Welcome to the Hen House at Canaan Valley.
Step in the door to top of the line everything . Newly constructed home with heated barn wood style tile floors throughout the house.
Enjoy the two sided fireplace from the Living Room or the huge Master Wing.
The Master Bath boasts a spa quality bathroom complete with a claw foot tub and a steam shower.
There is a 4 zone split level heat and Air Conditioning unit to make sure everyone is comfortable.
Cook an amazing meal on the commercial Bluestar range and utilize the two dishwashers to clean up the mess.
The possibilities are endless before even stepping out onto the picture perfect grounds.
There are over 40 acres of wooded hiking trails. The Hen House is close to everything. West Asheville is an easy 10 minute drive and downtown is only 15 minutes away.
Canaan Valley is run and managed by the owners. We live on the Farm and are always available if needed, but hardly noticed if not.
The Mane House (property #1317530) sleeps 16 and is available for rent with or separately from the Hen House.

Outstanding property

Where do I begin, LOCATION just 15-20 mins from airport , everything within distance. The Hen house it’s absolutely one of my favorites. The peace and comfort that this property gives is all I needed to unwind.The house decor is absolutely warm and cozy. Beds are so comfortable. Kitchen is a dream we had everything we needed and then some! We are already planning our next visit, we are so in love with The Hen house!!

Great family stay

Beautiful place to stay while exploring Asheville . Top notch house the kitchen is beautiful as are the bathrooms. We were disappointed with the neighbors woodworking shed next door it kind of masked the beauty a little. The pond was great fun for my boys. The animal experience was cute but a little disappointing because we expected a trail ride and only got a individual hand walked ride around the pond. Not worth it. Overall its a really nice place to stay, the trails are nice to walk, animals are cute . Fresh eggs to purchase everyday. Very nice and reasonlbly priced. I would definately recommend.

Great home base for visiting Asheville area!

We loved staying at the Hen House and enjoyed the beautiful animals, pond and farm setting. Very accessible to downtown/river arts/west Asheville. We enjoyed a wonderful family getaway!

The Hen House at Canaan Valley is an absolutely stunning rental property that provides a luxurious and comfortable living experience. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted with top-of-the-line everything, from the heated barn wood style tile floors to the two-sided fireplace that can be enjoyed from both the living room and the master wing. The attention to detail in the construction of this newly-built home is truly impressive. The highlight of the Hen House is undoubtedly the master bathroom, which boasts a spa-quality bathroom complete with a claw foot tub and a steam shower. This is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a long day of hiking or exploring downtown Asheville. The 4 zone split level heat and air conditioning unit ensures that everyone in your party is comfortable and able to adjust the temperature to their liking. The kitchen is a chef's dream, featuring a commercial Bluestar range and two dishwashers to make cleanup a breeze. The picture-perfect grounds are just as impressive as the interior, with over 40 acres of wooded hiking trails and a stocked pond. Fantastic Escape

Property was fantastic. We used as an escape from Atlanta for Xmas. Close enough to down town Asheville to take advantage of all the attractions but far enough away to feel quiet and peaceful. Thank you Dan for a fantastic stay

Family Christmas

Lovely home and property. We were very comfortable. Stunning mountain view. Enjoyed hiking the trails. Very convenient to the River Arts District and grocery store. Just what we were looking for!

Short stay

The house was very nice! The stream shower and heated floors were great! Although, we were disappointed that we could not see the pond from the house. The beautiful horses in the pictures described in the ad, we did not see. We saw a barn with a dirt lot, a small pony and donkey. Seen two workers in the morning that we're not friendly, maybe there just not morning people. Note: take pictures before and after we had an incident we could not prove.

Loved our stay. better than advertised

Great place to stay when visiting Asheville, Close enough in proximity however if you prefer to stay in a natural setting this was tops. The steam shower was amazing. Kitchen was great. quiet and peaceful. NIce way to unwind.

Peaceful & Beautiful

I can't say enough good things about this property. The house was clean, spacious and very homey. The property was beyond beautiful and a real get-away for us city folks. We did not want to leave! The owners were a pleasure and assisted quickly with an internet/TV issue. We schedule our daughter's to spend time with the horses in the barn and we were all thrilled by the experience. Easy 5 stars all the way around. We've decided to make this a yearly trip and can't wait to stay again.

Great farm stay

Quiet farm located in close proximity to Asheville. We loved the pond area and the horses and donkey on site. Good communication with owner, easy check in and out. Very nice property with lots of extras.

Loved this property and the experience of staying!

It’s not often that you can find a place where your 4 kids and husband are fully content! We were able to hit some fun trails for a run workout, canoe, hike, ride horses and spend some time at the on-site Speakeasy. The Hen-house was perfect for our family of 6 and there’s no doubt we will be back to sit again in the pond-side swings and watch the geese/ducks enjoy their private oasis.

One of the many great things about Canaan Valley Farm is our location. We are a 55 acre paradise located only 10 minutes from West Asheville. We are also very easily accessed. There are no crazy roads and hairpin turns. The road is paved right to the front door. A Lyft XL will take you downtown for $15. No other property can match our amenities and convenience.
