Kookaburra Beach House has recently had a stylish makeover!!
The apartment has been updated and stylised into a warm and striking beachside apt.


The large, fully self-contained two-bedroom Art Deco apartment is in the perfect location. It is situated on the 1st floor of our grand 1920s Coogee residence with its original features and is only a 5-minute walk to the beach, shops and cafes.
The apartment is perfect for couples, working professionals and families with teenage children.
It also has high ornate ceilings, timber oak herringbone flooring, a modern mosaic bathroom, a large eat-in kitchen, a separate sun-drenched office, and fully air-conditioned bedrooms.


The stairs from the main bedroom lead down to a lush landscaped tropical garden with outdoor dining, lounge and shower.

We, the owners, live on the ground floor of the building and are always available if needed.

Please note that we have a large, friendly, “handsome” dog who lives with us and frequents the garden.

It is a large stylish two-bedroom apt with a lush tropical garden downstairs.

Guest Access
The Sun drenched terrace with dining table is on the downstairs mezzanine level. The landscaped tropical garden downstairs is a shared space with our family and dog and offers perfect outdoor living additions to the apartment.


Interaction with Guests
We like to welcome our guests and be on call as we reside in the same building on the ground floor.


The Neighbourhood
Coogee is a dream location. It has a village atmosphere, and we love it, trees, ocean and ocean baths.
Getting around is easy with plenty of public transport.


Other Things to Note
Kookaburra Beach House is a warm and friendly family atmosphere; it offers privacy and independence within a lovely family home. Guests feel at ease knowing that we live within the same building and are on call for their needs.
The apt is on the top floor, so there are stairs - approximately 35 in total from street level, so not suitable for persons who have mobility or health problems.

We have a friendly family dog who lives on the premises...

Perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous Coogee apartment. It was very comfortable, lovely interior with great attention to detail with all the amenities you need. The location was perfect within walking distance to access the beach and fabulous cafes and restaurants. A wonderful time.

Right near the beach and cafes

The unit was beautifully appointed, although access was limited by lack of parking onsite or even in the street. Beds especially were comfy. The location relative to the beach, cafes and shops was good, with just a short walk. Buses were handy too. Great for a Sydney beach holiday.

Absolutely fantastic!

We were two adults and three children visiting from Ireland for a family wedding. A beautiful, tasteful and comfortable oasis of calm right in the heart of Coogee. nothing was too much trouble for our hosts And their attention to detail was fantastic. Everything we needed was provided. My parents in law stayed in the amazing Garden Room downstairs and we all enjoyed the garden and communal areas. I would highly recommend it and would love to think we would return. If there was a small negative it would be the traffic noise at the front of the house - but to be honest - all the positives outweighed this small niggle. Thank you Tracy and Dejan for helping to make our trip so memorable.

Amazing Place

We had a wonderful stay at this house in Coogie. Perfect location. Close to beach, shopping, restaurants etc. We took one bus to get to downtown Sydney and back. Remember to buy the Opal card. Can pick up at any convenience store. We put in 40.00 and we used it for the week we were there. This card can be used for local buses, trains and ferries. Maximum a day used is 15.00 which was great. The house was roomy and beautiful. Loved Tracey's taste for the decor. The outside backyard was beautiful too! Thanks to Tracey's husband Deyan and their sons for creating a beautiful backyard. Enjoyed spending time in their backyard with a shower to use too cool off. Lastly, Tracey and Deyan were a wonderful couple. They made our stay memorable. Thank you Tracey and Deyan!!!!! Lynn/Mike Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Home away from home

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely Coogee beach house. It felt like we were in our own home. We slept well after big day outs of siteseeing. We loved having the beautiful windows & white shutters open all day & night to experience the devine coastal breezes. Our gorgeous hosts Tracy & Deyan were extremely hospitable & so warm & welcoming just very beautiful people. It's very easy to get around with the buses nearby, and the city is not too far away. There are great cafes nearby and of course a great walk to Bondi. I've stayed in many places in Sydney over the years and I rate this very highly. The decor is simply stunning, adored the waterfall feel of the shower & the blue glass tiles made you feel like you were in the Mediterranean. Lots of love & passion has gone into every room & loved using the Laguiole cutlery. We can't wait to return to Kookaburra Beach House to live it up again! xxxooo

Lovely holiday accommodation

We are a family of 4 with two kids ages 10 and 12. We had a fabulous stay. The owner was very accommodating and we took full advantage of the lovely garden in back every afternoon. Kitchen was filled with new everything and the sheets were very high cotton count, comfortable and luxurious. There are quite a few steep steps to reach the front door but we viewed it as good exercise. Might be a problem for those with a disability, prams or toddlers. Overall a great experience!

Lovely, homely feeling

We spent 5 nights in this lovely self-catering accommodation. The venue had a lovely homely feeling, with nice touches like a little study with books to browse through, as well as DVD's to watch if you're having a quiet night in. The kitchen was well stocked in terms of the necessaries to cook a simple meal, and there are also laundry facilities. The location is excellent, being 5 minutes walk from the beach, as well as many restaurants and coffee shops.

Wonderful apartment, great location

We stayed at Kookaburra Beach House for 3 nights last week and highly recommend it. Our hosts were very helpful, communicative, welcoming and respectful of our privacy. It was clear that they take pride in their property and the service they provide. The apartment is spotlessly clean, stylishly renovated / decorated and has everything you could need. We loved the authentic art-deco charm that modern buildings just can't match. It was very safe for our 5 year old although being on the top floor, younger children who are climbers would need parental supervision to avoid any open windows (there are no screens) and note that the stairs to the apartment are narrow and steep (not great for the very young or very old or infirm but absolutely fine for everyone else!). Guests can use the front patio or backyard which are both beautifully maintained and furnished for entertaining. Other thoughtful touches included portable heaters to keep the place nice and cosy on cold nights and ample bed linen/doonas etc. The location is superb - it's a 5 minute walk to the beach, with loads of shops and cafes on the same street and easy access to the bus to the city which is a very pleasant trip. Coogee is under the flight path for Sydney airport (I think this depends on the wind and which runway is being used) and during our stay, there were brief periods each evening of planes flying overhead which did not detract from our wonderful stay, but it did take us by surprise. Overall, this is a lovely apartment which we would love to return to during warmer months to make the most of the great beach.

Great Apartment for Holiday!

We (me, my partner and 2 kids) stayed at Kookaburra beach house and had an amazing time! The location is perfect, very close to shops and beach (everything you need is within walking distance) ! The apartment was very clean, warm, welcoming and had a great vibe to it.... and contained everything for a relaxing and memorable holiday experience. Tracey the host even helped out with a few special requests/surprises as it was my partners birthday whilst we stayed. We would highly recommend this to anybody considering staying in Coogee and would love to return someday and stay in this same beautiful apartment accomodation. Thanks guys! Ryan

Very welcoming and comfortable property

We stayed for a week at Kookaburra. We found it comfortable and exceptionally well appointed. It was close to the hospital, which was the reason for our stay, and handy to restaurants and cafes. There is a steep flight of steps to get from street level to the property which anyone with mobility problems might find difficult. Parking was available only on the street and not always close by. All in all it was value for money. The owner was very accommodating and helpful.
