Overview

About the property

Villa, 2 Bedrooms + Sleeping Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Come and visit an old fashioned beach community, similar to what you knew as a child. Sunbathe on the beautiful, quiet beaches; hunt for shells and shark teeth while you walk along the shore. Play a round of golf; catch up on your tennis. Bring home your own freshly caught dinner when you fish along the surf. Or crab or shrimp in the island's back marshes. Our villa is located on the golf course of Ocean Ridge Resort, on Edisto Island.

This spacious unit has two bedrooms and an open sleeping loft. With two queen-size beds and two singles, it will sleep a total of six guests. There are two bathrooms - including a master bathroom with a whirlpool tub. Special features include ceiling fans in every room, vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, and a screened porch with a great view of the golf course.

PLEASE NOTE---This is a PET FREE rental due to very bad asthma and pet allergies throughout our family! Thank you for your understanding and please do not ask us to make exceptions. Thanks in advance.

We are also a SMOKE FREE rental. Please do not smoke in the house or on the screened porch. Smoking is very bad for people with asthma also.

We have a fully stocked kitchen. I do a lot of cooking, so just about anything you can find in my kitchen, you can find in our vacation home kitchen.

I include the most up to date house inventory list as part of the information packet that I send to each potential guest.

Some staples are in the kitchen, like spices, salt and pepper. Also sandwich bags, aluminum foil and plastic wrap at the beginning of the season. There is usually DW detergent under the sink too

There is room for at least 2 cars in the carport directly underneath the house.

Located under the house to the right side of the carport, there is a picnic table and old fashioned swing and the out door totally enclosed shower.

About Roseann Mazzola

We live in Coatesville, PA and have been visiting the beaches of South Carolina since 1988. In 1995 we stumbled upon Edisto Beach when we exchanged our time share week in Williamsburg, VA for a week at Edisto Beach. At first we weren't quite sure what to make of this quiet, sleepy little beach town that had no exit sign off I95, no signage anywhere in Walterboro (that we came across). Before the end of our first visit we knew that we wanted to come back. We had grown up going to the New Jersey shores of Wildwood and Seaside Heights that had boardwalks and amusement piers. We had spent several years going to Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach where you can find similar entertainment and TRAFFIC AND CROWDS, but here in Edisto Beach, there was no TRAFFIC, no CROWDS, no AMUSEMENT PIERS or boardwalks and we loved it! We loved the peace, the tranquility and the beauty. So within 5 years of visiting the Island, we decided to buy a place, which is saying a lot since we have spent a lot more time at other, closer beaches. The only drawback that we have found with the island is that it is 11 1/2 hours away from our home which limits our number of visits every year. If only we could move SC about 7 hours closer to Coatesville, life would be even better!!! :-)

Roseann Mazzola purchased this villa in 2000

Notes:
We have a unique digital lock on our front door. I generate a code for the length of each of our guest's stay. It goes into effect in the afternoon on the day of your check-in and expires the morning of your check-out. When you get there, you can change the code to any 6 digit code that is easy for you and your family to remember, like a birthday or anniversary. It is so nice not to have to worry about having keys every time you go in and out of the house or stopping at the realtor's to pick them up, especially if you plan on arriving late in the day.

edisto getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time for our family at this duplex and just as the first time, we had a wonderful vacation. I like the fact that if you want to get active you have plenty of choices yet it is also the ideal place to relax. The beaches are close by, we really enjoyed botany bay, the local restaurants serve delicious fish and the putt putt was a daily source of family fun.

Nice, clean, comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

Had a nice stay at this house.

House was clean and everything was in good condition. Kitchen had everything we needed. Wi-fi worked great.

Beaches are quite close with multiple access points - both car or bike work fine. Outside shower was nice to keep sand away from the house. Grounds around property are very well maintained. Mosquitoes could be quite vicious at dusk so use enclosed porch.

This is an island and is indeed a bit isolated. But there is a decent (a bit pricey) grocery store and restaurants.

Owner's Response: Michail and family....so glad to hear that you all enjoyed your stay and that you found everything in the house (and outside the house) that you needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay. And...we are very fortunate on Edisto Beach to have so many beach accesses so close by and with small parking lots for all to use. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to having you visit again sometime in the future!

Comfortable, clean,well equipped ,relaxing home

  • 5 of 5

This rental home met and exceeded our expectations for a family vacation. Loved sitting on the porch , watching the golfers and listening to the birds . The location was perfect , we played golf, rode the bicycles at the villa and did a kayak tour at the nearby Edisto watersports.

Owner's Response: Janene, So glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay at our vacation home. Relaxing (or even eating a meal) on the screened porch shaded by the big old Live Oak and the palm trees while watching the golfers or the comical squirrels and listening to the birds is just one of the tranquil perks when visiting Edisto Beach. Of course going to the beach, playing golf, kayaking, shelling, and watching glorious sunsets at the Point are pretty high on the list too. We look forward to having you and your family back again in the very near future! Ray and Roseann

Lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

House was very nice & well stocked with everything we needed. It was our 1st time in SC & we came from IL so I was worried about what to bring, what not to bring. Decided to pack lighter & worked out perfect because the house had what we needed. Only wished it was closer to the beach...otherwise I would definitely recommend the house to anyone.

Owner's Response: Celinda, So nice to hear that you and your family really enjoyed your stay at our house and on the island. We try our best to make all of our guests’ vacation prep time as easy and stress less as possible. That’s why we provide the beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys and bikes. We certainly would like to be a little closer to the beach side of the resort but with no traffic or traffic lights on the entire island and plenty free parking lots at almost every beach access, the 5 min drive to the beach is a cinch. Enjoy the rest of your summer and next time you come back to SC, we look forward to hearing from you! Ray and Roseann

Comfortable and conveniently located.

  • 4 of 5

This property was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. A bike ride to the beach. The bike trail through the center island was amazing. Having the bikes available at the house was a treat. Enjoyed using the pool and putt putt with our grandchildren, but it was $200 extra for the week. We were able to walk 15 minutes to a fishing spot. Didn't mind taking my own linens, but who knew you'd need to take bath mats? Beds were comfortable. The large fry pan needs replacing, as it's very warped on the bottom making it difficult to cook evenly. Otherwise, there were plenty of dishes and cookware. Enjoyed the screened porch overlooking the golf course. Love this island's family vibe, without the usual crowds you see at other beaches.

Owner's Response: Trish and family, Happy to hear that you all enjoyed staying at our house for you summer vacation this year. The family atmosphere and lack of large crowds, at any time of the year, is a big part of what we love about Edisto. The laid back and relaxing pace of the island and no traffic jams, anywhere, is pretty darn nice too! We, with our cleaning and maintenance people try our best to keep it clean and in shape for all of our guests. Thank you for letting me know about the frying pan. It was replaced with a new T-Fal pan about 2 weeks ago and there is always a bath mat in the master bathroom vanity in case someone needs one when taking a shower in the jetted tub. It was on the left side the vanity, opposite the first aid kit. The cleaning people did check on that and it's still there. Sorry you missed it. Unfortunately, Wyndham, not me, does charge for all non-timeshare guests to use their resort amenities. I have no control over that. That weekly fee is for all resort amenities ( should you choose to use them), not just the 3 pools and putt-putt, it also includes the tennis courts, the basketball half courts, the tram that goes back and forth to the beach, the weight room, the playground and the use of the cabana at the beach which includes bathrooms, outdoor shower, picnic area, lounge chairs, beach volley ball court and a snack grill. Enjoy the rest of your summer! Ray and Roseann

Edisto Honeymoon!

  • 5 of 5

This rental was excellent! Very clean & well stocked. Perfect for our honeymoon. ...the beach was not crowded, weather was mostly cooperative, and there was just enough to do.

A quick trip to Charleston was also enjoyable.

We would highly recommend!
