We rent our cottage from Friday to Friday for your convenience...beat the traffic and enjoy the entire weekend on the best beaches in the world! Saturday's are the busiest check-in and travel days on the Outer Banks and you shouldn't spend it in traffic!

Our cottage is a 3 bedroom 2 full bath classic, clean & updated beach cottage with everything you need to enjoy your week. Only a short walk (Under 350 yards) to the beach or plenty of parking if you prefer to drive down with your vehicle. Large Sun Deck for private sunbathing if that's your thing, Screened Porch with Captain's Chairs for relaxing & Outside Shower because that's a MUST at the beach! Fully equipped Kitchen and recently renovated Bathrooms, Cable, HDTV, WiFi, DVD Player or bring your favorite streaming device with easy access HDMI ports.
3 Bedrooms have 2 Queens & 1 Full over Full Twin Bunk Set...also an air mattress if needed!
Sheets, Towels & all other linens are NOT provided!

Lovely Beach Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at the Glen’s beach cottage. It was a short walk to the beach, impeccably clean and stocked with all the essentials we needed. Glen was incredibly helpful and responsive, making our experience even more enjoyable.

Great location

This property was a short walk from the beach. The house was comfortable and toddler friendly. This was important because the weather wasn’t always great when we were there so it was nice to be able to relax in comfort at the house.

We have stayed here many times over 25 years.It is always a pleasant experience. It is in a great location with a beach access road. For families with children it is great because the lifeguard stand is right there.

Great location

Excellent stay! Can’t say enough about the location, we opted to drive the one block a few days to the public parking and walked some too, very quick walk. Accommodations were just as explained. Clean with lots of kitchen items. Definitely would go back!

Reboot

The owners, the property & the location were wonderful. No complaints. Our family is from the Gulf Coast of Tx but we've lived in TN a few yrs now & just needed some sand & salty waves again. OBX is full of so much history! We enjoyed every moment!! If you're not familiar with their beaches, take their advice even with your 4x4 vehicle- deflate your tires to 15lbs, pack boards & a shovel just in case. This technique works ;)

Unplanned vacation

My boyfriend and I decided last minute we needed a get away to the Outer Banks for the 4th of July before I started my new job. I wasn't sure if I could find anything. I did! This little beach house a block away from the beach was perfect! We had everything we needed excepted toiletries and food of course. It was nice and quiet and we felt right at home, but right next to the ocean! Thanks again!

Birthday-cation 2015

We had an awesome time at KDH for our annual Birthday-cation. The home was welcoming, there was plenty of space for all. Having a nice size kitchen for vacation was especially enjoyable. Sunsets from the porch were a plus, the short distance to the beach was especially enjoyable for all. The swings under the porch were a hit for all the kids, young and old. The outdoor shower was spacious enough my 14 year old son chose to shower there all the time. Thank you again for allowing us to share in your home. I highly recommend. I will stay again.

The Place To Be

We rented this home without knowing much about the location. It turns out we did a fantastic job of picking a place, because this house was simply perfect for our family of 4. It is a very short walk to the beach (without crossing any major roads). Also, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and also ice cream and a bakery. With just a short drive you can get to pretty much any amenity including several grocery stores and fishing spots. The house itself is well maintained with a really nice outdoor shower, laundry and central air. The kids loved the tv and wi fi when it rained. The owner (Glen) is a very responsive host and was incredibly easy to communicate with. We will certainly be staying here again in the future.

Nice stay overall

Instructions for check in were easy to follow. House is well stocked with matching dinnerware and silverware that made it feel like home and not a rental. Location was nice and close enough to walk to the beach. Just a few things to keep in mind. The wifi router is located in the back bedroom so the internet connection in the living room is spotty. The closet in the same bedroom has a strong musty odor so I did not hang up anything in there. I didn’t have a lot to hang so wasn’t a big deal. The bedroom with the bunk beds got a little hot with the door closed because maybe the beds are covering the vent. These were minor things and did not impact our vacation or stay!

Good Experience

Cottage was clean upon arrival. Check in/out process was seamless. Location, though not directly on the beach, is still very convenient. Would recommend, and stay again.

Outstanding location and property

Property was clean and was able to check in early. Glenn will communicate with you the morning of and give you comps to the lock box. House is 2 blocks from the sand and plenty of parking in the public lot if needed. I’d rent again.

Perfect week in OBX

We were in town for a family wedding - thought it would be just the two of us. We ended up with a houseful our first night there, as other family members couldn’t get into their rental until Saturday (love the Friday to Friday - much less traffic!). They all peeled out the next day. The living room /dining area is great space . The kitchen was well equipped, and the screened in front porch a great place to have coffee or wine. The bedrooms are small but adequate. Two easy blocks from the public beach access (which had showers), and close to groceries, restaurants, and shopping. Glen was responsive and easy to deal with. Thanks!

Family Vacation

The cottage is in a great location! Close to the beach, stores, restaurants etc within walking distance. Place was clean and very nice. Super easy to check in and check out. Property owner was great to communicate with and fast response to any questions! If you are looking for a nice relaxing getaway with the family, this is your place!! Definitely will be back and would recommend!

Had a great experience staying here

Beach is two blocks away and is a 5 minute walk to the beach.The home was well kept and the kitchen was fully stacked.We never had issue communicating with the owner, and the owner was very accomodating as well.It is pretty close to many local restaurants as well.I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a vacation home rental in kill devil hills.

Family Time

Thank you for a great week! The best part was being able to walk to the beach easily every day! We also loved the location and convenience of having so many restaurants for take out and grocery stores nearby. We cooked a lot, and were pleased with so many cooking utensils- really anything you could think of needing. Our family of four and a Nana we haven’t seen in a year were very comfortable and happy to spend time together. We would look at returning due to location if ever in the area again. Thanks!

Super convenient

On the deck lool to your left, see the ocean just a couple of blocks away. Look to the right between a few houses, you see the Wright Brothers Monument. Very convenient location for seeing all of the OBX sights. Home is older but had everything our family needed for an enjoyable spring break.

Great location

This was a last minute trip for us to the OBX. The location was great, only two blocks from the beach, and on a quiet street. Communication with the owner was great, and we only needed to text them once during our stay.

Mine & my Brother's family bought our beach cottage when it came available in 1998. It sits next door to our Parent's beach cottage where we spent numerous amazing vacations and extended weekends.

We love this cottage because its close to everything you need to enjoy a week on the Outer Banks...centrally located it is within a short walk to the beach, short bike ride to the Wright Brothers Memorial or all within a few miles to the most amazing lighthouses on the East Coast!
