T

La granja (alrededor del año 1912), ahora renovada con buen gusto, está enclavada entre grandes higueras maduras y rodeada de extensos jardines. Diseñada para acomodar a un máximo de 8 personas, la cocina y los dormitorios se abren a la amplia veranda de estilo rural, con vistas que abarcan toda la propiedad, hasta el paseo marítimo y la bahía. Los huéspedes pueden dejar sus kayaks o canoas en el paseo marítimo o amarrar sus botes en el embarcadero.

Alojamiento

La casa en sí cuenta con 3 habitaciones: 2 suites de un dormitorio de matrimonio y un 3er dormitorio con dos camas individuales. Toda la ropa de cama está incluida, a su llegada encontrará que las camas están hechas y listas para usted.

Si su configuración para dormir supera las 6 personas, hay un sofá cama doble extraíble disponible en el área del salón de la casa. Además del sofá desplegable es un pintoresco 'sueño' separado de la casa principal, el 'sueño' ofrece otro dormitorio de reina suite. Si se requieren arreglos adicionales para dormir, no dude en contactarnos para analizar las opciones disponibles.

Elegante hall de entrada, sala de estar abierta, muebles de calidad, pisos de madera pulida, hermosas toallas, ropa de cama de calidad, lujosos revestimientos de pisos y acogedoras alfombras.

Mesa de comedor, vajilla, cubertería y cristalería para entretener a 8 personas. Cocina moderna y bien equipada con nevera, lavavajillas, microondas, horno a gas grande y encimera de 5 quemadores.

El salón cuenta con chimenea de leña, amplios asientos, muchos cojines, TV digital con pantalla plana Panasonic de 54 ", base para DVD y iPod. También están disponibles numerosos juegos de mesa, DVD, CD, libros y revistas.

Lavandería interna con lavadora de carga frontal y secadora de ropa.

Family Birthday Celebration

We loved our short stay at Katandra and didn't want to leave. The homestead is full of warmth and character, with the open kitchen/dining/lounge area, fire place and the wrap around verandah being the focal points for us. We also rented the separate cottage, also with a great view of the farm and the lake. Our dogs were kept comfortable with wide open space and fenced enclosure when needed. The wood fired pizzas are a must do for this property. We highly recommend this property for those wanting a comfortable and intimate stay. Recommend you bring all supplies needed for your stay, as the road into Coomba Bay is not in great shape.

A great spot for a weekend with old mates

Spacious and isolated which was great for a group of old mates, Excellent wide verandahs to laze about on and enjoy to view, a good chat a glass of red. There were a few maintenance issues but overall great spot for a weekend away with old mates.

Perfect Farmhouse Stay

We travelled here over the new year period for 6 nights (6 Adults). The owner was very quick to respond to all our messages, even getting us an early check-in which was great! House was immaculate with everything you need, including a huge Veranda with a dart board. We opted to have the sleep out too. Great decision! Wood fire oven got an absolute workout while we were there. Best Pizzas ever! the walk down to your own personal wharf is not too far. around about 200m or so. Super peaceful in the morning time! wind picks up in the arvo so get down there early!! 10/10 great house. great spot, extremely isolated! Would stay there again in a heartbeat Matt

Beautiful spot. Spacious and pet friendly. They don’t mention the dog enclosure which was great for trips to the beach and national park which are close by

Full of character

The house was full of charm and character. We had a rainy weekend unfortunately but the house was perfect for it with that lovely fireplace. 6 adults and 2 kids stayed for a weekend and we all had a great time. Some pros/nice touches: - they left us a bottle of bubbly to welcome us - the owners were around fixing things next door (so we didn’t ever really feel their presence) and we’re responsive to any issues including bringing a full gas bottle they had noticed was empty and fixing a lock/door - a decent amount of firewood was supplied, but we brought extra to crank it up over the weekend - the house and bedrooms are all as per the pictures and lovely Cons (to be fair and honest): - the sleep out door didn’t really shut properly but the owners sorted out a solution pretty swiftly, though we would have been in trouble if the wind hadn’t blown the door open to alert us to it. - the exhaust fan in the kitchen was broken - could do with one additional oil radiator heater as the sleep out had to rely on the reverse cycle which aren’t ideal for sleeping but that’s really nitpicking... Can’t really fault it more than that and we expect these kinds of things with old homes. If you’re thinking of kayaking - yeah it’s probably a bit too long a walk carrying a kayak to the water. Wifi was all good. Not much close by for food so roughly 10-15 min drive to cafes, etc. All in all, we’d go back to stay again in a heartbeat. The owners are great and the house is lovely and full of charm. The deck is a thing of beauty so maybe we’ll be back in the summer! I’d rate it 4.5 based on the couple of minor issues but that rounds up to 5, 4 would be a bit harsh.

Tranquil Retreat

This is a quiet, quirky rural property with Wallis Lake access that is full of old fashioned charm. It was a brilliant place to stay for a quiet family double birthday reconnect getaway that was close to home.

Family/dogs/jetskis-GOLD

Two families stayed, inluding two labradors and two jack Russell dogs. Laura has the place set up-magic country charm- if u like a Beer or wine to settle ur nerves/watch the dogs run around/nibblies platter as the sun settle -fire pit and the BBQ to finish/ - doesn’t get any better. Sounds like a novel!!! We launched our jet skis down the road-smashed up to the Forster for coffee, then out to sea to watch the whales, back in the river to s

Tranquil and relaxing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Katandra Homestead. The house was very comfortable with everything you need for a quite country getaway. The kitchen and living area was inviting and the fireplace created a lovely ambiance. The beds comfortable and north facing so a lovely winter sun every morning. The deck area has several places to sit and enjoy depending on the time of day. The outlook across the paddocks to the lake was beautiful. The beaches and townships are all very close with nice places to eat and get a morning coffee. A special anniversary was the purpose of our stay and a bottle of bubbly left in the fridge for us was very much appreciated. Would love to return and soak up the atmosphere again:)

Spectacular outlook and wildlife at your door

We have just spent a great family weekend at Katandra. The homestead is very well equipped and cosy. The outlook is amazing and we all enjoyed the variety of birdlife, deer, horses, cattle, flying foxes, micro bats and rabbits. Visits from the neighbours very friendly dogs and chooks were welcome and especially entertaining for our Granddaughter. A great place for a quiet getaway and we would happily return.

Wonderful place!

We all enjoyed our stay at Katandra,we loved the horses particularly Chase & Bella, the chickens and their eggs The lamb and also the Owl that came to visit at night in the tree! We caugh endenless amounts of blue swimmers and a huge mud crab plus off the boat bream,flathead and whitening they all tasted delicious!!!!!! The Homestead was amazingly well supplied We all felt sad to leave

my partner & I & our 4 pugs absolutely loved it at Katandra, so much to do or not to do & that's just on the property! plenty of activities left & right from the driveway all within a short distance, including swimming snorkelling boating, beaches, national parks, plenty of dog friendly parks & beaches, sightseeing, fishing, crabbing, great lakeside walking tracks, plenty of great places to shop & eat & drink, we kept ourselves thoroughly entertained both at Katandra & away to the point that both us & our mutts need a holiday from our holiday! The worst part about Katandra is that all good things come to an end & you must leave paradise to return to reality!

Over the years of researching & organising our dog friendly holidays, i have been interested in Katandra for a while, but the distance from the Gold Coast held me back, well i am glad i finally made the 650km journey down to Katandra Homestead @ Coomba Park, it was well worth the drive & exceeded all expectations. Amy was a pleasure to deal with, very professional & friendly & made the whole booking & holiday experience so easy. While there are plenty of dog friendly accommodation options around, few are truly dog friendly & alot dont allow 4 dogs inside aswell! The "Welcome Mat" for us was unbelievably surprising, we over packed, bringing alot of things we usually have to, but were already provided. The property was unbelievable, the house felt very homely & comfortable, it was great to get away from the hussle & bussle of city life & enjoy a farmlike stay with the cows & paddocks, the chickens & fresh eggs, the majestic fig trees that surround the house, all the nature & wildlife that come & go & not to mention Wallis Lake at the bottom of the paddocks with your own private jetty where you can fish & crab, or just relax overlooking the lake. Katandra is the perfect property where you can do as little as you like in prvacy & seclusion & enjoy the peace & quiet or you can explore the beautful waterways up to Forster & Tuncurry, swim fish & crab as much as you like from the property, go sightseeing all the other lakes close by, visit a different dog friendly beach everyday, plenty of places to swim & snorkel, great food & drink available everywhere if you dont want to cook your own catch of the day, what more can i say, i think i ve said enough, you get the idea, check it out for yourself you wont be disappointed!

We have just come back from a fantastic weekend at Katandra and we would highly recommend it! What an amazing homestead...from the adorable bedrooms to the open plan lounge, dining, kitchen which was fantastic for our family of 6 to the huge verandah with the day bed and tables and chairs where we spent most of our time relaxing and taking in the serenity! We took our boat (boat ramp a short drive into Coomba Park) and enjoyed our first time in Wallis Lake. The waterways were very quiet and although it was a very windy weekend there was plenty of water that wasn't to rough. We cruised into Foster and not only was overwhelmed with the beautiful green water and sandy islands, we had dolphins surrounding our boat. As you can see we love this place and could go on and on about all the amazing things that Katandra has to offer but why don't you go there your self so you to can have a memorable family weekend!

We stayed at Katandra Homestead for 7 nights to unwind and relax with our farm dog "Angus" a Kelpie cross on his first ever doggie holiday. We were greeted by a warm inviting log fire as we entered the house which was tastefully decorated with country style. We had to keep a close eye on our dog as there was a fence around the free range chickens that he could easily jump, but other than that he really enjoyed his holiday and being close to Cellito Beach (off leash dog beach, no hour restrictions, popular with local surfers). We will definitely come back again to recharge at this homely house! I took plenty of photos which i put on Flickr with a map marker

World class surfing beaches with varied aspects so you can always find one protected from the swell. The littoral rainforest board walk to Cellito's Beach is spectacular. Immediately south of the property is the Wallingat National Park which includes unique cabbage tree palm forests. The property is on Wallis Lake which offers fishing, boating and other watersports. You can boat to Forster, Coomba Park, Pacific Palms and up the Wallingat. Other lakes are Smith's Lake which has a fun sand bar entrance, and Myall Lake which both provide flat water fun. It's an area that has so much to do and see.
