Week at Pt Willunga

A lovely place. Although it wasn’t esplanade with sea view, we really didn’t mind. It was a pleasant walk to the beach along linear park and sitting out on the deck, we were up in the trees with the birds. We will be booking this one again next year if it’s available.

Great family space

Prompt and detailed info from the host. Easy check-in and you enter a wonderfully large very comfortable house. The house is on a steep slope which means the deck on three sides of the house looks out through and above trees. Plenty space inside and out for our group of 6 even on the rainy days.House is very well equipped and also has more than the essential catering supplies. The house backs on to a moderately busy road but not aware of traffic from the house. The road is steepish and one needs to walk on the verge for 50 metres before an easy flat 10 minute walk to the beach - one of the nicest you could hope for.

Port willunga weekend getaway

Great place to stay, convenient to mclaren vale and willunga wineries and markets. Very clean and comfortable house, light and airy with lovely views of the surrounding hills. Beds comfy, plenty of extra blankets/pillows. Lots of games and dvds. Kitchen well appointed. Generally very clean but table does need to be cleaned under the glass. Outdoor blinds could do with a clean too - lots of webs and a couple of nasty looking spiders. There is a lot of traffic noise from the road especially at night (no idea where everyone's going??) We had a lovely weekend here - it's a great base for exploring the beautiful fleurieu.

Thanks Cathy for your feedback. With regards to the traffic there is the construction of a large regional high school about 1 km away with road closures pushing traffic in our direction as a bypass. Construction will end soon and it will return to just local traffic.

We had a lovely time and the house was really good. We decided to give you the following feedback: Would be good to have a smart tv with streaming included. The dishwasher needs servicing as it leaves powder residue on everything so we had to hand wash afterwards. The house needs a deep clean to pick up the thiings that don’t get cleaned on a regular basis when shower recess, tiles, kitchen cupboards and shelves etc. the location was good except for the road noise. Thanks very much

Very much enjoyed our stay. Would recommend, but note caveat below.

Clean and modern home with a nice bright feel, very comfortable bedding, and a lovely large rear deck overlooking the trees with seating for 10+, perfect for breakfast & coffee, a bit of yoga or reading. Easy self check in and good communication in lead up to our stay. Really enjoyed the Apple TV and access to STAN for some late night binge viewing. The location of the property is the only point up for debate - it's a good location insofar as a short walking distance (mostly through quiet streets and nature reserve) to the amazing Port Willunga beach, (and I think it's a great base to explore the entire south, East and North of McLaren vale) but the house is located just below the crest of a high-speed, reasonably busy country road with no footpath as such. One needed to walk along this road for about 150m to the first quiet street en-route to the beach and this was not a pleasant experience, with cars flying past at 80kms per hour only a metre away. Exiting the driveway by car was also tricky at times (but the host did leave a good tip on how to negotiate this safely). I would not recommend this property to families with small children unless you stringently kept front gates closed at all times. It's not a place where your kids can ride a bike or scooter outside the house. It wasn't a deal breaker for our teenaged kids - it really was the only negative aspect of our otherwise perfect experience at this property.

Family holiday

Great place to stay for a family holiday holiday. Everything was supplied soap shampoo conditioner towels and bed linen which was great coming from interstate. The only thing missing was a cot for the baby but we managed with lots of pillows on the single bed. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you
