About the property

2br/2ba Cabin On Old Rag With Waterfront Access To Ragged Run

Our modern cabin allows you to enjoy the natural beauty of the Shenandoah mountains with all of the conveniences of home but without all of the traffic. The property abuts SNP and Ragged Run, which is a rapidly flowing creek that flows year round and provides swimming holes and waterfalls. The cabin has 2BR/2BA, a cook's kitchen, and a comfortable living area. In addition to the indoor living area, a large screened in porch provides both living and dining areas for year round enjoyment of nature without the annoyance of mosquitoes. A 6 person hot tub soothes your aching muscles after your long hikes. For those who must remain connected, we offer both Direct TV and satellite Internet, which we find to be sufficient for most applications. With current model cell phones (Iphone 6 or higher and Android 7), you will be able to make and receive wi-fi enabled calls on your cell phone. We do offer a landline for backup.

Wonderful Cabin on the Mountain!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! We enjoyed the privacy and constant waterfall sound in the background. No road noise! Both platform beds were very comfortable and we slept like we never sleep at home. The proximity to the wineries was a plus and the country store just down the road was very handy. The hiking opportunities are unparalleled. We would love to come back again!

Perfect for hiking Old Rag and White Oak Canyon!

  • 5 of 5

Our hiking group stayed here over a 4 day period. The location is perfect for accessing the trail head to Old Rag as well as the White Oak Canyon. The cabin was clean, well organized, and well equipped with necessities. The hot tub was excellent at the end of a day of hiking and the view of the stars was icing on the cake! The only inconvenience was having to take our trash with us. Would love to have had instructions / options on where to dispose. Highly recommend and will possibly be back with my family if given the opportunity!

Perfect weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough how wonderful this cabin is. It is stocked with everything you need, with thoughtful extras like a French press, an aromatic selection of herbs/spices, a claw foot tub, split wood for the stove, and plenty of toiletries, lotions and potions. It is neatly tucked away, nestled up against SNP and Old Rag Mt, with a lovely winery less than 2 miles away. No need to go anywhere once you are here but the winery was so close we had to visit and glad we did. Wish the weather was a bit more conducive so that we could've enjoyed the Run and fire pit, but the hot tub was the piece de resistance for this visit. A charming little spot; we will definitely return!

Very Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

If this cabin is on your top 10 list, go ahead and make it the first choice. Cabin is located in a quiet location, very clean and comfortable. There was a lot of attention to detail involved with all amenities provided. The owner is very quick to reply to any questions you may have. Thank you for a very nice stay!

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We had a last minute get away here and it was wonderful. It felt like a luxury cabin in the woods. Details like recessed lighting in the kitchen, wood burning stove. Outdoor jacuzzi and bear claw tub. We had a challenging hike and came back to relax and sleep peacefully. So great. You can see stars out the bedroom window. We would definitely come back again.

Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

My family spent Christmas in this awesome cabin. The previous reviewers were spot on - the place was very well stocked. Unlike other places we have stayed, they had everything we needed, especially given that we cooked so many meals there. There was plenty of firewood (for inside and outside fire building) and the grounds were beautiful. The place is quite remote, which is what we were looking for, but there are places to buy food and essentials within 15 minutes. I would love to come back during the summer so we can take in some longer hikes in the surrounding trails.
