Everything was great! The house was big and spacious with a lot of room. Even with people walking around and talking the house is very quiet. It’s a short walk & drive from the beach. The provided parking passes were so useful! The neighborhood felt very safe. I went for 6am morning runs everyday. Lots of deer walking around! Would def book again

Lovely stay & responsive Host

We had a lovely stay at the Tides Inn. The location was excellent -- tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, a short drive from downtown Duck and very close to a lovely beach access point (we found the Hillcrest parking area to be very convenient with very nice facilities) and the sound. The home was as described -- very comfortable, AC worked great, clean, nice kitchen. The hot tub and outdoor shower were excellent. The host was very responsive and replied quickly to messages. We highly recommend a stay in this home!

Relaxing getaway in Southern Shores

We enjoyed spending our vacation at the Tides Inn! It had all of the wonderful amenities we could ask for and more. We spent time in the hot tub, biked to the beach and all of the local shops, and to the marina to watch the beautiful sunset. The surrounding trees and woods provided solitude on the back deck where we spent several moonlit nights. Thank you for letting us spend our vacation at your beautiful home!

Making Memories at Tides Inn

Tides Inn was perfect for our 2 family vacation! The teens loved the ability to go to and from the beach on foot themselves and the parents felt safe enough to allow it. We loved the property and closeness to the beach access and are already making plans to return! Beautiful and fun memories to last a lifetime! Thank You!

Dennis and I both grew up in Bucks County, Pa. We both went to the same high school, began dating, and fell in love. We spent every summer with our toes in the sand and knew one day we would purchase a home in the Outer Banks. Last year we did that and built our home in Southern Shores. We enjoy spending time with family and friends.

We fell in love with Southern Shores the very first time we vacationed there. Nothing had ever felt so right, so we closed our eyes and purchased a lot after a couple years of vacationing in the Outer Banks!! We are blessed to have the opportunity to share our home with others the way someone once opened their door and allowed us to be a guest at their beautiful beach house.

Southern Shores offers an amazing beach access parking area at Hillcrest Drive, (right around the corner from Tides Inn), which includes an ocean-front viewing platform with two showers, a pergola over the showers, updated bathrooms and a volleyball court. Nearby is the Sea Oats Park (corner of Sea Oats and Hickory) newly renovated play ground area, a basketball court, soccer field and exercise stations. Three "Little Free Libraries" have been installed and are located at E. Dogwood, Triangle Park and Chicahauk.

Key-less Entry
Free life guard provided at our beach-(Hillcrest Beach)
Access ramp to Hillcrest Beach
Several Beach parking lots (2 parking passes provided) Playground with basketball and soccer areas
Marinas
Boat ramp access
All four bedrooms have their own TV with DVD players
Free Linens for each bed

Tides Inn has an electronic key-less entry lock. The Tenant will be provided a lock code in a welcome package prior to the check-in date. The lock code will be good for the term of the VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT. As a reminder, we do provide bed linens for each bed. We also provide a hand towel and wash cloth for each guest. We do not provide beach towels or bath towels. Check-in time is 4PM on the beginning date of your reservation. While we can’t guarantee an early check-in, every effort will be made to get the property ready as early as possible. Tenant can request a text message indicating that the property is ready for them, in case the property is available earlier than 4PM.

This house (and surrounding property) is a true vacation home. It is secluded and peaceful, all the while being in a busy beach town. In fact, it’s a fun stroll to the beach! You pass a turtle pond via the walking/biking paths on your way, and the kids enjoy a nature stroll.
