A newly renovated typical Classical New England house, with a bright and airy mid century modern interior and furnishings. Complete with new bathrooms, a complete fully euqipped kitchen with all utensils and electronics to bake and cook, with laundry, and fantastic bedroom comfort with the best beds in town (as per reviews and statements). Set on two acres with an outside deck overlooking picnic table and fire pit amid apple and maple trees. An additional 16 acres behind the house can be used for dog walking.
The charming village of Jefferson and Stamford, with farm restaurants, locally grown produce markets, hiking, antiquing, skiing, golfing, horseback riding, river rafting and caves close by.
We have left a large basket of information leaflets showing a multitude of activities throughout the year. We are very happy to speak or e mail area information to those with a confirmed booking.
Jefferson was the Queen of the Catskills, and still has the quaint charm of the Catskill mountains. This glorious area has vineyards and cider mills, farm visits and an opera season during the summer. The Baseball Hall of fame in Cooperstown and the famous Woodstock are close by and the area has many fine restaurants, boutiques and book stores.There is a world renown mountain biking center on the mountain trails on Windham Mountain. With farm shops, a good supermarket, gourmet smoked meats and a full wine and spirits store are within 6 miles make it easy to arrive, stock up and enjoy your country stay.
The best 3 restaurants are the Mill pond inn in Jefferson , and Mama Maria on 23 , (best garlic knots in USA) The Breakfast Club and Buck Hill farm serve delicious country breakfasts right in Jefferson.
Perfect environment to work remotely. The house is on a quiet road surrounded by open fields, woods and a lovely river. You can explore all day and away from the lights towns and cities the night sky is so full of stars, with shooting stars and fireflies, sit at night at the fire pit, roast marshmallows and relax!
3 hours drive from NYC. 25 minutes from Oneonta. 15 minutes from #Blenheim Hill Farm (Bleneim), 15 minutes from #Seven Ponds Farm (Summit), 10 minutes from #NYST racing track, 25 minutes from #Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame.
1 1/2 hour from Kingston, 1 hour from #Albany International Airport, with rental car options. There is also a direct bus service from New York City to Stamford-NY, ten minutes from the House. Local taxi services are available.

Great stay

Everything was great. Check in was simple and went as expected. Clean and neat, plenty of room, everything we needed, very comfortable beds in the house. There was a winter storm coming, so the property owner reached out to help us be prepared and to let us know he was nearby if we needed anything. Many beautiful views of the snow to enjoy from in the house, but we were also able to get out to visit our family nearby. We will be back.

A beautiful house & yard

We loved our long weekend at Isobella & Pierre's house. It has a big, peaceful yard that we, especially our dog, enjoyed! The house has a lot of different living spaces which is nice especially if you're sharing the house with another couple or family. Isobella gave us recommendations for places to eat which was helpful and I wanted to pass them on as they were all fantastic: Mill Pond Inn, Bull and Garland (we ate outside in their beautiful beer garden), and Buck Hill Farms (for breakfast on the weekends).

Jefferson fun

We came to this home for a winter weekend away. The home is very charming and comfortable! We enjoyed the sauna and back yard for our two dogs! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Millspond Restaurant is good for dinner. Oneonta is 25 minutes away. We took our daughter roller skating there! The host was very kind and communication was great. Highly recommend!

Great Charming home. Very clean.

Beautiful home. Very clean. Great host and owner. Home only has 1.5 bathrooms but other than that it’s great. Kitchen is very nice and has every amenity you will need. The Master bedroom is very cozy and nice. Only has Room ACs in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. My son was playing baseball at All star village and the drive was 30 minutes but it was a nice drive. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the home. Wish we could have used more of it. We didn’t use the yard or Sauna. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful house in the peaceful quiet

This property is wonderfully furnished and well equipped. The house is very cozy, and the space is terrific. The sauna was a nice plus to have as well and kids enjoyed it. We love the area and it is a short walk to a beautiful farm land with paths to walk on or bike. Owner was great about communication and we would love to stay there again. Highly recommended.

Very pleasant house in a quiet location

Very nice house. Probably the best stocked kitchen I have seen in a rental. Every pot, pan, dish, glass, appliance you could possibly want is provided. The house is situated on a large, spacious yard which was perfect for our dogs. Also, has a nice deck overlooking the yard. This is an ideal place for a quiet getaway. It is very likely I will look to rent it again next year.

nature at its best! Nestled between Jefferson and Stamford , Harpersfield is a quiet historical hamlet where nature has a prime space. The farm lifestyle is prevalent and follows the rythm of the seasons. Each time of the years bring a different feel and activities. Summer is the busiest: All the animals are in the pastures and the fields are full of tractors and crops to prepare for the winter. Farm to table restaurants are thriving and you will taste the freshest vegetables . Fall is magnificent with the foliage and the animals preparing for winter and gathering food. Winter sees skiing at Hunter or Wyndham and snowshoeing activities and cross country skiing and snowmobiling , the sights are spectacular and the snow remains white for weeks (not in NYC!). Spring sees the return of birds and migrating species looking for food and getting ready to start their families. the flowers and green trees come back to life and rejuvenate the air. The properties have land and bonfires and picnics are just fantastic!
The animals roam free in the backyards and add to the picturesque settings.

This house has a wonderful backyard and very few NICE neighbors.
Great feeling in the house with lots of art on the walls and warmth in the winter with a fabulous wood stove. The open layout makes it very convivial and relaxing, you can rest and read in the library or just enjoy a fabulous cooking butcher block.
