Escape to a lakeside retreat only 10 minutes from I-65 Exit 305 on Smith Lake in Cullman, Alabama. Relax with your friends and family on the deck while watching your favorite sport on the 70'' flat screen television through the open garage door or with the screens in place. Or watch the sunset from the observation deck above the swim pier.



This unique commercially designed home includes two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The home can sleep one to six comfortably. The home features an open and large family room, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is equipped with stainless appliances, granite countertops and with ice/water dispenser in the refrigerator. The home has been professionally decorated by an interior designer.



The home features two large insulated glass garage doors that can be opened for open-air and screens that remotely lower to create a completely screened-in porch for the entire home.



The home is located within five minutes of Smith Lake Park, with free boat launch and is directly across from Smith Lake Marina.


Now Offering! An optional 2018 SouthBay pontoon boat rental for guests of Grace's Retreat and Little's on the Lake. (Available Seasonally)


If your date is already booked, please check out our other property - Little's on the Lake. The house is located 100 feet from Grace's Retreat and can be rented with Grace's Retreat to accommodate up to 18 people or separately for 10-12 guests. Great Lake location

We enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful and comfortable. It was very easy to get to from the interstate and close to the public park beach. We recommend!

Great place for get away

Visited in February, clean house, very responsive host, good location to visit Northern Alabama. Would certainly consider again, if we find ourselves in Alabama again.

Great Place

Check-in and out was a breeze and communication was AMAZING! The place was very nice and exactly what you see in the photos. We were provided so much information about the area for shopping and eating and found it super helpful. While we only stayed for a weekend, the place was stocked with everything you would need for a longer stay. The owners truly thought of everything! Beds were comfortable and seating was plentiful. This place is already on my list for another getaway.

Grace's Retreat met all our expectations. Our host communicated with use before and during our stay. Check-in was as simple as a text message and email. The layout is perfect for a weekend or month at the lake, with two King Suites that are clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals, with spacious dining inside or on the deck overlooking the lake. There is a paved road that is fairly steep from the house down to the steps that lead to the dock. We walked the short roadway down and up several times a day to fish from the dock (we are both in our Sr years) and were a little winded, but we had fun. We managed to catch loads of Orange speckled Sunfish, Bluegills, Bass and a 4 pounds Catfish. So, bring your tackle and fish the back of the dock at dawn and dusk.We highly recommend Grace's Retreat.

Name says it all!

Rented the house for a family cookout and birthday celebration. It was everything we could hope for. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed. Very short trip to the nearest stores which definitely came in handy a few times. The name describes it perfectly, it truly is a RETREAT!

Late Summer Getaway

The house is perfect! Great location close to boat rental, groceries and gas. The lake is magical! Clear beautiful water! We are in love! The weather was cool when we were there so we got to raise the garage door while we cooked breakfast one morning. Such a COOL amenity! It’s perfectly furnished, super clean, just a great place for a couple like us or a small group of friends! There is plenty of privacy. We plan on renting here again!

Unique property

Well appointed unique property with functioning glass garage doors for door walls to patio. Property owners easy to communicate with and responsive. Not uncommon with lake properties, there is a steep walk to stairs leading to dock that may be challenging for those with mobility issues. Reasonable check out process. Would recommend location and would stay again at this location.

House Great / Deck Sketchy

Lake House is unique and beautiful. Wonderfully stocked with a gorgeous view. But the decking is starting to show its age. It’s a very steep, downhill incline to the pier and water…so be prepared! You will need to be able to handle the going up and down climb from house to pier . There is a half way point with a landing that has 4 chairs to sit and take in the view, but the wood is rotting and one of our guest had their foot/calf go thru and make a big hole. The pier also has some rotting wood that we placed our tackle boxes and coolers over, so that we didn’t fall thru and make another hole in the deck. Once those issues are addressed, it’s a safe place to hangout.

Peaceful getaway!

Our family of 4 had the best time at Grace’s Retreat. We rented the boat for a day and enjoyed spending a day on the lake. The water was low, so we didn’t get to tube or ski, but it was nice to just cruise around and sight-see. The house was a great place for us to hang out, play games, cook,… There was ample supply of things we would need in the kitchen and throughout. We loved opening the garage door to feel the breeze and also enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the mornings and evenings. There is a beautiful view. All of the furnishings were so nice and comfortable. We were excited to see that there were 2 king bedrooms, both of which could be used as master’s. This was our first time at Smith Lake and we were unaware of the steep walk there is getting to the dock, this time of year especially. However, the house itself made up for any discomforts (me and my husband) may have had and my son had no trouble running up and down to fish all day. All in all, we had a wonderful time. It was so nice and peaceful. We loved the house so much and would definitely stay again.

Perfect for proximity to Cullman

This is a wonderful property with great lake views andthe perfect decor for the lake. I brought my 98 yr oldmother and daughter to bring my mom back to Cullman,her hometown for over 60 years. Perfect spot for us.This is the third time for us here.

We purchased Grace's Retreat in 2007. The house is named for our grandmother who passed away in 2008. More than anything she loved having her family together. This house brings family and friends together throughout the year.
